This document is a contract reached and Agreed between the CRETE SHIPPINGS and the Employee
1. APPOINTMENT LETTER.
After our recruitment exercise, the management of CRETE SHIPPINGS has decided to offer you a job here in our
company. Hence, we seek to employ your services as stated in the following terms and conditions.
3. JOB PROCEEDING:
You will be expected to resume your job soon, your joining date/Vessel can be changed or Extended depending on
your readiness upon joining (Ticket will be booked once your E-visa is ready. Work time shall be 44 hours a week
(8hr in a day) for the (10 months) contract term. Contract renewal depends on Employee’s performance and
Employer’s discretion.
4. PAID LEAVE PERIOD:
Employees are entitled to Two month leave period, After 4 months on board. Employee will receive £2,000 GBP
take home for each paid leave period. You must notify the Company or your immediate supervisor as soon as
possible if you are unable to work for medical reasons.
Paid Vacation, Imposed Leave The employee is entitled to Two month vacation days per calendar year and/or pro
rata. The employer schedules the vacation in consideration with the need and/or wish of the employee. The daily
working hours are determined by the onboard operation.
The employer may direct the employee to take leave during the term of the employment („ Imposed Leave “) if
the vessel is for any reason without, or low passenger count. The employee may remain onboard during holidays.
In addition to the vacation days the employee is entitled to 80 work free days per calendar year and/or pro rata
(compensation for weekends and national holidays). If the employment relationship begins or ends during the
course of a calendar year, the employee is entitled to 1/12 of the days for each month of employment. Within the
statutory limits, the employer schedules these work free days.
The employee is aware of the fact that working onboard a vessel may imply work on weekends and national
holidays. The work free days intend to compensate for this.
(i)to arrange for the seaman and provide hotel accommodation, meals and air or other transportation tickets
of the Crew members from first international airport of his home country to the port of signing on;
(ii)to arrange for and provide air or other transportation tickets from the port of signing off to first
international airport of his home country, whichever is available or convenient;
(vi))to insure Crew and any connected persons proceeding to sea on board for crew risk, which shall include
but not be limited to death, sickness, repatriation, injury, shipwreck, unemployment indemnity and loss of
personal effects with a first class insurance company, underwriter or protection and indemnity association;
(vii)To pay all salaries to the seafarers Monthly punctually in accordance with the terms of this agreement
A. The seafarer shall be compensated for all work performed in excess of the regular eight (8) hours as
prescribed above. Overtime pay may be classified as open, fixed or guaranteed.
In computing overtime, a fraction of the first hour worked shall be considered as one full hour. After the first hour
overtime, any work performed which is less than thirty (30) minutes shall be considered as half an hour and
more than thirty (30) minutes shall be considered one full hour.
1. Open overtime - not less than 125 percent (125%) of the basic hourly rate computed based on two hundred
eight (208) regular working hours per month.
2. Guaranteed or fixed overtime - not less than thirty percent (30%) of the basic monthly salary of the
seafarer. This fixed rate overtime shall include overtime work performed on Sundays and holidays but shall
not exceed one hundred five (105) hours a month.
3. Overtime work for officers shall be computed based on the fixed overtime rate
4. For ratings overtime work shall be based on guaranteed or open overtime rate, as mutually agreed upon by
the contracting parties. Overtime work in excess of 105 hours a month for rating shall be further
compensated on the open overtime rate.
5. Any hours of work or duty including hours of watch keeping performed by the seafarer on designated rest
days and holidays shall be paid rest day or holiday pay
6. MEDICAL EXPENSES:
CRETE SHIPPINGS will provide the employee with comprehensive health care for the term of contract, and follow-on
care for injuries suffered during the term of Contract for employee and family Medical Insurance is free for the
employee and the employee is entitled to travel and relocation allowance, which must be paid by the employer
before resumption of duty. Your medical will be done here upon your Arrival in UK
7. TRAVEL PLANS/RE-LOCATION:
For Expatriates, Your Free flight ticket Have been booked and confirmed. You are to process your Joining visa
from Visa Uk LTD, the visa Expenses will be refunded and reimbursed to you after upon Your Arrival in UK by Our
Management. As this fee stands for your seriousness and willingness to join in our company Endeavor to proceed
as instructed.
We will provide OKTOBOARD once your visa is ready this includes all your joining documents as it will be
approved and confirmed to enable you fly out of your country safely without Immigration Restrictions
Position of the employee: If necessary other reasonable tasks might be allocated to the employee, provided that
these are equivalent. The employee will be posted to a specific vessel but he/she is aware the employer may post
the employee during the current season to any other vessel under its management. Such a division is made only if
it is necessary for operational reasons and the related travel expenses are covered by the employer.
Employment start and end date of The contract will commence and ends with a notice at the latest on the signoff ,If
a cruise has not been completed by the end of the contract, the end of the contract will be postponed until the end
of the cruise. As a result, the employment relationship will not converted into a permanent employment
relationship, but only the end date of the contract will be postponed. The employee will be informed of the exact
ending date of the contract no later than 7 days before the actual end of the season.
Probation Period The first 3 months of employment are a probationary period during which either party may
terminate this Contract by giving the other party 7 days’ prior written notice
TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT
A. The employment of the seafarer shall cease when the seafarer completes his period of contractual service
aboard the vessel, signs-off from the vessel and arrives at the point of hire.
B. The employment of the seafarer is also terminated when the seafarer arrives at the point of hire for any of
the following reasons:
1. When the sea farer signs-off and is disembarked for medical reasons pursuant
2. when the seafarer signs-off due to shipwreck, ship's sale, lay-up of vessel, discontinuance of voyage or
change of vessel principal in accordance with the maritime
3. when the seafarer, in writing, voluntarily resigns and signs off prior to expiration of contract pursuant this
Contract.
4. When the seafarer is didn’t follow the instructions Via the Visa process as instructed Earlier
1. In case work-related death of the seafarer during the term of his contract, the employer shall pay his
beneficiaries equivalent to the amount of Fifty Thousand US dollars (US$50,000) and an additional amount of
Seven Thousand US dollars (US$7,000) to each child under the age of twenty-one (21) but not exceeding four (4)
children, at the exchange rate prevailing during the time of payment.
8. AGREEMENT OF CONTRACT:
This agreement supersedes and replaces all previous contracts you have had earlier, written and verbal,
between the employer and the employee. This Agreement is reached in accordance with SECTION 6 OF UK
EMPLOYMENT ACT BILL 2000. Violations of the terms and Conditions of these contracts with its approved
addendum shall be ground for disciplinary action against erring party
The terms and conditions in accordance with Governing board resolution No. 09 and Memorandum Circular No 10
both series of 2010 and memorandum Circular No 34. Series of 2020 (Compliance with the 2018 Amendments to
the maritime labor Convention 2006) shall be strictly and faithfully Observed

declined our job offer.
