Q10-12:
W: Ted, did you speak to technical support about my computer ? I’m working on a
presentation for a client and all my work is on that computer.
M: Yes, they said that they will send someone over tomorrow afternoon.
W: I’m afraid that’ll be too late. I’m meeting with our client at 4:00 tomorrow to
discuss ways we can promote her company.
Could you call tech support again and ask them if they can come any sooner ?
M: Sure, I’ll call them right away. I’ll talk to a supervisor to make sure they send a
technician today.
Q13-15:
M: Excuse me, have you changed the menus here? I notice there’s a symbol next to
some of the same of the dishes. What does it mean ?
W: Oh, all the food with this green “ V” symbol is cooked without meat. Some
customers ask which meals are vegetarian, so this is an easy way for them to know ?
M: that makes sense. A lot of people are trying to eat healthier now.
W: Oh, yes. If you look on the back of the menu, we’ve even added nutritional
information about the food selections. Customers like these features so much that
last month we were voted best restaurant in the area.
Q16-18:
W: Good morning. You’re listening to Cooking Tips on Radio 102. Today we’re
pleased to have Chef Gustavo Moreno here in the studio. He’s just written a new
cookbook, Simple Dinners by Chef Moreno,. Mr.Moreno, tell us about your new
book.
M: Thanks for having me on your show. I wrote this book because I want people to
understand that good cooking doesn’t have to be complicated. My recipes are
exceptionally easy to make.
W: Now, I understand many of recipes in the book come from your restaurant,
which has been popular for many years.
M: That’s right. I own a restaurant in Madrid, and in this book I share the simple
recipes that have contributed to its success.
Q19-21
W: Jin, I just got a message from Ellen. She’s having some car trouble and she won’t
be able to make it to work until later this morning.
M: Oh, but she was supposed to spend this morning training the new front desk staff
.They’re already here, waiting in the lobby.
Could you take over for Ellen ? I know she was planning to show them how to
program wake-up calls for the guest rooms.
W: Well, since I don’t usually work at the front desk, I don’t actually know how to
do that. But I’d be happy to show them around the hotel until she gets here. We can
see the business center, the gym, the dining rooms that’ll take a couple of hours.
Q22-24:
W: We’ve chosen an advertising firm to promote the new Collosus Tractor we’re
making. Several of the firm’s representatives will be visiting next week , and I’ve
planned for you to give them a tour of the assembly line on Tuesday. Is that Ok ?
M: Well, I’m having some of our production equipment serviced right now, so they
wouldn’t be able to see the assembly line in full operation, the next day, Wednesday
would be better for the tour.
W: Ok. The advertising reps are planning to leave Wednesday evening, but I think
we should be bale to squeeze in a tour during the morning. I’ll give them a call right
now to make sure this time change is OK.
