INSTRUCTIONS: The following are the approaches to assessment. Interview your
cooperating teacher in describing each one of them.

Approaches Description

1. Assessment FOR This is an approach in which we measure

Learning the learning of our students, their progress,
and their difficulties. Along with these
difficulties, feedback must be given
immediately. This approach may also help
us know what materials can be effectively
utilized.

2. Assessment OF Changes in the behavior of our students

Learning must now be observed or seen in this
approach for us to assess whether our
students have learned and our teaching
approaches are effective in achieving the
aims, goals, and objectives of the
implemented curriculum.
3. Assessment AS This is the approach in which we let our
Learning students practice their metacognition skills,
or where they should be maximizing their
potential for thinking about thinking, as this
skill is an integral part of acting upon
feedback.

1. How do u compare the approaches of learning?

These three approaches differ from another in terms of things they give focused on
assessing. For instance, in Assessment For learning is about the progress and
difficulties as well as giving feedback. Assessment of learning, on the other hand, is
about whether the students are learning or not based on the teachers strategies.
Meanwhile, the last approach is about the application of the learnings of the students.
2. How does your cooperating teacher practice each approach in assessing his/her
learners? Give examples.
In the discussion, the teacher only practice the approach of Assessment For and Of
Learning. In Assessment Of Learning, the teacher gave a group quiz as it allowed the
teacher to assess whether the students learned the lesson. Further, in Assessment For
Learning, is applied in the pre - activity because this approach is usually given before
or during the lesson proper and it assess the students prior knowledge to the topic.
3. Which of the approaches is more frequently used bt the ct?
The most frequent approach is the Assessment For Learning because the teacher
practice this before the class which is the pre-activity and during the lesson as she was
constantly asking questions to the students or doing recitations. This approach help
the teacher to determine the difficulties of the learners before the lesson and whether
the students are really grasping the topic during the discussion.
4. Why is high quality assessment important in students' learning?
High quality assessment is vital part in terms of assesing whether the students are
learning or not and if the teaching strategies are effective that's why it is important
that it is hight quality because it will give the teachers a more realible and valid results
from it.

1. Teachers must be competent in knowing whether the assessment tasks are suitable to
the grade level of their students.
