Tutor Comment (Karl Thurtell):

Kwande consistently maintains a calm and introspective demeanor, yet he actively participates when encouraged. Despite the
challenges and pressures of Matric, Kwande has admirably navigated through them, demonstrating commendable academic
achievements, notably earning an impressive 83% in Life Orientation. While Mathematics remains an area for improvement, I
would like to encourage Kwande to take advantage of all available support resources to enhance his performance in Term 2. As
Kwande nears the culmination of his high school journey, his evident growth and maturity both inside and outside the classroom
are truly uplifting. It is a genuine privilege to witness his evolution into adulthood, and I remain fully committed to providing
unwavering encouragement and support as he approaches the final stages.

Headmaster's Comment: We thank both parents and boys for their patience and understanding in the delayed issuing of reports
due to the tragic passing of Kaiden Bowie in Term 1 and the associated postponement of academic assessments and extension
of timelines as a result thereof.

Term 1 is widely viewed as the busiest of all terms in a school such as Jeppe High School for Boys with a ten-week academic
programme, extensive co-curricular offering and changeover from summer to winter season, but the vast majority of boys rose to
this challenge and participated fully in all that the school had to offer. From an academic perspective, it is interesting to note that
once again the senior cohorts (Grade 11 and matric) have attained the highest grade average in the first term whilst certain boys
in the junior grades have found the adjustment to the academic demands of high school a challenge. We have every confidence
that our younger boys will adapt to these challenges, and expectations, of high school and will improve their performances as the
year progresses and, in so doing, meet the work ethic and academic standards expected by the staff and which has seen a
steady year on year improvement in our academic performance and results.

Term 2 is another extremely busy term and in less than six weeks our senior boys will commence writing their mid-year exams.
Time management is an important and necessary skill for young men to develop as they engage fully in the holistic educational
offering – academic, co-curricular and pastoral -– at Jeppe High School for Boys and balance the competing demands thereof. I
have every reason to believe that the positive start to the term, both inside and outside the classroom, will continue in the weeks
ahead.

Finally, I would also like to encourage all parents, and boys, to attend the in-person Parent Evenings taking place tomorrow
evening, 11 April (Grade 8 and matric) and next Tuesday, 16 April (Grade 9, Grade 10 and Grade 11) and remind parents to
make use of the booking system associated therewith as communicated in yesterday's letter from Mrs Rattray.
