1. Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.
First of all, let me thank
you all for coming here today. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is …… . I’m the representative of Google company. What I’d like to show you today is about our company profile. My talk is particularly relevant to those of you who interested in joining our corporation in the future. 2. I’ve divided my presentation into 5 parts as you can see on the screen. My talk will take about 15 minutes. Please feel free to interrupt me at any time with questions. Oh, and don’t worry about taking notes. I’ve put all the important statistics on a handout which my assistant will give to you later. 3. So, let me give you a brief overview of Google. - Google began in 1996, as a research project by Larry Page who was soon joined by Sergey Brin. - Actually, Larry Page and Sergey Brin called it Backrub in the beggining because the program analysed the web's "back links" to understand how important a website was, and what other sites it related to. - And the company was first incorporated as privately held company on September 7, 1998. 4. Ah, does anyone know who this is? - He is Sundar Pichai, an Indian-American business executive and CEO of Google. - Born in June 10, 1972. - He was selected to become the next CEO of Google on August 10, 2015. - In 2016 and 2020, he was included in Time's annual list of the 100 most influential people . 5. Let’s move on to the next point. What is our company value? - Our mission is organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. - And we want to make search engines so powerful that they would understand "everything in the world" in the future. 6. Over the years, our company has made many achievements to fulfill our goal. - 1998: Over the next few years after Larry Page and Sergey Brin changed the company name to Google which caught the attention of investors, so, in 1998 it received substantial funding and Google Inc. was officially born. - 2004: Google announced Gmail, which is one of google's greatest success. - 2005: Google Maps was launched as a solution to help people get around and find directions 7. This now leads us to my next point. OUR PRODUCTS. As you can see on this slide. These are the 4 most famous products of Google that I'm sure everyone here already know: - First, Google chrome/ help people access the internet and running web-based applications. - Next, Google maps/ which provides detailed information about geographical regions and sites worldwide. - The third product is Google news/ which aggregates headlines from news sources worldwide. - And finally, Google finance. It helps people track real-time financial market trends, stock updates, and currency information. 8. Let's now have a closer look at the figures on the next page. This bar chart shows how many people in the world . More than nine out of ten internet users who search for information online do so through Google. 9.
