On behalf of our client, CIMS Limited Partnership, Synergy HR is seeking a self-starting, team player willing to work
collaboratively towards achieving the strategic goals of the company to fill the contract role of QA/QC Manager based
in Corunna, Ontario.

Reporting to the Director of Quality, the QA/QC Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling
and evaluating the activates of its office and field operations pertaining to Quality Assurance/Control
• Develop, implement and managing all aspects of Quality Assurance/Quality Control within the Ontario
Region.
• Act as a primary quality resource and exhibit leadership for the Management Team with respect to quality
policies and standards.
• Provide support to management and supervision of the company's business units on quality related issues.
• Manage (internal and external) customer and supplier relations, expectations, and needs.
• Provide indoctrination & training to company personnel to support the implementation of quality
programs.
• Consult and negotiate with clients to prepare specifications, explain proposals and present engineering
reports and findings.
• Assign, co-ordinate and review the technical work of the department and/or project teams.
• Recruit personnel and oversee development and maintenance of staff competence in required areas.
• Collaborate with the Company's Director of Quality Assurance for the development of quality systems and
certification processes for the Ontario Region.
• Regular Interface with the Company's Director of Quality Assurance on the corporate Quality Assurance
mandate.
• Develop employees relative to skills and company growth goals, and actively participates in periodic and
annual employee reviews and appraisals; Employees know what is expected and how they can contribute.
• Interface with regulators and client auditors as required ensuring ongoing compliance with applicable
legislation, quality standards and client specifications and the execution of corrective actions in order to
maintain quality program registrations.
• Ensure quality systems, processes and documentation employed on site comply with Corporate Policy.
• Responsible for meeting the obligations of contract and client satisfactions with respect to quality
assurance.
• Monitor and advises on how the quality program is performing.
• Actively assists Fabrication and Construction staff in identifying potential improvements to procedures
and approaches to the work from a quality control prospective.
• Assess regulatory and client requirements and specifications to assist in determining the most appropriate
method of conducting inspections and tests, sequence of operations, and work assignments.
• Write and maintain various formal quality management documents such as manuals, policies, procedures,
plans, checklists and records appropriate to existing and emerging regulator, client and internal needs.
• Develops and monitors, in conjunction with Operations, the execution of project quality plans and
documents, including compliance by subcontractors.
• Liaise with Purchasing and Operations to establish quality requirements and ensure that suppliers and
sub-contractors are rated as to their ability to conform.
• Ensure material & special calibrated tools receipt inspections are effectively carried out.
• Responsible for investigation, evaluation, trending and appropriate corrective action for customer quality
related complaints.
• Ensure effective delegation and coordination of direct report activities and assign task to Inspection and
support personnel.
• 10 years' experience in industrial construction and tradesman or technical (Two (2) year college program in
related discipline), 8 years of which will be in QA/QC or P. Eng. with 8 years' experience in industrial
construction, 5 years of which will be in QA/ QC.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or college diploma in engineering technology is recommended.
• Strong background in welding & fabrication is required.
• Experienced with ASME, Sec 1, ASME, Sec II (All Parts). ASME, Sec VIII-Div.1, ASME Sec IX, ASME B31.1, & ASME
Sec-B31.3, API, TSSA, ABSA and regulations.
• Certification as a CSA W178.2 Level II or III Welding Inspector is required.
• Certification as an API 510 / API 570 Inspector or National Board Inspector is recommended.
• Strong knowledge in CSA & ASME codes and standards is required.
• Proficient with Microsoft office, good communication skills and the ability to work with others. Working
knowledge of production planning and control functions preferred.
