LIFE ORIENTATION

REVISION BOOKLET
2024 TERM 1
Grade 11
This revision program is designed to assist you in revising the critical
content and skillsthat you have covered during the 1st term. The purpose
is to prepare you to understand the key concepts and to provide you
with an opportunity to establish the required standard and the
application of the knowledge necessary to succeed in the examination.

Dear Grade 11 Learner


Even though we no longer experience the extremes of the COVID 19

pandemic, its impact is still felt in many societies. South Africa’s new

challenge includes loadshedding as we go through the different levels with all

its challenges. Various measure were put and are still in place to prevent the

spread of the pandemic – the challenge of loadshedding brings with it, its very

own unique challenges.

Throughout the pandemic many have lost loved ones and breadwinners.

Loadshedding has increased the loss in livelhoods as many business are

forced to downsize. But, you must always remember to remain focused on

your goals. You are encouraged to stay disciplined, persevere and keep on

keeping on!!!!!

(B.Ed) and the medical field. She loves helping people and organising things. At school she
is part of the events organising team, first aid team and tutors after school to help the
younger grades. She is making the final decisions about her career path.

So many Grade 12 learners cannot think about further studies because of the
availability of finances. COVID -19, together with loadshedding in many cases
worsen the situation.

DEMOCRACY AND HUMAN RIGHTS

Read the extract below and answer the questions that follow:
SOUTH AFRICA IS A DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY

General elections were held in South Africa in 2019. A new national assembly and a new provincial
legislature for each province were elected.

That was the sixth election since the end of the apartheid systems in 1994, and the beginning of our
country’s democracy. Most South Africans hoped for good governance.
