COURSE : SECOND YEAR GNM NURSING
PURPOSE : The main purpose of the basic diploma course in nursing is to provide an educational program me
through which thebasic diploma course in nursing will be prepared to assume responsibility in primary ,
secondary and tertiary care of people is a professional nurse . it is expected that basic diploma course in
nursing are capable of teaching and supervising appropriate Nursing and health care settings and participate in
administration of nursing services and education

disease. They shall be able to give comprehensive nursing care to patient with these diseases

Upon completion of this course, the students shall able to:
1. Describe the cause, symptoms, treatment and prevention of Medical Surgical Diseases.
2. Demonstrate skill in carrying out nursing technique and procedures with the applicant of scientific
principles.
3. Discuss nursing process and provide nursing care to patients with medical surgical/ diseases
4 Plan and carry out appropriate action to meet nursing needs.
5 Provide effective nursing care for maintain best possible level of health in all aspects.
6 Promote self care in people under their care.
7 Apply problem solving techniques in nursing practice.
8 Evaluate effectiveness of nursing care.
9 Apply problem solving techniques in nursing practice.
10 Evaluate effectiveness of nursing care.
11 Demonstrate interest in activities of professional organization.
