My Rights
I grew up and have the right to live. Growing has not been easy for me. As I enter the
different stages of life, I have realized that I'm not just a child, a student, and a Filipino
citizen, but more than that. I have rights as a human being and a role that I need to be
responsible for. The learnings that I've acquired and all the lessons that have been taught to
me inside or outside of my school and home have shaped me to be what and who I am
today. As a child, I have the right to be treated right by the people around me. I deserve to
be loved, given importance, and to be appreciated. The stage of life starts by being a child.
As a result, my life could be better if, in the early stages, I were given the opportunity to
experience what I have to. My well-being matters the most, as it will reflect my whole
personality. People could be mistaken if they assume that a child knows nothing. Our voices
need to be heard for we are not just a child.
A learner who may not excel in every subject still has the right to receive a quality
education. Education is crucial as it broadens the minds of all students across various fields
of learning. What we learn in school often has real-life applications, preparing us to face
the challenges of life. As students, we have the right to ask questions, express concerns, and
acquire genuine knowledge. Education can pave the way for us to become successful
individuals and achieve our goals. Additionally, being educated plays a vital role not only in
the life of the student but also in contributing to changes and progress in the community,
economy, and, most importantly, the country.
As a Filipino citizen, my country has made contributions to me as a Filipino citizen. My
rights include the ability to vote, to choose the right path in my country, and to help build a
better future. My life could be in a stage of wealth or grief, but it has nothing to do with my
right as a Filipino citizen. I live in a country where I experience the kind of governance my
country has, and I realize that it needs to change because I and others are not satisfied with
it. That will be the time when I can use my rights, and that's to do something that will make
my country's future better. My points of view count in many circumstances as they may come
from my experience. What I just want is what is good for me, and that is the right time for
me also to use my right as a Filipino citizen.
I n essence, this passage aims to deliver that being a child, a student, and a country's
citizen, even if there are instances where we are not protected, we are discriminated
against, or judged, it will not change the fact that we have rights. If we prioritize
cooperation, all of our rights will be available to us, and all of us will experience the life that
we want. Relating this to our latest topic in mathematics, where we explore ways of
arranging, ordering, or lining up, we will end up with exact results because that is what life
brings to us. Just like permutations and combinations, you may count before you arrive at an
answer, but once you get there, all of it will be worth it. Just like in permutations and
combinations, the result may be big or small, just like other perspectives within us, but
remember that every right we have has no size. It must be heard, counted, and respected.
