Peace
Peace has been emphasized by many spiritual traditions and teachings throughout history, both
as an inner journey and an outward commitment to live in mutual benefit with our families,
communities, and the rest of the world. Promoting peace demands evaluating and valuing both
oneself and others. As a result, peace is essential in all aspects of our existence. The significance
in our lives develops as we learn to recognize and assume greater responsibility for one another
and the world, just as a child's life is enriched as he or she learns to take on more obligations.
While a broad application is advocated, individuals or groups might have a greater influence by
strategically concentrating their efforts. Promoting peace in the community is similar to other
aspects of strategic planning in many respects. The Charter for Compassion and the Community
Tool Box suggest the four actions below to assist identify and prioritize peace-building goals, as
well as establish peaceful action opportunities. Discussions with citizens, local human rights
commissions, and/or parent-teacher associations may yield more detailed information. Cultural
and spiritual organizations in your community can also help you learn about current attempts
to foster harmony and cross-cultural/interfaith understanding by bringing varied residents
together to discuss their cultures. You can get in touch with them and join in on some of their
activities. Participatory Asset Mapping focuses on community dialogues to identify and map
locations of issues of concern (such as high-crime areas), community assets to safeguard (such
as parks, schools, and organizations), and variables that influence community violence (such as
vacant lots and abandoned buildings). Refer to the tools provided by groups such as the
Advancement Project for helpful advice.
There are numerous ways to climb a mountain; similarly, there are various ways to build
oneself and one's society via a commitment to peace. As an individual, a family, an
organization, a community, a nation, or a general society, there are various techniques that can
be taken. Some are straightforward, while others need a greater level of commitment and
money. Let's take a closer look at each method. Any believe in the need of finding peace inside
oneself in order to provide peace to the rest of the world. One of the most rewarding, though
challenging, accomplishments is overcoming the temptation to be at odds with oneself and
those closest to us. You may begin by recognizing your value and weaknesses - we all have
them. Show compassion to yourself as a result of this acceptance, and seek out the tactics and
supports that are best suited to you and your situation. Domestic violence and child abuse are
serious issues that are sometimes misunderstood as private rather than public matters.
Correcting this misconception is a critical first step toward resolving these all-too-common
crimes, which have reached pandemic proportions in the United States and are commonplace
in many other countries. Child abuse and domestic violence cost the US economy a staggering
106 billion dollars every year, according to a World Health Organization estimate (1.1 percent of
the gross national product).
In conclusion I believe that we should try our best to assist each other in achieving peace, if we
work together as one hand, we will be able to achieve greatness.
