Activity 4
1. Conflict Resolution Therapy deals with a problem-solving approach, and it says that
conflict is healthy but only when handed effectively. Here is the scenario:
You are a Grade V teacher, one day you witnessed that one of your pupils was bullied and
harassed by one of the pupils on higher grade. As a teacher, how will you apply conflict resolution
therapy? Name at least four ways to resolve the conflict and explain the process. Moreover, name
at least 3 conflict and resolution skills and discuss them briefly. Which can be developed for the
teacher in the scenario?

As a teacher who encountered this kind of conflict, first thing that I will do is to talk to the one who
bullied my pupil. I will let him realize that bullying isn’t good. I will also ask him/her why he/she
bullied my pupil. These are the 4 ways that I will use to resolve the conflict;
1. Don't Ignore Conflict- I will not ignore conflict, because this may lead to more profound
conflict if not resolved right away.
2. Clarify What the Issue Is- I will ask both of them what the real problem is, for them to be able
to understand each other.
3. Bring Involved Parties Together to Talk- I will invite them for a talk to hear each other’s side.
4. Identify a Solution- every problem has a solution, that’s why I will find a solution for their
problem.
5. Continue to Monitor and Follow Up on the Conflict- I will still monitor and follow up the
conflict, because sometimes we are hoping that the conflict already ended but it isn’t. That’s
why, it is important to monitor them.

2. Based on your own experienced, where did you apply Behavioral Theory and Social
Learning Theory in teaching Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao. Cite 2 examples for each
theory.
From what I experienced in my teaching career, I applied Behavioral Theory and Social Learning
Theory in teaching ESP in shaping good manners and right conduct, as a teacher I should show the
right manners for them to imitate what they observed in me.

3. What positive behavior approaches/strategies that is being practiced in your school?

can apply in your school?

classroom. Discuss each briefly and as a teacher what will you do to help those kinds
of children?
The 5 therapeutic intervention that helps students cope with difficulties in the classroom are;
1. Graphic Organizers- are visual displays that show the relationships among facts, terms and
ideas
2. Video Modeling- is an evidence based practice wherein therapists and teachers model and
video record a desired classroom behavior or skill.
3. Skill of the Month- is a collaborative practice where teachers and therapists address a given
skill through various activities for the entire month, to facilitate generalization.
4. Pre-teaching- curriculum based vocabulary within the speech room and transferring the
learned skills into the classroom during a lesson helps boost confidence and address issues
related to auditory processing.
5. The writing lab approach- Students engage in writing projects with teachers and SLPs using
recurrent processes such as organizing, scaffolding, revising and editing.

7. How can we help young generation to foster/model a positive Observational Learning

Approach in their daily activities and how it will affect their future generations?
Observational learning describes the process of learning by watching others, retaining the
information, and then later replicating the behaviors that were observed. It is sometimes called
shaping, modeling, and vicarious reinforcement. While it can take place at any point in life, it tends
to be the most common during childhood. It also plays an important role in the socialization process.
Children learn how to behave and respond to others by observing how their parents and/or
caregivers interact with other people. This plays important role with their future, for example, ”A child
watches their parent folding the laundry. They later pick up some clothing and imitate folding the
clothes.” These leads to being independent of the child.
I can help young generation to foster a positive Observational Learning by showing them right things
for them to be able to follow it.
