Q26. Line l is the bisector of an ∠ A and ∠ B is any point on l. BP and BQ are perpendiculars from B
to the arms of LA (see figure). Show that
(i) ∆APB ≅ ∆AQB
(ii) BP = BQ or B is equidistant from the arms ot ∠A.

Q27 In figure, ∠ABC = 69°,∠ACB = 31°, find ∠BDC.

Q28. In figure, POQ is a line. Ray OR is perpendicular to line PQ. OS is another ray lying
between rays OP and OR. Prove that

Q29. Diagonal AC of a parallelogram ABCD bisects ∠A (see figure). Show that


(i) it bisects ∠C also,
(ii) ABCD is a rhombus.

Q31. An Isosceles triangle has perimeter 30cm and each of the equal sides is 12cm. Find the area

Q32. In figure, ∠PQR = 100°, where P, Q and R are points on a circle with centre O.
Find ∠OPR.

In parallelogram ABCD, two points P and Q are taken on diagonal BD such that DP = BQ.
Show that
(i) ΔAPD ≅ ΔCQB
(ii) AP = CQ
(iii) ΔAQB ≅ ΔCPD
(iv) AQ = CP
(v) APCQ is a parallelogram

Q33. In the right triangle ABC, right angled at C, M is the midpoint of hypotenuse AB. C is
joined to M and produced to a point D such that DM = CM. Point D is joined to point B.
Showthat:
(i) ΔAMC ≅ ΔBMD (ii) ∠DBC is a right angle.
(iii) ΔDBC ≅ ΔACB (iv) CM=1/2 AB

The triangular side walls of a flyover have been used for advertisements. The sides
of the walls are 122 m, 22 m and 120 m (see figure). The advertisements yield an
earning of ₹5000 per m² per year. A company hired one of its walls for 3 months.
How much rent did it pay?

Q34 A conical tent is 10 m high and the radius of its base is 24 m. Find
(i) slant height of the tent.
(ii) cost of the canvas required to make the tent, if the cost of 1 m2 canvas is ₹70.

shown in the figure from where they have to purchase things according to their need.
Distance between shop P and Q is 8 m, that of between shop Q and R is 10 m and between

Q.38 Read the passage given below and answer any four questions:
Once four friends Rahul, Arun, Ajay and Vijay went for a picnic at a hill station. Due to peak
season, they did not get a proper hotel in the city. The weather was fine so they decided to
make a conical tent at a park. They were carrying 300 m² cloth with them. As shown in the
figure they made the tent with height 10 m and diameter 14 m. The remaining cloth was used
for the floor.
