4. PURPOSE
This procedure is intended for pneumatic test of all reinforcement (pads) that welded to
the tank. This test is performed before the full water test. This procedure is applicable
for the fabrication, erection and test of tank units that require the pressure test more
than 1Kg/cm2 (as far as bearable).

5. PROCEDURE DESCRIPTION
5.1 General.
a. Soap solution is used for this test
b. This tests are performed before full water test.
5.2 Pneumatic Test for Nozzles Reinforcement Pads.
a. Checking of leakage by air leak on nozzles reinforcing pads before full water test.
b. Air and soapy water tests shall be performed on nozzle reinforcement pads by
applying 1 kg/cm2 for 5 minutes, subsequently reduce to 0.2 kg/cm2
c. Cover the test surface (fillet weld outer surface of reinforcing pads) with soap
solution by dripping, spraying or brushing. Care shall be taken not to make
bubbles with may mask eventually air leaks.
d. Leak shall be checked at both side, inside and outside of nozzle pads.
e. The continuous generation of bubbles will include the presence of air leaks.
f. Any air leaks shall be marked for further repair.
g. In case of repair, the repaired are should be retested.
h. After testing, the test holes should be filled with heavy grease.
