Wheatstone LNG Platform base structure (float-over installation) fabricated (35,000 t) in Okpo, Korea and float-off western
Australia - located 225km from the Onslow coast by ballasting, platform float over deck system (45,000 t) were installed by
jacking up by Hereema 851 vessel.

Responsibilities:
- Led construction on 35K ton steel structure, fabrication of 15K pipe spools, and installation of 25K ton equipment packages.

Senior Project Engineer – Twin Pipe Lay Vessel


Sydney Desalination Sub-sea Pipeline ($660 m)
On secondment to the ‘Water Delivery Alliance’ which includes Sydney Water, McConnell Dowell, Bovis Lend Lease,
KBR, Worley Parsons and Environmental Resource Management, I worked as the Senior Engineer on the Botany Bay
Crossing section of the Sydney Desalination Plant Distribution Network project.

The Alliance successfully completed the crossing of Botany Bay which included the world first tandem laying of twin 1,422
mm diameter pipes for a total distance of 7,015m across Botany. The pipes were installed from a purpose built lay barge
called the Nebula. The 100 m by 30 m wide and 35 m high pipe lay vessel was delivered to site on 14 February 2009,
commissioned on 29 April 2009 and was working nearly 24 hours a day for most of the duration of the pipe lay over about
5 months (April - August). Separate supply barges transferred the 12 m long pipes each weighing 32 t from the temporary
wharf facilities on the shore at Kyeemagh out to the lay barge. The pipes were steel cement lined (SCL) with an extra
external 130 mm concrete coating cast on the pipe to aid in ensuring the pipe did not float during installation. Over 60
men manned the barge per shift accumulating 120,000 man-hours.

Reporting directly to the Project manager, my key responsibilities and duties are as follows:

• Coordinate with Managers and Superintendents on Engineering, temporary works, scheduling and status of the
project.
• Provide overall progress reports and other reports related to schedule and cost as required by the Project
Manager.
• Provide general technical assistance to supervisory personnel.
• Interpret engineering documents and drawings for field personnel.
• Control fabrication and field construction engineering and schedules for overall programs.

CBD Metro PRI-1 Works Tender ($2.0Billion)

The proposed CBD Metro will be the first project of a Sydney-wide metro network delivering significant economic benefits
for Sydney and NSW.

The CBD Metro is a 7km long metro railway from Rozelle to Central, with new stations at Rozelle, Pyrmont, Barangaroo-
Wynyard, Martin Place, Town Hall Square and Central. Further, the provision of infrastructure at White Bay would allow
for a future station in this location.

The metro railway alignment would be primarily within underground twin tunnels.

• The proposed alignment would allow for extension of the CBD Metro to the West (Parramatta) via the Inner West
from Central; and future extensions to the North West from Rozelle.

Responsibilities:

• Co-ordinate with Urban specialist consultant, preparing and developing presentation for, access for construction,

Jumeirah coastal zone development – Phase I

Scope of work

• Modification of the offshore breakwater (200 metres) and construction of a new North breakwater, as well as
construction of new offshore breakwater sections (500 metres).
• A quay wall police docking facility, several pre-cast concrete beach structures, an amphitheatre and spectator
steps were provided. High end finishes to the paving (water-cut mosaics) and crest wall units (sand blasted
patterns and natural stone cladding) were taken care of and tree pits and planters including irrigation were
constructed.
• The MEP works included sewerage lines, electricity lines, potable water lines and lighting.

Duties:

• Total plant surveying and setting out, preparing bill of quantities, Bar bending schedules and Mill foundation
markings.
• Provide overall progress reports and other reports related to schedule and cost as required by the Project
Manager.
• Provide general technical assistance to supervisory personnel.
• Interpret engineering documents and drawings for field personnel.
• Monitor and coordinate the preparation maintenance and change of construction schedules, methods, manning
charts and equipment requirements. Advise on actions to be taken to prevent or improve undesirable trends in
progress.
• Ensure the currency and accuracy of information for schedules and reports; provide timely submission of reports
and project schedules.
• Ensure temporary works designs and fabrications are verified prior to use of the specific item
