I would like to thank my Lokseva teachers for helping me understand the concepts related to
quadrilaterals. Further I would like to acknowledge that the information and figures displayed
in the portfolio are gathered using Google as a search engine online. I would also like to thank
my parents for helping in compiling and presenting all the information gathered.

2. A cuboid has 6 faces, 12 edges and 8 vertices
3. The faces of the cuboid are all rectangular in shape
4. Opposite edges of cuboid are parallel to each other
5. Angles formed at the vertices of the cuboid are all 90 degrees
6. The surface area of a cuboid is the sum of areas of all its six rectangular
faces.

Cylinder
1. A cylinder has two flat faces and one curved face
2. It has one curved surface, two curved edges, and two flat circular faces.
3. The two flat circular bases are congruent to each other.
4. It does not have any vertex.
5. The size of a cylinder depends upon the radius of a circular base
and its height.
6. The total surface area of the cylinder is equal to the sum of its curved
surface area and area of the two circular bases.
7. It does not have any angles Total Surface Area : 2πr(r +h )
8. The volume of the cylinder is the amount of space it occupies Lateral Surface Area : 2π r h
Volume : πr2h

Cone
1. A cone is a three-dimensional shape that has a circular base and it
narrows down to a sharp point called a vertex.
2. The total surface area of a cone is defined as the area covered by
its base and the curved part of the cone
3. The three elements of the cone are its radius, height, and slant height.
4. The slant height 'l' is defined as the distance between the apex of the
cone to any point on the circumference of the cone.
5. There is one face, one vertex, and no edges for a cone.
6. A cone that has its apex right above the circular base at a
Total Surface Area : πr(l + r)
perpendicular distance is called a right circular cone. Lateral Surface Area : π r l
7. A right circular cone has its vertex opposite to the circular base. Volume : ⅓ πr2h
8. An oblique cone does not have its vertex directly opposite to the Units
circular base. Total Surface Area – Square Units
Volume – Cubic units

2. A sphere is not a polyhedron
3. All the points on the surface are equidistant from the center.
4. A sphere does not have a surface of centers
5. A sphere has constant mean curvature.
6. A sphere has a constant width and circumference.
7. The contours and plane sections of the sphere are circles.
8. The sphere has constant width and constant girth

Hemisphere
1. The hemisphere is the exact half of a sphere, they share very similar
properties as well.
2. A hemisphere has a curved surface area.
3. Like a sphere, there are no edges and no vertices in a hemisphere
4. It is not a polyhedron since polyhedrons are made up of polygons, a
hemisphere has one circular base and one curved surface.
5. The diameter of a hemisphere is a line segment that passes
through the center and touches the two opposite points on the base of
the hemisphere.
Total Surface Area : 3πr2
6. The radius of a hemisphere is a line segment from the center to a Lateral Surface Area : 2πr2
point on the surface of the hemisphere.. Volume : (2πr3)/3
7. The great circle of a sphere forms as the base of the hemisphere Units
which is the flat side. It is created when a plane intersects the center Total Surface Area – Square Units
