METHOD OF PROCEDURE

– ERICSSON BASEBAND
INTEGRATION
This document has been prepared to provide onsite step-by-step guide
in the integration/re-integration of Baseband 52xx/66xx Nodes
TOOLS
• Web Browser (recommended – Google chrome, Internet Explorer, or
Mozilla Firefox)
• Latest Moshell or minimum Moshell with version 17.0 or above
• RJ45 – straight LAN cable
• SFTP Application (recommended Core FTP-Mini-SFTP server)
• Baseband Upgrade Package (UP) – (Version 17.Q2_R12J25 or R5H104)
BASEBAND CONFIGURATION FILES
• RBS Summary script
• Site Basic Script
• Site Equipment Script
• Transport Network Script (TN Script)
• Radio Network Script (RN Script)

Two categories to consider:


• Category 1: Baseband without any configuration files in it
• Category 2: Baseband with configuration files in it but needs formatting
RBS Summary script

• RBS Summary script


• Site Basic Script
• Site Equipment Script
• The RBS Summary script contains the site basic script and the site equipment script. Tools
required for RBS Summary script is the Web Browser (recommended – Google chrome, Internet
Explorer, or Mozilla Firefox)

Transport Network Script (TN Script)
Radio Network Script (RN Script
• Transport Network Script (TN Script): tools required to run the TN and
RN script is Latest Moshell or minimum Moshell with version 17.0 or
above
Category 1: BASEBAND WITHOUT ANY CONFIGURATION IN IT
• Power up Baseband 52xx/66xx
• STEP 1:
a. Connect laptop to port LMT on the Baseband using the RJ45 straight LAN cable.
(make sure the LED light on the LMT port is on signifying connection between
laptop and BB)
b. Change laptop Network LAN settings
IP address: 169.254.2.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
Default Gateway: 169.254.2.2
c. Firewall and antivirus should be disabled on pc
STEP 2: Setting up SFTP server
• User: rbs
• Password: rbs
• Port: 22
• Root Path: Directory to BB_UP software 17.Q2_R12J25 on pc (it is best preferred for the software
to be on the C drive)
STEP 3: Launch web browser
• Log on to https://169.254.2.2 in the address bar to enter into
AutoIntegration Web GUI
Host: 169.254.2.1
Username: rbs
Password: rbs
Site Installation file (copy the RBS summary name and paste in the Site
Installation file column with .xml)
• Then click “Download Files” (This will download the Upgrade package
into the Baseband)
Wait until download completes. This will be displayed in the AutoIntegration log as
Download Completed.
• After download is complete, click the “Integrate” button to start the integration
After AutoIntegration completes, Autointegration log will state SITE_CONFIG_COMPLETE

Observe the behavior of the BB unit. The BB will restart and the amber light will come up. This means the software has been
downloaded and the RBS summary script loaded
Reload the browser to see the current status of the baseband. The reloaded page is Emergency Access. In the ‘Node Status’
under ‘Node Information’ it should be Node is Working.

STEP 4: Running TN and RN script using
Cygwin application
• Copy the TN and RN script and paste in the cygwin folder in /home/user
• Launch Cygwin application
• Moshell 169.254.2.2
• lt all
• Username: rbs
• Password: rbs
Issue the following command to run the TN script
• Copy the TN script name and paste it after the path in the command below

There will be a prompt asking ‘Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? Type yes
Password: rbs
2 ‘Oks’ will be displayed, showing that it is successful.

• Repeat the same step for the RN script


• Copy the RN script name and paste it after the path in the command below

There will be a prompt asking ‘Are you sure you want to continue connecting
(yes/no)? Type yes

2 ‘Oks’ will be displayed, showing that it is successful.
• Integration is complete
CATEGORY 2: BASEBAND WITH CONFIGURATION FILES IN IT BUT TO BE
FORMATTED
• Log on to https://169.254.2.2/ea.html in the address bar to enter into Emergency Access Web GUI
Host: 169.254.2.1
Username: rbs
Password: rbs
Under ‘Node Handling’ select ‘Board Restore’. Observe the behavior of the node. All the LED light will flash and
the amber light will go off.
Reload the page to observe the status of the node. Under the ‘Node Information’ the ‘Node status’ will
change to ‘Node has not been up’. This means that the Node is ready for integration.

Then proceed to CATEGORY 1 to continue Integration Process.
