Haugesund
Haugesund
Haugesund
Introduction.
Historically one of Norway's most important ports, Haugesund is an appealing, vibrant city
with much to offer. The memorial site of a famous Viking king, a number of interesting
museums and an impressive church are some of the cultural attractions that Haugesund has
to offer, while a beautiful lake nearby offers the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular nature
for which Norway is known. The city has excellent cafés, restaurants and bars, many of which
are located near the attractive harbour area, with its colourful wooden houses built in a
typically Norwegian style. Haugesund receives fewer tourists than many of the country's other
destinations, allowing those in this city to enjoy an authentically Norwegian atmosphere.
