    WEEKLY FIRE PUMP CHECKLIST

    Valves function properly and their stems are

    Suction and discharge guages indicate

    recommended working pressure.

    12 Fire water tank is full
    13 Diesel is adequate for diesel pumps.
    Start and operate pump automatically for 15
    14 minutes and do the following while pump is
    running.
    - Record system suction & discharge pressure
    - Check motor rotation
    - Check & record the starting & running
    current amps
    - Check the pump packing glands for slight
    discharge
    - Adjust land nuts (if necessary)
    - Check unusual noise & vibration
    - Check packing boxes, bearings and pump
    casing for overheating.
    - Signal to fire alarm activated during the
    active operation of fire pump
