Mexican doll amigurumi is one of the most requested patterns from my amigurumi

making them.
Head:
Attach 6 mm safety eyes between R10 and R11 with a distance of 6 stitches in between.
R14: [2 sc, dec] x6 (18).
Fasten off the first leg but don’t cut the yarn in second leg. Stuff the legs with fiberfill.
R12: With the second leg, chain 2 and join to the first leg with a single crochet, sc around the
first leg (8 sts), sc in the 2 chains (2 sts), sc around the second leg (8 sts) and sc in the other
side of 2 chains (2 sts). [20 sts in total].
Skirt:
Note: for the skirt and skirt frills, we join with a slip stitch at the end of each row and ch
1 at the start of each row.
The ch 1 we make at the start of each row don't count as hdc stitch.
Join black colour yarn to the front loops at the end of R14 of the body and
Skirt frills:
Join yellow colour yarn to the front loops at the end of R2 of the skirt, ch 1 and
Sc in each st (24).
Join green colour yarn to the front loops at the end of R4 of the skirt, ch 1 and
Sc in each st (30).
Join blue colour yarn to the front loops at the end of R6 of the skirt, ch 1 and
Sc in each st (36).
Join lavender colour yarn to the front loops at the end of R8 of the skirt, ch 1 and
Sc in each st (42).
Waist belt:
R1: sl st in each st (20). Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Hair:
R11: Skip the sl st space of R10 and 1 sc, 16 hdc, 3 sc, place the stitch marker here and
continue to 3sc, 11 hdc, 1 sc, sl st, ch 1 and turn.
R12: Skip the sl st space of the previous row and 1 sc, 11 hdc, 3 sc.
Note:
R10 and R12 are worked only till halfway rather than complete rounds.
Headband:
Ch 2, [dc in each st] and sl st to the first dc (38). Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Ribbons:
R1: hdc in each st and sl st to the first st (7). Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Make around 12 to 15 ribbons similarly in different colours. I made 13 ribbons in total using 5
different colours.
Earrings (Make 2):
4 sc in magic ring.
Assembling :
Place the hair in such a way that last st of hair is one stitch away from the back of the head
(see pic below). Sew the hair to the head when you are satisfied with the placement at front.
Place the head band so that it aligns with R11 of hair at the front and sew.
Place the ribbons over the head band and stitch them. Head pins comes in handy to keep the
ribbons in place.
Insert the waist belt through the top of the body and sew it just above the skirt.
For the blouse design, embroider a half square shape using lavender colour yarn.
Finally attach the arms to the body just below the head.
And your mexican doll is now done!
Don't forget to share your make to my Instagram and Facebook page using the hashtag
