AIRCRAFT INSTALLATION
To install the aircraft unpack the archive into the X-Plane 10\Aircraft\Heavy Metal\ folder (or any other folder
under X-Plane10/Aircraft)
SYSTEM SETTINGS
The volume of the CL300 custom sounds by default is set for use with 100% volume of X-Plane’s sounds. Use
CL300 options menu to change custom sounds volume.
Recommended settings in the X-Plane’s “Joystick & Equipment” menu are “FULL-RIGHT for non linear” and
“FULL-LEFT FOR MOST REALISM”.
The model does not have clickable “TO/GA” and “CWS” (control wheel steer) buttons, and trim knobs, so set a
keybind to them on your keyboard or joystick.
MENU PANELS
The Main Menu panel is placed on the left upper part of the screen. You can open it by clicking the small knob with
the white triangle.
Clicking on one of the circles on this panel will move your position to the place
where you clicked. For exterior preflight checklist refer to page 192 of the Aircraft
Flight Manual - http://www.dream-
air.ru/new/pilotam/CL300AFM_Rev10_TR49.pdf .
3
The CAMERAS section gives you access to the CAMERAS pop-up panel. Selecting one of the
options will move you to a new camera position.
OPTIONS section gives access to the OPTIONS pop-up panel where you can
change the volume of the custom sounds or mute it, as well as turn ON or OFF
the SAVE POSITION function, and control various options.
The SAVE POSITION function provides the ability to save plane position even
if you close X-Plane. If this function is ON, after selecting your plane you will
see your plane in the same place and position where you left it during your last
flight. Fuel tanks will save the last fuel quantity. The doors, windows, gears,
flaps, switches etc. will be in the last position as well.
ATTENTION! If you want to start a new flight in a new airport first set position
saving switch OFF (red cross) and then select new airport.
All pop-up panels can be closed by clicking the right upper corner. Some of the panels can be resized by
dragging the right lower corner. All of the panels are movable.

SYSTEMS OF THE AIRCRAFT
COCKPIT LAYOUT
For Cockpit Layout data refer to the Airplane General (starting page at 17) - http://www.smartcockpit.com/aircraft-
ressources/Bombardier_Challenger_Global_00-Airplane_General.html
DME/H – On the real aircraft the DME/H button selects and deselects the DME hold function, which is not present
in this version.
RADAR – This button selects and deselects, on the MFD, the tuning control sub-menu of the radio associated with
the current position of the tuning control on the real aircraft. Not realized with this version, use default X-Plane’s
radar. Use the TR/WX button to show weather data on the PFD.
On the real aircraft - in the magnetic heading mode, heading computations are slaved to the attitude
heading computer and the flux detectors. In DG mode, magnetic flux detector data is removed. DG
mode is not intended for long term heading reference. In DG mode, the selection of the SLEW switch
causes the heading to slew in the selected direction.
X-Plane has no function to switch between DG and AHRS data on the navigation display.
This version of the aircraft uses default X-Plane’ navigation displays, autopilot, TCAS and weather systems. These
systems are simpler than the real aircraft systems.
For those users who want more detailed FMC I recommend free addon for X-Plane called X-FMC.

COLD AND DARK
If you set X-Plane to start each flight without engines running then you'll find CL300 in cold & dark state. If you
want to start it automatically press FAST START in the main menu.
First thing you need to do is to open Main menu, then open EXTER PREFLT panel. Click on the circle with the
number 1. In this position you need to make the next steps:
If everything was done correctly the red circle will become green. During the next steps you need to remove all
protective cover/pins and engine covers. Full exterior preflight checklist can be found on pages 190-196 of the
Aircraft Flight Manual pdf – http://www.dream-air.ru/new/pilotam/CL300AFM_Rev10_TR49.pdf
6
When the power is ON, you can open the CHECKLIST pop-up panel by using the INSTRUMENTS pop-up panel,
or by clicking on the checklist page on the right Multi-Functional Display (MFD). Then open MFD CONTROL
pop-up panel as well.
Active checklist item is magenta. Pressing ENTER (4) button on MFD CONTROL panel makes the current item
green and switches to the next item. Pressing SKIP (1) button makes current item white and switches to the next
item. Use 2 and 3 buttons to switch between available checklists.
The MFD and PFD of the model have some differences with the real ones. This version of the CL300 uses default
X-Plane navigation display and its logic. The PFD display is controlled by DCP panel placed above the display.
Refer to pages 17 and 18 of the Airplane General for cockpit layout - http://www.smartcockpit.com/aircraft-
ressources/Bombardier_Challenger_Global_00-Airplane_General.html
The NAV SOURCE is limited to FMS1, NAV1 and NAV2. Use NAVSRC button (6) to show navsource selection
menu (19) on the PFD and to select the navsource. Selected navsource is shown on the PFD (25).
The BRGSRC button (12) opens OBS1/2 course menu (23) and allows to select displayed bearings (VOR1/2 or
ADF1/2 ) for NAV1 and NAV2 sources. Use MENU knob (13) to select OBS1/2 and DATA knob (13) to set
VOR/ADF bearings.
7
REFS button (14) opens reference menu (21) on the PFD and allows to set V1, V2, VR and VT (VFTO), VGA,
VREF speeds (press REFS twice), to turn ON/OFF VOR, FIX, NDB etc. on the navdisplay. Use MENU knob (13)
to select the speed type you want to change, then TUNE knob (4) to set speed.
TFC button switches ON/OFF TCAS marks on the navdisplay. If TFC is OFF “TCAS OFF” message (20) is
shown on the PFD. TR/WX button (9) switches ON/OFF weather on the navigation display. If weather is displayed
a white TR and a cyan WX is shown on the PFD (24), otherwise TR is cyan and WX is white.
Pressing FRMT button (7) a few times switches the default navdisplay modes. RANGE knob (15) changes scale of
the map on PFD.
17 – autopilot display.
The RADIO button opens selections of radio tune display on the MFD (27). Use MENU knob (13) to select next
position. Use DATA knob (13) to select radio modes if any (for instance OFF/STBY and ON modes of transponder
(ATC/TCAS)). Use TUNE knob (4) to set frequencies. Use switch button on the TUNE knob (4) to switch
standby/active frequencies.
To control MFD use MFD CONTROL panel on the pedestal or pop-up MFD CONTROL panel. Use L/R switch (2)
to select left/right MFD. Various buttons (3) switch ON several MFD pages. Pressing FRMT button a few times
shows nav display on MFD and switches its modes.
If MFD shows CHECKLIST page (26) you can click on it and the CHECKLIST pop-up panel appears. Clicking in
EICAS part of the MFD (16) shows the EIACAS pop-up panel (18). Clicking on any other part of the pilot’s PFD
or MFD moves camera TO/FROM displays and shows MFD CONTROL pop-up panel.
AUTOPILOT
FD button (1) enables Flight Director, shows FD command bars and activates ROLL and PITCH
modes.
CRS knob (10) is a course selector for OBS1/OBS2. Pressing the PUSH DIRECT (10) button
will set OBS course to current heading.
NAV button (2) arms NAV mode. In NAV arm mode the white LNV1/2 indicates
selected navsource (LNV1 is a NAV1 selection, LNV2 is NAV2/FMS selection). When
the mode is engaged, the green LOC1/LOC2/FMS1 display engaged source selection.
1 / 2 BANK (11) mode reduces the maximum commanded bank angle to 15°. Half
Bank Mode has no effect on roll mode operation. Half Bank Mode is annunciated by a
green arc drawn above the roll scale index marks on the PFD. The length of the mark
represents +/- 15° of roll. It will be automatically selected when climbing through 31 600 ft pressure altitude.
8
Pressing the HDG button (3) engages the heading mode and displays a green HDG
annunciation on the PFDs. The heading button controls the heading bug and digital
display. Pressing the push button in the center of the HDG knob synchronizes the HDG bug on all display units to
the aircraft current heading. The flight director command bars command a turn in the direction the heading bug was
moved to achieve the set heading.
APPR mode (4) automatically arms both localizer and glideslope modes.
B/C mode button (13) is used to alternately select and deselect the back course mode
for flying a localizer back course approach.
Pressing the FLC button (5) engages the flight level change mode, which
synchronizes on engagement to the current airspeed/mach. The speed
reference can then be changed with the SPEED knob (14). Pushing the FLC
switch again disengages the mode. Pushing the SPEED knob changes IAS/MACH speeds.
The VS switch (6) selects vertical speed mode. When activated, the system maintains
the vertical speed reference. The vertical speed reference is set to the current vertical
speed at the time of mode selection. After mode selection, rotation of the DOWN/UP wheel (16) slews the vertical
speed reference in the direction of knob rotation.
VNAV mode (15) automatically loads altitudes from the FMS (Flight Management
System) into the autopilot for you in order to follow route altitudes. The navsource
must be FMS1, NAV and ALT modes engaged, FMS must have flight plan with
entered altitudes at FLY AT ____ FT line. Due to X-Plane limitations VNAV mode is
indicated only by green V at the right part of the autopilot display. When active it automatically engages VS mode,
sets altitude and calculates VS rate according to FMS flight plan. Altitude hold (7) may be engaged by depressing
the ALT button on the FGP. When ALT engages, the FD holds the existing altitude at the time the ALT button was
pushed except during a precision approach with the glideslope captured.
Pressing AP button (8) engages the autopilot. Pressing a second time disengages the
autopilot.
Pressing YD button (9) engages yaw damper. The YD can be engaged independently of
the autopilot, but the autopilot system does not engage without the YD.
XFR button (18) selects the desired flight director (left or right) to command the
autopilot. This version of the aircraft has only one flight director, the button only
change the indication on the PFD.
AP/YD DISK button (19) disengages both the autopilot and the yaw damper.
