    Dear Chancellor Vistan:

    I am a student taking up BS Electronics Engineering in the UP College of Engineering. I


    would like to appeal for continued coverage for free tuition in my 6th year as my family will
    likely be unable to cover the expenses for my enrollment. My father, who was the main
    provider for our family, has been retired since August 2020 and our family has been mainly
    relying on our mini hardware and prior savings since.

    As for my academic standing, I am currently applying for readmission to the college after
    being tagged as ineligible due to violation of the college’s 24-unit rule. As indicated by my
    attached copy of grades, I have been struggling to complete and pass my subjects since the
    pandemic. This is largely because I got overwhelmed during the semesters, having juggled
    academics with responsibilities at home, within my organizations and in my part-time job.
    Although I was hoping to finish last year, I struggled once again to adjust back to the
    hybrid/face-to-face format of learning due to commuting back and forth from Bulacan and
    being diagnosed with hypertension earlier this year alongside mental struggles from family
    problems.

    I took this midyear off to recuperate and thus, I’m hopeful that I can approach this incoming
    academic year with a better mindset to push through and focus on finally completing my
    program. I am also hoping that not having to worry about tuition fees would allow me to
    focus better on my studies.

    Attached are the necessary documents to aid in your evaluation. Although I have not been
    performing well academically, I hope to cooperate with all the necessary channels to
    continue to earn my degree from this university with aid of the government’s scholarship. I
    am hoping for your kind consideration.
