Read this passage carefully then answer the questions that


follow it.

Devon bent down and quickly peeped inside his desk at the big, juicy
mango. How he wished it was break time! The smell of the mango
made him smile. He hoped Miss Browne did not see him. He
wondered if he should take a quick bite but he was afraid he would
get caught. How he wished Miss Browne would leave the 5
classroom!

He decided to stop wishing and wait for 10:15 a.m. Once he was
outside, he would really enjoy his mango. As he sat there thinking
about eating his mango, he noticed the other students looking at him
and giggling. 10

“I am waiting for an answer to the question,” Miss Browne said.

Devon did not know what to say, but he knew that he would have to
wait longer to eat his mango.
