Bloom’s Taxonomy Level(s): (Which level(s) will this lesson meet using this technology tool?)
Please put an X in the box or next to the level(s). Do not highlight or bold the response.
How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:
☐ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the student and mostly
practice based.
☒ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic of
learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facilitates
the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.
☒ Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and completing projects to
demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared outside of the classroom.

via an outside source.)
Lesson idea implementation:
Students will be introduced to the lesson by watching a cyber safety stop-motion video. The teacher
will explain the learning goal: to create their own cyber safety video using the iMovie app, addressing
one of the provided topics. Students will have the freedom to choose their topic and plan their video
content. They will utilize the iMovie app to record and edit their videos, incorporating text, images,
and audio as needed. The teacher will facilitate the process, providing guidance and technical support
as necessary. Feedback will be provided throughout the lesson through checkpoints where students
can share their progress and receive suggestions for improvement. Additionally, peer feedback
sessions will allow students to review each other's videos and offer constructive criticism. The lesson
will conclude with students presenting their videos to the class, followed by a discussion on cyber
safety tips and behaviors.
Managing student learning: Using iMovie to create videos will shift students from passive to active
learners as they become actively engaged in planning, recording, and editing their videos. Time-on-
task will be facilitated by setting specific milestones for storyboard creation, recording, and editing
phases. Peer collaboration and feedback sessions will further enhance engagement and active
learning.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection: Be sure to mention one specific UDL principle you
are focused on in this lesson – Multiple Means of Engagement, Multiple Means of Representation,
or Multiple Means of Action & Expression.
This lesson supports the Multiple Means of Representation principle by allowing students to express
their understanding of cyber safety through a variety of multimedia formats. The iMovie app provides
flexibility in how students present their ideas, accommodating diverse learning styles and preferences.
Reflection: I believe this activity will have a significant impact on student learning by empowering
them to take ownership of their learning and creativity. I look forward to implementing the peer
feedback sessions, as they provide opportunities for collaboration and growth. The use of technology
tools like iMovie not only enhances student engagement but also fosters essential digital literacy skills
necessary for success today.
