and runs her own Museum Chain business, called ‘Museums for Learning’. She is the owner,
but she isn’t very tidy. In 5 minutes, an important person is coming and visit her in her office.

Exercise 11. Grammar I: Modal Verbs for Past Usage. Lola Mento had very bad news last
week. The director of one of her museums, the Sidcombe art gallery detected that one of the
paintings was stolen! Read the police report.
Exercise 12: Writing

Every term your English desdoblament goes on a day-trip to a place of interest. Last term
you were responsible for the arrangements. Your teacher has asked you to write a report on
the trip, giving suggestions and advice for the person who will organise the next one. Write
your report in 140-190 words.

Writing hints!!
- Use modal verbs to make suggestions and give advice
- Useful vocabulary and expressions: make sure, remind, museum, gallery, disaster,
problem, luckily….
Exercise 13: Speaking
Find a person in the class and discuss the following statements while answering the question in
the middle. Record the conversation via Flipgrid or do the speaking task directly to your
teacher. You will have three minutes for doing so.

BALLOON ADVENTURE

Brian Jones is the British half of the first team to go round the world in a balloon. He and his
Swiss co-pilot have written an account of the 19-day expedition they 1. in March 1999. It
