The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Derivative is located in two places on the engine and is a
nine digit number stamped or laser etched onto the block at the vehicle assembly plant. If reading
the identification number the following information can be obtained:
The engine block is marked with the VIN on a pad area on the left rear side (1).
