MPACT TARGET BENEFICIARIES:

Mpact's approach to investing in corporate social responsibility includes engaging with communities
affected by its activities and collaborating with those interested in environmentally friendly projects.
It also fosters participation and collaboration among all stakeholders, especially employees, in all
activities. The Group's mission is to spread transparency and accountability ideals, such as good
governance, to all stakeholders. Mpact conducts surveys and feasibility assessments as needed to
guarantee that projects are efficiently carried out and viable in the long run, including recycling
programs. The organization prioritizes education, health, and fostering entrepreneurial growth.

1.EDUCATION:

Mpact is committed to improving programs that assist the growth of young kids and teens,
encouraging continuous development for entrepreneurship abilities, and fostering curiosity in math
and science by providing high-quality tertiary education possibilities, particularly for rural students.

 Community learnership programme:

In 2011, we launched the "Certificate in Management Development" learnership curriculum at our

Shared Services Centre, which is specifically tailored for youngsters with learning difficulties. Five
students in their senior year of high school were picked from local schools based on their skill level
and ability to blend in with the Shared Services environment. The program was run in collaboration
with Maccauvlei Learning Academy, which was accredited by Services SETA, and included both
academic training and on-the-job coaching from Mpact personnel. The curriculum enabled all five
students succeed in attaining the NQF4 qualification in 2012.

Piet Retief Education Centre:

This relationship, which includes Mondi Limited's South Africa Division, Kangra Coal (Proprietary)
Limited, the Mpumalanga Department of Education, and the larger community of the Gert Sibande
region, is gathering momentum and expanding. In 2012, a total of 23,187 individuals, including
learners, teachers, and local residents, accessed and benefited from the facility, which includes a
career advisory center, science center, and a Further Education and Training (FET) skills development
center.

2. HEALTH:

Mpact's mission is to support, help, and participate in initiatives pertaining to women, youth, and
HIV/AIDS. It also supports orphan care facilities, which serve as essential community resources by
raising awareness and fostering excellence in childcare.

• Isibindi project:

This ongoing initiative, run in collaboration with Mondi Limited, intends to provide childcare and
youth programming education to residents in Mkhondo, KwaZuluNatal. In 2012, a generous
contribution ensured an ongoing supply of antiretroviral (AVR) medications, HIV/AIDS assistance,
educational tasks, financial planning, child safety, and assistance in obtaining identity documents,
government aid, and foster care, all of which are critical components of the initiative. The project has
an impact on 571 vulnerable and orphaned kids from 46 villages in Mkhondo's remote regions.
• 1000 Hills Community Helpers:

Mpact gives financial assistance to 1,000 Hills Community Volunteers to help with their efforts to
feed, clothe, and educate HIV/AIDS-affected children and adults. Every day, the Helpers distribute
over 1,000 meals to children and the elderly, either in the Center or delivered to their homes, in
addition to other essential services and outreach programs.

3.ENTREPRENEURIAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES:

The Entrepreneurial Development Programmes promote fairness and economic progress in the
community, with a focus on the underprivileged and marginalized.

• N2 Community Garden:

Felixton Mill established the N2 local vegetable garden in 2011 to help gardeners in small towns like
Eskihawini earn money by cultivating and selling products to neighbors and Mpact employees. The
Mpact's land along the N2 is used by the residents to cultivate crops, which are then sold at adjacent
taxi ranks and marketplaces. Mpact is also in charge of preparing the soil and water supply so that
gardeners can earn a consistent income. The organization attained full financial independence in
2012 after receiving a contribution of vegetable plants. Mpact deems this project to have succeeded
since it has met objectives by allowing the local people to create an ongoing revenue by marketing
their produce locally.

• Orion Organisation:

The Orion Organisation, based in Atlantis in the Western Province of South Africa, provides medical
care and education to people with impairments. Its primary goal is to empower individuals and
cultivate skills in order to integrate people with impairments into community as active members.
Mpact Plastic Containers delegated a significant percentage of its assembly activities to Orion, which
provides chances for employment development. For more than a decade, the two organizations have
worked together.

Overcoming Obstacles: Strategies to Ensure the Success of the MPACT Initiative

Mobilizing Resources

Resource mobilization is a major obstacle to the achievement of the MPACT Project. To overcome
this issue, joint efforts must be made to widen financing sources and engage a diverse range of
stakeholders. This entails contacting authorities, international organizations, charitable foundations,
and the commercial sector. Furthermore, alternative fundraising strategies such as crowdsourcing
campaigns and public-private partnerships can be considered to supplement present financing
sources.

Working together in a partnership and collaborating with others.

Collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders is required to fully realize the advantages of the
MPACT Initiative. However, managing collaborations can be difficult due to opposing agendas and
coordination concerns. To solve this difficulty, the project must prioritize establishing clear
communication channels and creating governance measures that foster successful teamwork.
Stakeholder conferences, joint scheduling sessions, and the assignment of liaison officers can all help
partners coordinate and collaborate more effectively.

Advancements in technology and innovation.

The MPACT Initiative's difficulties can be solved with game-changing innovations and technology.
Nonetheless, issues may develop due to the limited availability of digital and technological
infrastructures in some African countries. To solve this difficulty, the project must promote
technology transfer and increase access to digital technologies. This includes using mobile
technology to provide services, data analytics to make evidence-based decisions, and assisting
innovation centers to develop solutions in response to local needs.

Enhancing skills and knowledge to improve proficiency.

Enhancing the abilities and assets of local groups and neighborhoods is critical for the MPACT
Initiative's long-term success. This involves training, technical support, and knowledge sharing to
empower stakeholders at all levels. By improving the capacity of local communities, the project can
encourage endurance and continuity, allowing African nations to better deal with impending
challenges and problems.

Communication and support for a cause:

Successful interaction and advocacy are crucial to generating support, raising awareness, and
mobilizing funds for the MPACT Initiative. This includes engaging with stakeholders through targeted
outreach programs, media campaigns, and communications operations. By openly stating the
initiative's aims, accomplishments, and obstacles, it can build confidence and credibility while
addressing concerns such as misleading information, doubt, and apathy.
