    Subject: Request to change of common EB tariff – I-E as per the G/O (eff. from
    Nov.1,2023) Ref : S/C No.093090122202, Name: S.R.Praveena and Divya This is to
    inform you that our apartment is having only two floors and six dwellings only
    without lift facilities. As per the Government notification, we are eligible for the
    common EB tariff I-E (i.e., Rs.5.50 per unit). Currently the tariff is calculated as I-D
    (i.e., Rs.8.15 per unit). We request you to kindly change our common EB tariff
    category to I-E (i.e., Rs.5.50 per unit). We also request you to adjust the excess
    collected amount in the upcoming bill.
    Contention of the Licensee :
    The respondent (Executive Engineer/O&M/Porur) vide his letter dt: 26.03.2024
    has enclosed letter from Assistant Engineer/O&M/Poonamallee/South to the
    petitioner dated: 25.03.2024 as follows:
    “Based on your CGRF complaint dated 25.02.2024, the site was inspected and
    found the common meter S/c No.309-012-2202 was changed the tariff from 1D to
    1E on 26.02.2024 please”.
    Arguments :
    The petitioner has not attended the meeting.
    Issues to be decided by the Forum :
    The petitioner has represented about tariff change from 1D to 1E in the common
    S/c No.309-012-2202 and requested to adjust the excess amount collected in the
    upcoming bill.
    Findings :
    The respondent (Executive Engineer/O&M/Porur) has reported that the common
    S/c No.309-012-2202 was changed from tariff 1D to 1E on 26.02.2024.
    Order: (operative portion)
    The grievance of the petitioner about tariff conversion of S/c No.309-012-2202
    from tariff 1D to tariff 1E has been attended.
    The forum directs the respondent (Executive Engineer/O&M/Porur) to revise the
    billing in S/c No.309-012-2202 under tariff 1E from 01.11.2023 as per the Tariff
    Order no 09 of 2023, dated 31.10.2023.
    With this direction, the petition is treated as closed.
    If the petitioner is not satisfied with this order, he has the right to file an appeal
    before the OMBUDSMAN, 4th Floor, SIDCO Corporate Office Building,
    Thiru-vi-ka Industrial Estate, Guindy, Chennai – 600 032 within 30 days from receipt
    of this order.
