What is Co-location

Deploying different types of energy generation technologies

or facilities in close proximity to each other. This can involve
combining multiple energy sources, such as solar, wind, or
storage systems, within the same grid connection point.
Windey’s Onshore Co-location Cases

Xinjiang · Hami
70MW wind & solar
+7.5MW/15MWh energy

Gansu·Subei

+30MW/60MWh BESS
Windey’s Offshore Co-location Case

Xiangshan · Zhejiang 2023

56 wind turbines were equipped

540kWh battery systems
• The systems provide back-up power,
replacing the need for a diesel
generator
• Auxiliary services also provided
including frequency response

• Both wholesale trading and hybrid PPA add value to the grid connection
• Cases 2 and 3 have similar results due to wind conditions and wake
effects. There are about 600 hours (7%) per year where the output is
limited.
• Hybrid PPA can help to reduce revenue uncertainty and improve
bankability
• Hybrid PPA could provide valuable routes to market for co-location in
the future
