Introdcution
Astrology can be learned in a snap shot fashion of learning many isolated principles, concepts and yogas so that
when the astrologer looks at a horoscope they see some things they have learned and are able to make some
interpretations and predictions. Ideally, however, astrology is best learned in a systematic manner beginning with
the required foundational knowledge and completing with a scientific process of chart interpretation that allows
for statistically replicable predictions of high accuracy. In this section you will find courses designed in such a way.
Courses are divided into three types: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Beginner courses are those courses
where you will learn the all important basics without which it is just not possible to do any astrology. These courses
are often prerequisites for Intermediate and Advanced Courses. You will learn a great deal of critical principles in
these courses that many professional astrologers are unaware of, due to the fact that so many practicing astrolo-
gers have a weak foundation. These are critical courses in which you will learn a lot of things that are new to you
even if you have studied astrology for years. These are beginner courses only in the sense that you will need these
courses if you are beginning your study with me, not due to just starting out studying.
Intermediate Courses is where you will find the many techniques that you will use to read a horoscope and make
predictions. These are the bread and butter courses for the practicing astrologer. Some of these courses are also
Prerequisite Courses for the Advanced Courses. Certifications can be earned for Intermediate Courses.
Advanced Courses build upon the techniques learned in the Intermediate Courses to allow for a greater degree of
detail and accuracy in your readings, making you the best astrologer possible. You have to understand any Prerequisite
Intermediate Courses perfectly before moving on to studying Advanced Courses. Advanced Courses are not any
harder than any other courses, but you do have to know your material extremely well or else you will get lost. So if
you find these courses difficult, it means you need to go back and restudy the Beginner and Intermediate Courses.
Certifications can be earned for Advanced Courses.
You will also find Archive Courses in the Menu. These are courses that are soon to be taught again with improvements
and with better software calculations and better tables in Kala Vedic Astrology Software. I do not recommend
that you take these courses, but rather that you wait for the new course. However, if you have already started the
course, it is available so that you can complete it.
Subscribed members of this site may also download an audio version of this course at no additional charge: Jyotish
Building Blocks Audio Course.
Graha Sutras
Graha Sutras is the name of my book about the planets. It is also the name of an audio course that follows the book.
As of yet, I have not put all the planetary information into video. While some of the material in the Graha Sutras
book has been covered in video, most of it has not. To learn all about the planets, therefore, please order the Graha
Sutras Book book or Graha Sutras Audio Course. The book is especially useful as planets are something that you
will constantly want to look up information on and so the book is a great reference.
Rasi Sutras
Rasi Sutras is the name of a book in progress that is all about the Signs of the Zodiac. I currently have the rough
draft of the book along with extensive audio classes in the Rasi Sutras Audio Course. The material in that course
will eventually be covered in video, but knowing about the Rasis is not something you can wait for, so please do get
the Rasi Sutras Audio Course (which also has the rough draft book that you will refer to all the time), or the book
when it becomes available.
In this course you will come to understand the astronomical and mythological natures of Rahu and Ketu. You will
learn how to read their effects upon the person’s behaviour and needs. You will learn how to predict the effects of
Rahu and Ketu in the Rasi and all the other Varga charts. You will learn about the critical times for Rahu and Ketu
and how they are linked to the critical time of Saturn. Finally, you will learn about their effect in relationship compat-
ibility. In short, you will master Rahu and Ketu and an astrologer who can master Rahu and Ketu can answer most
of their clients most pressing concerns:
Mastering Debilitation
One of the most common questions I get from students is about the effects of a debilitated planet, especially can-
cellation of debilitation and Neechabhanga Raja Yogas. It is an unfortunate thing but these things are nowhere in
one place covered in full – thus this course. You will get the most out of this course if you have taken the Judging
Bhavas Course and the Lajjitaadi Avasthas Course as I will refer to principles taught in those courses.
Please download the Mastering Debilitation Manual before watching any of these videos.

Interpretating Debilitated Planets
Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra contains five critical parts: Important Yogas, or planetary permutations that yoke the
native to a particular effect; A mathematical formula for judging Yogas; A super formula for analyzing Planets and
Houses in order to make predictions about anything and all; Vargas, or divisional charts; and Calculations and use
of Nakshatra based Dasas such as Vimshottari Dasa. In this Yoga Judgment course I will teach the mathematical
formula for judging Yogas (along with Yogas of course). In a subsequent course I will teach the formula for analyzing
Planets and Houses. In both courses heavy use will be made of both Vargas and Dasas, both of which are integral
to using any of Parashara’s techniques.
Prerequisites: This course requires the complete understanding of the principles taught in the Jyotish Building
Blocks Course, so make sure you have studied that course.

Blocks Course, so make sure you have studied that course.
Please download the Parashara’s Formula for Bhava Judgment Manual before watching any of the remaining videos.
Interpretating Avashthas
Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra provides several types of Avasthas or planetary conditions that reveal both the pre-
dictive influence as well as the behavioral influence of a planet. In several courses I use the different Avasthas for
predictive purposes. The future, however, is created by our behavior and so Avasthas also reveal critical aspects of
a person’s behaviour that make or break their successes. In this course I will speak at length about the behavioral
and character effects of the different Avasthas. These interpretations will provide the backbone to your predictions
for it is these behaviours that unerringly bring the predicted future upon the indiviudal. When life comes upon a
person in an undersirable way, it is these interpretations that will show why these things have happened. When
life is productive, it is these interpretations that will show the strengths of the individual that made life prosperous
and fulfilling. If your goal is to counsel your clients and thus enrich their lives, then Interpreting Avasthas is a must.
In this relatively simple course I will talk about the psychological aspects of the Bhavas, the timing of important ages
of psychological development by means of Tajika aspects, and the great success possible as per Brihat Parashara
Hora Sastra’s principles of Mutual Yoga Karakas, an important predictive technique in itself. This course is a great
example of how two powerful systems can work together to reveal the entirety of a horoscope and reveal both
the psychological stresses within a person as well as whether they will rise above their psychological and familial
limitations.
holistic method of predicting events with transits without resorting to Dasas or other timing methods. This exclusive
method of using transits is very accurate and the most effective technique for rectifying a horoscope. So why were
transits not emphasized by the ancient authors of Indian Astrology? Due to the fact that transits, calculating a life-
time of transits, would take weeks or work while Dasas for the entire life can be calculated in less than 10 minutes
by an experienced astrologer and thus Dasas were given preference. With computer software, however, we do not
suffer these same limitations as we can easily view transits. As good as Dasas are, transits should not be ignored
and even in conjunction with Dasas if you want to predict the very day of an event, the method of transits from
Phaladeepika that I am teaching here is the way to do it.
Prerequisites: This course requires the understanding of many principles taught in the Jyotish Building Blocks
Course, so make sure you have studied that course.
Please download the Predicting With Transits Manual before watching any of these videos.
Rectification
Rectification is an extremely important part of predictive astrology. Without perfect time it is not possible to make
consistent accurate predictions. Only a few seconds of difference in birth time will create a world of difference in
what actually happens in a person’s lifetime. These differences are indicated in the several Varga charts where two
different Bhava Cusps will change in at least one Varga every 8 seconds on the average. Thus even if time is off by
only 1 minute, that can add up to 14 Bhava cusps being incorrect in some Vargas. For the general type of read-
ings that most astrologers do, time within 5 minutes is accurate enough, but for exact predictions using scientific
techniques the birth time must be very precise.
There is no such thing as a rectification technique (other than attempting to do so with a Prasna chart), rather
every technique that you learn is also a rectification technique as rectification is simply a matter of examining the
horoscope in light of past events with some technique that you have mastered. If you want to rectify a chart, you
have to have mastery in some technique, otherwise it is just blind guesswork. I have two favorite ways to rectify a
chart: through the individual’s career in light of Jaimini techniques; through trigger transits that always happen when
an event happens. Of these two, I much prefer using trigger transits with which it is possible to easily and quickly
rectify any Varga and thus it is possible to rectify the chart exactly to a much greater degree of accuracy than any
other technique would allow. I will over time add different methods that work well for rectification, but the most
important and the one I always use is that of Trigger Transits, transits that trigger an event the day it happens. By
far the most easy and accurate way to rectify a chart exactly and confidently is through the use of trigger transits
as shown in the following videos.
Prerequisites: In order to rectify a chart with transits you will need to have taken and mastered the Predicting with
Transits Course.
More Rectification Examples will be added as I do them for clients who give me permission to use their charts as
examples.
My Classical Muhurta course is based on the principles found in the two great works of Muhurta: the famous North
Indian text: Muhurta Chintamani and the famous South Indian text: Kalaprakasika. Between both these texts are
found the complete Muhurta system. The course follows my book Classical Muhurta.

Longevity
In ancient days, longevity predictions were one of the first things an astrologer did so as to insure that they would
not predict anything beyond the person’s length of life. While appearing dire, and thus many astrologers refrain
from learning this aspect of astrology, longevity predictions can be extremely useful. In most cases it is not helpful
to notify a client of thier time of death, however, in the event of a severe disease or life-threatening accident where
relatives are concerned about the possible death of the individual, an accurate longevity prediction can often ease
their fears. The techniques used to determine time of death are also very helpful in medical astrology for predict-
ing whether a disease will improve or not. My favorite aspect of longevity predictions is that dealing with traumatic
births that threaten the life or wellbeing of the child – using these techiques the astrologer can often ease the parents
fears with a positive prediction or urge them to caution in the care of their child if its longevity is indeed threatened.
In this longevity course we will first tackle the rules for determining infant fatality or early death. Following that we
will cover the rules for determining length of life and time of death using Nakshatra dasas and Maraka “killer” Grahas.
The course will conclude with Jaimini’s techniques for predicting length of life and death. This will be drawn out
course of which I will do one section at a time beginning with infant mortality.
Vargas in Depth
Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra gives calculations for sixteen different Varga charts. And while he does give some
bits of information on each Varga, every astrologer feels in his bones that there is just so much to Vargas, but what?
Parashara answers a large portion of that question by assigning deities to each Varga. He answers the remaining
part of that question by the very mathematics of the Vargas. The key to fully understanding and utilizing the Vargas
is, therefore, to deeply contemplate both the deities of the Vargas and the mathematics of the Vargas. Thus there
are three things required of us by Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra to understand the Vargas:
In addition to these three things, there are a few Yogas bearing on the Vargas scattered in in other ancient texts
that can help us understand a bit the Vargas. And for the more visual minded individual there are many wonderful
symbolic descriptions of many of the Vargas found in a couple of the earliest available Vedic Astrology texts. Both
these Yogas and symbolic descriptions will also be discussed in these videos.
You will get the most out of these videos if you have taken the Judging Bhavas course and the Lajitaadi Avasthas
course as the principles taught in those courses will be used extensively in the example charts in the Varga Course.
Indications of Vargas
Five Groups of Vargas
Primary & Secondary Bhava Effects of Vargas
This brings us to the end of the first Varga group, Vargas 1–12. The remaining Vargas of Brihat Parashara Hora Sas-
tra will be covered at a later time, early 2013. Before teaching the remaining Vargas, I will teach advanced Lajjitaadi
Avasthas courses and Advanced Judging Bhavas courses that utilize all of the mathematical principles of Vedic As-
trology: Ishta & Kashta, Subha & Asubha, Dig Bala, Shad Bala, calculated Balaadi Avasthas, calculated Jagradadi
Avasthas and calculated Rasi Degree placements; so that in the next set of Varga courses we will be able to see
very quickly and accurately exactly what each planet will do. It is important, however, to understand how the Lajji-
taadi Avasthas and Judging Bhavas principles work before boiling everything down to numbers, for which reason
I have taught the first twelve vargas without all the mathematical calculations. It is important, therefore, that at this
time you concentrate on mastering the principles taught thus far so that when you learn the additional mathemati-
cal calculations you will use them correctly and wisely.
Coming Early 2012: Shodasavarga, the 16th Varga, the Varga of vehicles & happiness.
COMPONENTS
Introduction
The astrological components are the most important thing to learn – learn these first. Ninety percent of questions
that students ask me are the result of their not knowing or understanding properly their astrological parts. If an
astrologer understands his astrological parts, then he will be able read many things from the chart even without
learning a single technique – when we know our parts, techniques naturally arise from our knowledge. When we
don’t know our parts, the best techniques fail.
10
Astrological Components are of two types: astronomical and symbolic. Astronomical components are the of
Bhavas (houses), Rasis (signs), Nakshatras, Tithis, Planetary War, Asta (combustion), Conjunctions, Aspects, etc.
In short, anything and everything that can be measured that takes place in the space around us in both a visual and
time-centered sense. Symbolic components are the meanings of the astrological parts such as the planets, Rasis,
Nakshatras, Bhavas, Vargas, etc. Astrological techniques are nothing more than combining astronomical relation-
ships with the symbolic meanings of the planets, Nakshatras, Bhavas, etc. For this reason the great Varaha Mihira
has stated that only the astrologer who is perfect in both astronomy and astrological symbolism can be correct. If
an astrologer does something incorrectly astronomically, they will calculate the technique incorrectly and thus their
predictions will fail.
I cannot stress the importance of refreshing your astronomical knowledge. There are many astronomical calcula-
tions being done by the majority of astrologers that are in conflict with the directions given in the ancient texts due
to astrologers of the past using easy short cut methods for calculating very difficult things – but now with comput-
ers making the difficult easy, it is time for us to get back on track and calculate things the way the ancient masters
have told us to. So please, do not skip over the astronomical component videos in this section. For that matter, do
not skip over any videos in this section – 90 percent of mistakes will not be made if you learn your components well.
I remember an ayurvedic physician who came to visit me long ago. He had just started to study astrology and all
he knew was three components: Plantary Aspects, Doshas of Planets and Doshas of Rasis. But he understood his
Doshas very, very well due to his practice as an ayurvedic physician. He proceeded to read charts in front of me to
extreme accuracy within the context of what the Doshas can tell about a person – even though he did not know a
single astrological technique. So study, study, study your astrological components, don’t think that they are “Basics”
they are the essence and foundation of your practice as an astrologer.
Planetary Aspects
Planetary Aspects need to be calculated out to their exact aspectual value in order to reveal ALL of their important
effects. This video explains how to use Planetary Aspects correctly in accordance with the directions given in Brihat
Parashara Hora Shastra.
Rasi Aspects
Rasi Aspects are the aspects that take place between the signs. They are every bit as important as planetary as-
pects and while a core component of Jaimini astrology, they are also very useful for predicting with transits.
In this Video I talk about the different chart styles: The square South Indian chart, the diamond style North Indian
chart and the relatively new Round Wheel chart favored by Western Astrologers. Each of these chart styles has its
advantages and each is designed for different types of astrological techniques.
Local Space
Local Space is the infinetely sized sphere of space surrounding your place of birth. Understanding local space is
critical in order to calculate Bhavas (Houses), Planetary War and Combustion correctly.
11
Planetary War
Planetary War, a critical part of planetary analysis and planetary strength, appears simple, but its calculation is
much more involved than most astrologers know. This video explains how planetary war is actually meant to be
calculated.
Prerequisites: Local Space, so that you understand the framework for determining planetary war.
Combustion
Moon at 12 degrees from the Sun, Mars at 17 degrees, Mercury at 14 degrees, Venus at 10, degrees Jupiter at 11
degrees and Saturn at 15 degrees from the Sun are commonly said to be the degrees of Combustion, however,
it is not such a simple matter. Learn the proper way to calculate combustion and what combustion really is in the
this video.
Prerequisites: Local Space, so that you understand the framework for determining combustion.
Please download the Planetary War Handout before listening to this video.
Bhava Systems
Bhavas are the concrete occuring events in life. Astronomically they are points measured on the zodiac, the lagna
being the first Bhava that all astrologers use. For precise predictions, all the other Bhava points must also be de-
termined, which can be a controversial subject as there are many methods for determining the Bhava Sphutas, or
exact Bhava Points. In this video you will learn the basic concepts behind the different Bhava Systems so that you
can pick out logical systems from illogical systems and so choose a system that gives effective predictive results.
Indications of Bhavas
The Bhavas represent the concrete, existing things that are predicted about. All the many elements in life are in-
dicated by one of the twelve Bhavas. Additionally, Bhavas represent our psychological relationship to the things
represented by the Bhavas and the psychological effect that these things and people have upon us.
Prerequisites: Bhava Systems, so that you understand the what I mean by the term Bhava.
In this video I will talk about the most important indications of each Bhava using the information given in Brihat
Parashara Hora Shastra as a foundation for using the Bhavas.
Prerequisites: Bhava Systems, so that you understand the Bhava system being used in the video.
In these three Sutras Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra gives the principles with which to judge a Bhava, which are the
subject matter of the following videos.

Prerequisites: These videos are part of the Judging Bhavas Course and I strongly recommend that you begin this
course at the beginning.
Next Steps…
Practice, practice, practice what you have learned in this course, it will serve you well. To better judge a Bhava Lord,
in fact, to judge it thouroughly, the next step in your studies should be the Lajjitaadi Avasthas Course. Between the
judging Bhavas principles and the Lajjitaadi Avasthas, you will be ready to make predictions – these techniques are
the heart of Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra’s predictive principles.
In a more advanced and much more accurate use, Lajjitaadi Avasthas should be used with standard Dasa Principles,
basically, using the 5 Levels of Vimshottari with each Dasa level being read from the previous Dasa level. We will
have many videos showing the use of the Dasas in that manner on this page as well.
Prerequisites: These videos are part of the Lajjitaadi Avasthas Course and so it is reccomended that you view this
as part of that course.

Indications of Vargas
Vargas are the key to making specific and accurate predictions. Vargas have a three-fold influence: They each represent
some area of life; they provide planets with a full array of dignities; and they provide each planet with an array of
symbolic dieties. The videos in this section will instruct on the area of life that each varga represents.
Rasi, Varga 1
The Rasi is the first and most important Varga. It is critical as the reference plane for plotting the positions of other
important points (planets, bhavas, lagnas, padas, etc.) and for calculating the other Varga charts. The Rasi must
be used correctly, for the purposes it is meant. It works with Bhavas, but does not replace Bhavas… learn this and
more in the following Video.
Hora, Varga 2
The Hora is the 2nd Varga and, unknown to most, one of the most revealing Vargas in astrology. All Vargas reveal
suprising mysteries, and this is particularly true of the Hora Varga.
Please download the Hora Varga Handout before listening to any of these videos.
Drekkana, Varga 3
The Drekkana is the 3rd Varga and, unknown to most, one of the foundation Vargas in astrology for it reveals our
ability to work with and be productive with all our associates and relatives while also revealing the Will of God that
is manifesting through us.
Please download the Drekkana Varga Handout before listening to any of these videos.
Chaturthamsa, Varga 4
The Chaturthamsa is the 4th Varga and important for determining just where the indiviudal is most fortunate in life.
It is particularly important for extreme wealth, stock investments, real estate, public success and business.
Please download the Chaturthamsa Varga Handout before listening to any of these videos.
Saptamsa, Varga 7
The Saptamsa is the 7th Varga and important for determining the individual’s dynasty, that which will survive them,
whether as children or whether as some great thing that they create. The Saptamsa Deities are particularly useful
and interesting.
Please download the Saptamsa Varga Handout before listening to any of these videos.

Navamsa, Varga 9
The Navamsa is the 9th Varga and important for determining the devotion and integrity the individual has to their
chosen life path and the meaning they derive from their life.
Please download the Navamsa Varga Handout before listening to any of these videos.
Dasamsa, Varga 10
The Dasamsa is the 10th Varga and important for determining the periods of great deeds and success. It is also
helpful for determining directions from which things may come into a person’s life.
Please download the Dasamsa Varga Handout before listening to any of these videos.
Dvadasamsa, Varga 12
Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra states that the Dwadasamsa indicates parents. Parents refers not only to the father
and mother, but to all the other parental ancestors that came before them, those in their past lineage: grandparents,
great grandparents, great-great grandparents, etc. The Dvadasamsa is the cumulative effect of the direct ancestors
and the affects the karmas of the ancestors have upon the life of the individual. It is, therefore, of great importance
with some texts givingit as much preference as the Navamsa

STRENGTH
Introduction
There are many, many types of astrological strengths: Shad Bala, strength due to dignity, exaltation strength,
strength due to a planet’s condition (its Avasthas), etc. Many of the most important and most useful astrological
techniques are presented to us by the ancient texts in the forms of these many types of strengths. These many
strengths and understanding their psychosocial and predictive values are the cornerstone of all systematic astro-
logical techniques. Learning these different strengths will, therefore, provide you with most of what you need in
order to predict future events.
Prerequisites: These videos are part of the Parashara’s Formula for Yoga Judgment Course and I strongly recom-
mend that you begin this course at the beginning.
Lajjitaadi Avasthas
Planetary Relationships are on of the most important factors to consider whether reading a horoscope or making
predictions. Both Natural Relationships and Combined Relationships have their important place in predicitve as-
trology and these relationships are the key to understanding whether a planet will be a supportive or destructive
force in the horoscope. Watch these videos in the order presented below.

ogy and these relationships are the key to understanding whether a planet will be a supportive or destructive force
in the horoscope. Watch these videos in the order presented below.
Prerequisites: Planetary Relationships, so that you understand the proper, astronomically centered method of
determining planetary relationships.
Debilitation
Debilitation is a simple concept in astrology, but one which has several different ramifications. While there are lots of
rules floating around about how to judge a debilitated planet, I still get asked by students about debilitated planets
all the time and for good reason. Watch these videos to see why Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra ignores all the com-
monly known ideas about debilitation and instead focuses on the foundation techniques of astrology. These videos
are best watched as part of the Mastering Debilitation course.

Dig Bala
Dig Bala is the directional strength of a planet dependent upon its position in the North, East, South or West. Dig
Bala is an important component in Shad Bala; it has its own interpretation in the behavior of the individual; and it is
one of the three important mathematical calculations of strengths that is to be used, not in an isolated manner, but
in conjunction with other strengths to assist in quantifying a Graha’s effects.
Prerequisites: This video is part of the Parashara’s Formula For Yoga Judgment Course and I strongly recommend
that you begin that course at the beginning.
YOGAS
Introduction
“Yoga means that which joins or yokes. Purusha is that which has a body. Planetary Yogas connect the Purusha
with Karma Phalas (the results of actions). From their permutations, planets indicate how the Purusha is yoked to
Karma Phala.” – Prasna Marga: 9, 48
Thus Prasna Marga succinctly tells us exactly what a Yoga is. Yogas are off four types: Foundational Yogas, Named
Yogas, Unique Bhava Yogas and Redundant Bhava Yogas.
Foundational Yogas are those planetary configurations that set us up to strong or weak foundation. Those Foun-
dational Yogas which yoke us to a strong foundation help us to grow into happier, more successful people who
are able to make the most of our opportunities and abilities. Those Foundational Yogas which yoke us to a weak
foundation temp us to greater decay, lesser happiness and squandering our abilities and the opportunities that life
gives us. Foundational Yogas are not Dasa dependent, which means, they are not used for timing the good and
bad periods in life. Favorable Foundational Yogas make all the good stuff in our charts better and the bad stuff less
malignant. Difficult Foundational Yogas make all the good stuff in our charts less and the bad stuff more significant.
Foundation Yogas consist of Nabhasa Yogas, Pancha Mahapurusha Yogas, Solar Yogas, Lunar Yogas, Lagna Yogas,
Malika Yogas as well as a few other miscellaneous Yogas. These Yogas are all very, very important and must be
learned by every astrologer who wishes to know where their client is at in this lifetime. In my opinion, an astrologer
who does not know these Foundational Yogas has no business reading horoscopes as they will simply not be able
to see into the heart of the person. Nabhasa Yogas are of the greatest importance.
In addition to the Foundation Yogas there are also some important Yogas that are used for timing events with the
Dasas, but which also reveal many foundational strengths and focuses. These are very important Yogas, such the
Yoga Karakas principles of auspicious and inauspicious house lords. These Yogas are amongst the most important
Yogas to learn as they will be present in every horoscope.
Next in importance are the Named Yogas. These are the Yogas that are actually given specific names by the ancient
astrologers, such as Laksmi Yoga, Parvata Yoga, Gaja Kesari Yoga, etc. There are approximately 108 such Yogas.
These Yogas are important and signaled out by their special names due to their having a twofold effect in the horo-
scope: They have a character building foundational effect as do the Foundational Yogas, though to a lesser degree
of importance; and they are Dasa dependent, which is to say, they are used for predicting future events. These
Yogas particularly indicate periods of success, wealth and upliftment. Every astrologer will eventually want to learn
all these Named Yogas – though learning the Foundational Yogas is a much higher priority.
After the astrologer learns his Astrological Components well and learned some systematic systems of predictions
with which to tackle any question, they will naturally aspire to specialize in some area of greatest interest to them
be it Relationship Astrology, Financial Astrology, Medical Astrology, Predicting Elections, etc.
To help in this specialization the ancient astrologers have given us literally hundreds of Yogas for each Bhava with
specific effects for each area of life that we could imagine. These Yogas are great snap-shot techniques for helping
us predict correctly in these defined areas. These Yogas, however, are not all created equal. 90% of these Yogas are
simply redundant principles that an astrologer who learns a scientific system of astrology need not burden himself
with. In the dark middle ages astrologers regularly learned to read a horoscope by memorizing as many Yogas as
they could, memorizing literally thousands of Yogas. In the past 150 years or so with the dawn of our solar system
20
having moved appreciably closer to the Galactic Center (the center of Universal Intelligence in our galaxy) astrolo-
gers are relearning the ancient and holistic predictive systems of Parasara and Jaimini which have been largely ig-
nored in preference of learning Yogas during the past 2–3000 years. Now, relying on intelligence and understanding
over blind memorization, the astrologer is better off learning astrological systems and ignoring all these Redundant
Bhava Yogas. 10% or so of these Yogas, however, are very unique. They do not seem to follow the rules outlined by
the systematic schools of Parasara and Jaimini – and they work. The astrologer who is ready to specialize in some
area will do well to learn these handfuls of Unique Bhava Yogas. Many times one of these Yogas will just pop out
on us as we read a chart and spell out the answer perfectly.

Vipareet Yoga
The Yoga forming Grahas taught by Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra and detailed in the Yoga Karakas and Natures of
House Lords Videos put a person firmly on the path of Dharma, of following the inspiration that comes from their
own nature and creative intelligence. Essentially in that chapter Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra gives the rules for
determining how smooth or not the path of life is. Following inspiration makes for the most smooth path possible
and helps a person sail over the troubles and pains that plague man. Certain Grahas, as detailed in the mentioned
videos, can obstruct this smooth sailing path of Inspiration. But what are those potentially obstructing Grahas doing
when they are not obstructing Yoga producers? They allow us to take care of those other parts of life that are also
21
necessary to survival, balance and happiness – they represent all the other things that we have to do in life in order
to survive and grow. Some people do this very effectively, others do it inefficiently and thus they have less time
to devote to their inspirations. This is different from when a Graha obstructs an inspired Yoga Graha, in that case
the inspiration flounders. Taking care of other areas of life does not flounder the inspiration, it only gives less time
to do it. Thus the individual who is most productive in their inspiration is the one who not only has unstoppable
inspiration, but who also takes care of the less exciting aspects of life very effectively, thereby leaving an abundant
amount of time to fulfill their inspirations and to produce greater success. In these videos I will teach the principles
with which to examine these other Grahas.

TRANSITS
Introduction
Transits have many uses and have the advantage of being very concrete. By concrete I mean that the planet is there
in the heavens influencing your planets in a visibly obvious way. Compare that to Dasas where you have to wonder
why the Dasa work they way that they do! The truth is that transits, when used completely, are more accurate than
Dasas. Dasas are very simple; in a few minutes based on the position of the Moon an astrologer can calculate the
Dasas for the entire life of a person. Because of their simplicity, they are a little vague at times, still worth using, but
difficult to catch EVERY event. Calculating transits completely for a person for just one year will take many, many
times longer. Dasas have the advantage of being easy to calculate and in a medieval time without computers, it is
easy to see how they gained prominence in timing events. And Dasas can be great, however, Transits work better
– IF they are done completely and to do that is an amazing amount of work. How much work? To give you an idea,
it takes my computer 4 seconds to calculate transits for one year for one Bhava! But that technique will give much,
much better results than will Dasas.
There are basically five ways in which transits may be used: Gocara from the Moon, Ashtakavarga, as Event Triggers,
to make Perfect Predictions, and for Mundane (world event) Astrology.
The most basic method of using transits is to consider the Gocara (transit) from the position of the natal Moon. This
gives a simple understanding of the ups and downs a person will be experiencing with their lives. It shows how
motivated they are to get behind different things in their life at different times. Since motivation is, to a great degree,
a reflection of what is happening in our lives, Gocara from the Moon is a useful, though simple, tool for predicting
the ups and downs in life.
Ashtakavarga is a more evolved system of using transits and includes within it all of Gocara from the Moon. Ash-
takavarga has the advantage, however, of showing not only how the individual will get behind the different things in
t heir lives, but how everything else also supports or burdens everything else in their lives. It is much more accurate
than using Gocara from the Moon by itself and reveals a much better profile of the ups and downs in a person’s live
based on all the factors in their lives, not just the self-created ups and downs. Gocara from the Moon shows what
the individual is doing to create their circumstances; therefore, it is important to always consider Gocara from the
Moon as a priority part of Ashtakavarga. Ashtakavarga can also be used for determining favorable times to perform
an action, for timing windows during which specific events may occur, for determining things such as the direction
one will find their spouse, how a person should set their house up, how many children they may have, etc. It is really
a complete system that goes beyond transits.
One of my favorite ways to use transits is as Event Triggers to time an event foreseen with the Dasas to the exact
day. After determining the window of opportunity though the help of the Dasas, finding a relevant Event Trigger will
reveal the exact day that the event takes place. Using this technique with Vimshottari Dasa allowed me to predict
the day I met my wife. Using Event Triggers is a lot of fun – it is a lot of fun to predict the exact day of an event!
The most involved way as well as the most accurate use of Transits allows for making Perfect Predictions on all
areas of life without any use of Dasas – predictions are all done through transits alone. This technique requires a lot
of calculations, heavy use of Vargas and it is fail proof, IF the birth time is correct. If the birth time is a bit off, then
an astrologer will be better off using Dasas to make their predictions which, when combined with intuition, can get
around a couple minutes of wrong birth time better than can a perfectly scientific technique such as this. So the
one liability of making all predictions with transits alone is that the chart must first be examined in the light of past
24
events and its time adjusted to perfection. I probably will not be teaching this technique until I have finished building
a rectification module that uses the technique to correct even the smallest errors in birth times.
Mundane Astrology, the predicting of world events, is largely done through the use of transits and through the use
of transit charts, meaning calculating a horoscope for the moment of some important planetary event, such as the
Sun coming to the Vernal Equinox each year, the time of exact eclipse, or the time of the Sun entering Ardra Nakshatra
(at which point the Earth is closest to the Galactic Center).
As can be seen, transits deserve a lifetime of study; the place to begin with is Gocara from the Moon, which, thanks
to its simplicity, can be used effectively with little practice.
Ashtakavarga System
Ashtakavarga is a vast system of astrology that makes heavy use of transits, though it is not limited to transits and
also allows for horoscope analysis, date planning and Feng Shui type practices.

TAJIIKA / PRASHNA
Introduction
Prasna, answering a question based on the chart for the moment that the question is asked, is one of the most
useful aspects of astrology. Prasna can even be used for difficult things such as finding lost items. There are many,
many Prasna techniques from very advanced texts such as Prasna Marga, to very basic techniques as generally
come upon. My two favorite schools of Prasna are that of the South Indian Astrologers as outlined extensively in
Prasna Marga and the Tajika System. Tajika system is easier and extremely accurate, whereas the Prasna Marga
system provides techniques for dealing with things ignored by the Tajika system, even such things as possession.
Generally it is best to begin with the Tajika system for two reasons: it is the easiest system of astrology to learn that
is more accurate than most systems and no less accurate than the best systems; and it is also a complete predic-
tive system for use with the natal chart.
Tajika Astrology is actually Persian (known as Tajika in ancient days) astrology preserved in India. Western Astrol-
ogy has its roots in Persian Astrology and surprisingly Persian Astrology is better preserved in India than anywhere
else in the world. Tajika Astrology revolves around Solar Returns, known as Varshaphala and has simple specific
principles that work with an amazing degree of accuracy. These same principles are used in Prasna, so learning the
Tajika system will quickly make a person a well rounded astrologer who can make predictions from the natal chart
as well as one who can answer specific questions based on the Prasna chart. I tell my students who want to learn
to predict concrete events to learn the Tajika system, it is the easiest to learn and it is much easier to foresee events
with it than it is with other systems, which generally require many more years of diligent study to use properly. The
Tajika System is not as accurate as my Transit system of foretelling events, but it does not suffer from the need for
perfect birth time, so I would say, overall it is the best technique to use, especially if one wants to jump into making
predictions as soon as possible.
At this time I will mostly be concentrating on Prasna Videos including Prasna videos using Tajika techniques rather
than making videos on Varshaphala as I have a very solid audio Varshaphala course which I would recommend to
you. This course is available to learn at www.vedic-astrology.net/Courses/Tajika-Courses.asp.
Prashna is not limited to the casting of horoscopes in order to answer a question, but also includes the science of
Omens as well as Svara Sastra – the science of breath. Svara Ssastra is paying attention to the closest omen to
us, that of the inflow and outflow of our own breath. Svara Shastra was such a respected science in ancient India
that it has been said that “only the astrologer who knows Svara Sastra can be correct in all cases.” I will therefore
also include videos on Omens and Svara Sastra which have the advantage of being usable at times when casting
a horoscope is not possible.
Please download the Tajika Relationships and Aspects handout before listening to this video.
Ashtamangalam Number
The Ashtamangalam Number is wonderfully accurate technique that the astrologer can resort to for on the spot
readings and predictions even when being unable to cast a horoscope.
Prerequisites: None, though a good knowledge of the planets will help for which I reccommend my book Graha
Sutras.
Post Study: Watch the Tithi, Nakshatra, Vara, and Combinations of Vara, Tithi and Nakshatra Videos located on
the Remedials>Muhurta>Panchanga page in order to make the most of the advanced calculations from the Ashta-
mangalam Number technique.

COMPATIBILITY
Introduction
Recently someone asked me what I thought was the single most important thing to learn if an astrologer wanted to
serve humanity. Without a doubt my answer was Compatibility as presented by the ancient Indian texts. Personally,
I do not believe that making predictions often helps a person. When I am too busy to do readings and a person
desperately wants me to make a prediction about their future. I do not interrupt my schedule to help them. The
reason being that I just have not seen making predictions really help people, though people always believe it will
help them and so ask for predictions. I study predictive astrology as an art or perfect astrological expression, not
because I think it will really help someone. Not to mention, 75% of the questions people ask in a predictive context
have answers that are not what they want them to be and people often ask out of hope and not really to hear the
truth of their life’s events to come. Compatibility readings, on the other hand, that I am always most ready to ac-
27
commodate even when I am swamped with other astrological projects. More than anything, in this day and age,
people are in desperate need to learn how to have healthy relationships. Healthy relationships are the foundation
for healthy money managing, enjoying ones work even if trivial, maintaining health, etc.
A bad relationship undercuts all these things. When we look deeply at most people’s issues, frustrations, addic-
tions, etc. we will usually find at the bottom of it a broken, frustrated or lonely heart. If that heart can find comfort in
a healthy relationship, their whole life will improve. So I consider Compatibility the most helpful aspect of astrology
that an astrologer can present their client with. By Compatibility, however, I don’t just mean matching horoscopes,
but the art of healthy relating which is perfectly revealed through the Indian astrological techniques of compatibility –
an art that 90% of astrologers are in desperate need of themselves. Astrological Compatibility also contains within
it all the most important psychological aspects of our being, which are the foundation for our relationships.
As important as Compatibility is, I won’t be making Compatibility videos right away as I have an extensive Compatibility
course available in audio form at www.vedic-astrology.net/Courses/Relationship-Compatibility-Course.asp. Once I
get caught up making videos of which I have no audio courses, I will produce several Compatibility videos.
These videos are part of the Mastering Rahu & Ketu Course and I reccommend that you take these videos as part
of that course.
REMEDIALS
Introduction
Remedials are those things that can be done to alleviate difficulties presented in the horoscope. Remedials are of
two types: Internal and External. Internal remedies are those things that are done inwardly in order to purify one-
self of the negative vibration that is attracting the unwanted difficulty. Internal remedies include Mantra, Fasting,
Meditation, Affirmation, Puja and Prayer. External remedies are those things that are done to improve our situation
through contact with something of the external world. External remedies include eating a proper food or herb,
flower remedies, wearing of gems, giving of charity, moving to a more suitable place, and selecting a favorable
astrological moment to begin an activity.
For financial difficulties I find that most people have best results with Mantra, Affirmation, Charity and relocating to
a more suitable place, though moving to a more suitable place is often not possible. For health related problems I
find that most people benefit most from fasting, proper food and the wearing of gems.
For psychological difficulties, mental and emotional stress I find that most people have best results with Fasting,
Meditation, Prayer, Affirmation, Proper Diet and Flower Remedies.
Astrology provides its own remedial in the form of Muhurta, chosing an astrologically auspiscious moment to begin
28
an ativity be it marriage, business, buying a home or vehicle, etc. By selecting a favorable astrological moment
to begin such an activity the ill effects shown in our horoscopes are reduced while the favorable effects are aug-
mented. Muhurta is not only a remedial for the difficult things in our lives, but a way to smoothly pave the path of
destiny for all the important things in our lives.
To start with I will be presenting videos on Relocation as shown in the sole Indian book I have seen seen that touch-
es on the topic. More importantly, I have about 19 hours of Muhurta videos avialable. This is the most complete
information on Muhurta you will find anywhere. The Muhurta videos are important not just for finding auspiscious
times, but also have a host of astronomical time centered information that can be applied to Prasna and the birth
horoscope – highly reccomended. For those interested in other Remedials I also have an audio course available for
using Bach Flower Remedies as an astrological remedy as determined by ones horoscope at www.vedic-astrology.
net/Courses/Bach-Flower-Remedies-Course.asp.
Kakinis
Muhurta Chintamani is the one ancient Indian text I have seen that deals with the effects of living in a particular city.
It is likely the oldest astrological text available with any such techniques, for relocation is a relatively new concept
even amongst western astrologers. Of the few techniques given by Muhurta Chintamani which pertain to relocation,
the Kakini technique is my favorite.
Time
“Time, has for its nature, to bring what is to pass.
An event only begins when the commencement of its allotted time arrives and ends when its time has run its course.
The science of knowing the nature of an event from the moment of its beginning is Muhurta.”
Muhurta is perhaps the oldest use of astrology. In these videos you will find the most comprehensive presenta-
tion of Muhurta found anywhere. These videos were taken during a 20 hour muhurta workshop that I taught in Los
Angeles in 2003, using the sidereal zodiac. These videos follow my book, Classical Muhurta, which is now only
available as a digital book which can be found at http://www.vedic-astrology.net/Books/Classical-Muhurta.asp.
Video quality on these videos is lacking at times due to camcorder issues I had back then. Also, since the class was
taught to a bunch of rowdie Californians, we do get off track occasionally and delve into other subjects.
With that said, this is a very comprehensive course on Muhurta. If you want to learn Muhurta, please listen to these
videos in order. If, however, you just want to understand something such as a Tithi, Dina Yoga, Nakshatra, etc. then
please listen just to the video that you need.
Panchanga
The Panchanga consists of the five most important branches of Time: Tithi, Karana, Vara, Nakshatra and Dina
Yoga. Every astrologer should understand these five even if they have no interest in Muhurta, as these five have an
important bearing on the natal horoscope as well.

AUDIO COURSES
Astrological Anatomy and Nutrition
– Merge Modern Science of Anatomy, Ayurveda, and Chinese Medicine
Before astrology I was a Naturopath and so it is about time I held a medical astrology course. Medical astrology is
perhaps one of the wisest uses of astrology. While it is the wellbeing of our minds and spirits that is important to
us so that we can be happy, the truth is that we live in a physical world and so our happiness, outlook, and mental
and spiritual wellbeing are dramatically affected by the health of our body. In fact, most people will make better
progress in becoming happy (which means spiritual) people by improving their health, which in this modern world
of improper foods, is always in decay. Only once a person has transcended the needs of their body will their hap-
piness not be dependent upon the condition of the body. A less then perfectly healthy body interferes with the flow
of life in the body and so the hormonal secretions (the same hormones that are secreted during spiritual practices)
that keep us happy are not properly available. Solid astrological counsel bearing on the health of the individual will,
therefore, often benefit the client more than will anything else.
In this course I will cover anatomy and nutrition in relationship to astrology in very great detail:
As you can see, in this course, through the magnifying glass of astrology, we will bring together the modern science
of anatomy, Ayurvedic principles, and principles of Chinese medicine for an in depth understanding of health and
disease.
Upon completion of this course you will have better health and so be happier because you will of course be study-
ing your own chart and applying the principles to your own life. You will also be able to define and understand the
disease producing systems, organs and glands in the charts of your clients and provide them with practical advice
on how to get better or be able to direct them to the type of therapy that can help them.
This astrology course consists of 15, 2-hour Jyotish classes, manual, all class charts and self-check homework.
Astrology of Character
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES – HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
In this course we will explore some of the ancient methods of determining character and psychology from the
horoscope:
• Nabhasa Yogas: The 32 Yogas that determine the very foundation of the natives character.
• Pancha Maha Purusha Yogas: The five Yogas of perfected activity.
• Chandra Yogas: The four Yogas that determine the foundation of a persons personality.
• Surya Yogas: The three Yogas that determine the planets that the native emphasizes.
• Vasumati and Uttamaadi Yogas: The influence of the Moon upon the creation and growth of wealth and all
other things in the natives life.
This Jyotish course consists of seven 2-hour astrology classes, extensive manual and all class charts.
31
Bach Flower Remedies are a great remedy for alleviating mental and emotional stress and complexes. With the
horoscope the astrologer can easily determine which remedies would benefit a person during their current period of
life. Dr. Bach, the discoverer of Bach flower remedies was himself a believer in astrologer and made efforts shortly
before his death to relate the remedies to the horoscope. Bach flower remedies have the advantage of being inex-
pensive, and without any side effects, so they are a perfect astrological remedy to begin with.
In this 5 1/2 hour Jyotish course you will learn a simple and effective method for determining which Bach Flower
Remedies a person can benefit from and how to treat painful disturbances to the planets and Rasis.
Effects of Planets in Rasis. A conceptual method of determining the effects of the Planets in the Rasis will be taught
that allows you to instantly determine the effects of any planet in any Rasi, so that you don’t have to remember
everything by rote.
Developmental Effects of the Planets. In this class you will learn the major role that each planet has to play and how
that role affects those things that the planet is influencing.
Saturn. Learn how Saturn is a person’s misery and the planet that teaches happiness.
Rahu and Ketu. Learn how Rahu and Ketu indicate the evolution of the individual and how Rahu and Ketu tie in
with Saturn and Mars.
This Jyotish course consists of nine 2-hour astrology classes and an extensive manual.
Interpreting Planets
There are several ways that planets are interpreted. Planets in signs, planets conjunct planets, etc. Shad Bala, one
very important method of interpreting planets has been taught in the Shad Bala course. Here other methods will
be taught.
Interpreting Avasthas
Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra is unique in that it does not gives results for planets in signs or planets conjunct planets
as do other inferior texts. Rather than giving cookbook interpretations as do the other texts, Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra
teaches various Avasthas, or planetary conditions, that allow the astrologer to make profound interpretations for
any and all planetary positions and permutations. In this course I will interpret planets in signs and planets joined
and aspected by planets following the principles of the Avasthas. In this course I will cover three types of Avasthas
along with all their meanings:
• Jagraadadi Avasthas, the awake, sleepy and sleeping states of the planets based on there natural relation
ship to the sign that they are placed in.
• Lajjitaadi Avasthas, by far the most important Avasthas which give amazing interpretations for every planet
in every sign and every planet joined or aspected by every other planet. Lajjitaadi Avasthas are the single most
important technique for interpretating planets and for predicting with planets as well. I consider Lajjitaadi
one of the most important things that an astrologer can learn, so many secrets are revealed by the Lajji
taadi Avasthas. I give interpretations for every planetary possibility using Lajjitaadi Avasthas.
• Deeptaadi Avasthas, the most commonly known group of Avasthas covered in most texts are explained
and interpreted clearly in this course.
32
The course consists of over 20 hours of interpretataions: what does it mean when the Moon influences Venus, what
does it mean with Saturn joins Mars, what does it mean when Saturn is in Cancer, etc. etc. This course is all you
need to know to do a profound reading and with the help of the Lajjitaadi Avastha interpretations you will be able
to explain people’s nature and behavior better than most practicing astrologers out there.
I consider this course a Must Study course and only wish that I had been taught this when I started studying astrology
as the Avasthas principles are the core or Parashara’s teachings.
This astrology course consists of 22 approximatiely 1 hour Jyotish classes, for a total of about 20 hours of material,
a manual and all class charts. This is the same course I taught on video.
This 18 hour audio course covers my Classical Muhurta book. Includes a pdf copy of the book Classical Muhurta.
This course was originally taught in 2002 using sidereal rasis with the Ardra Galactic Plane ayanamsa, which is
about 24 minutes less than Lahiri Ayanamsa.
• Each Muhurta factor is covered thoroughly and has a chapter devoted to it.
• The meaning and effect of each muhurta factor is thoroughly discussed so know what the Vara, Tithi,
Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana, etc. do.
• The relative importance of the many different Muhurta factors is explained in detail.
• Many example muhurtas are discussed such as the sailing of the titanic, the Columbia Shuttle launches,
first romantic meetings, and many more.
This Muhurta course consists of nine 2-hour astrology classes, along with the Classical Muhurta book in pdf.
In this course I will cover the following pertinent subjects relevant to recommending gems and crystals:
In this course you will learn how to determine the astrological effects of any gem and how to choose a gem to help
an individual – whatever their trouble may be. Best of all, you will learn about the very large world of helpful gems
and crystals that are available to us and which can dramatically help. We will not restrict ourselves to the benefits
of the 9 expensive precious gems which many people can just not afford, you will learn how any available gem or
cystal can be helpful, even crystals that only cost 5–10 dollars. In fact, depending on the chart, a 10 dollar gem may
well do a person better than the 5,000 dollar ruby, sapphire or diamond.
This Gems and Jyotish course consists of five 2-hour astrology classes, manual and all class charts.
33
In this course we will very thoroughly cover about 42 different aspects of the Grahas including the five methods of
pacifying the Grahas outlined by Parashara. This class will not have any event-predictive techniques. It will have
detail-predictive techniques, such as learning how the Grahas make us live in a dry or wet clime, how the Grahas
color our complexion and so on.
This Jyotish course consists of sixteen 2-hour astrology classes, extensive manual and all class charts.
In his Sutras, Jaimini deals with many things that are just not covered in other texts such as career; proper ruler-
ships for music, singing, writing, healing; and spiritual development. Additional Jaimini’s techniques for longev-
ity, children, marriage, wealth and fame are all much more accurate than found in other texts. Jaimini Sutras are
certainly something an astrologer can not be without if he really wants to understand the destiny of an individual.
Due to the coded nature of the Sutras, there are a lot of controversies and simply incorrect ideas floating around
and being published as Jaimini ideas. In this course we will not only teach the Jaimini techniques, we will also break
down and analyze each sutra step by step so that you will understand the true wisdom of Jaimini astrology.
Jaimini is a unique system that has many principles not found in common astrology, however, all these principles
are extremely simple and the average Jaimini techniques requires just 3 or 4 simple steps that yield remarkably ac-
curate results. While understanding the mind of Jaimini can take a lifetime, the actual techniques are so simple that
they can be taught to a child. So Jaimini is both simple and deeply profound and so something with which one can
instantly derive good results with while also having much to contemplate for the future.
Jaimini techniques revolve around what the individual truly is, what they truly will become, both spiritually and
materially, who they will have in their life and the mark that their life will leave upon their fellow mankind. All these
issues are addressed much more accurately by Jaimini than by any other ancient astrologer.
Over the next year I will be teaching everything from Jaimini’s first two chapters (out of the four) and making them
available as separate courses:
• Rasi Aspects
• Argala
• Atma and other Karakas
• Naisargika Karakas
• Dasa Lengths
• Padas
• Svamsa
• Determining Career, Capability, Home, Passion, Dharma, Description of the Spouse, Courage and will,
Moksha and spiritual development; Mantra, Healing, Disease tendency, Weapons, Authorship, Intelligence;
Speech, Sailing, and the Yoga that can destroy the promise in a chart.

This astrology course consists of 5 hours or audio, manuals, and all class charts. This course is the audio from the
same course that I taught on video.
• What exactly are Rahu and Ketu – thier formation, myths and Sanskrit names.
• Calculation Options for Rahu and Ketu
• The principle of Rahu Sanivat, Ketu Kujavat explained.
• Rahu and Ketu in Rasis and Conjunct Bhava Cusps; extensive intepretations of the nodes in the Rasis.
• Maturation Ages of Rahu and Ketu
• Effects of Planets influencing Rahu & Ketu

This astrology course consists of twelve 2-hour Jyotish classes, manual, all class charts and self-check homework.
Predictive astrology methods can be roughly broken down into three types: Global Techniques, Specific Techniques
and Yogas.
A Global Technique is a set of rules of analyzing the horoscope that can be applied ot all areas of life. For instance,
the same principles are applied to the 5th house as to the 7th house to determine 5th and 7th house matters. One
good Global Technique allows the astrologer to analyze any and all areas of life to a high degree of accuracy. Brihat
Parashara Hora Shastra provides the king of Global Techniques in the form of Five Avasthas, or Planetary Condi-
tions. A course on these will be taught at www.astrology-videos.com beginning October 2013 – which course will
also be rendered into audio and available here when complete.
A Specific Technique is a set of rules that applies to only one area of life. For instance, a set of rules is used to judge
children, and only children. Another completely different set of rules will be used for judging marriage, and only
marriage. Jaimini Sutras is the sourcebook of all great Specific Techniques all of which are much more accurate and
useful than any Specific Techniques found elsewhere. Please see my Jaimini Courses for more on Jaimini.
Yogas are planetary permutations that attach the indiviudal to specific events and effects. There are many, many
Yogas worth learning, but what is intergral to using Yogas accurately is knowing how to evaluate Yogas.
Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra provides very precise calculations for evaluating Yogas. Many Yogas and how to
evalaute them in accordance with Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra are taught in my Parashara’s Formula for Judging
Yogas Course available at www.astrology-videos.com. Audio renderings of that course will be available here soon.

check homework.
Shad Bala consists of many calculations and each of the individual Shad Bala components has something impor-
tant to say about a planet. Thus looking carefully into a planets Shadbala should be done before even beginning to
look at the aspects or conjunctions a planet may have. In this course we will demonstrate how Shad Bala reveals:
• The impact a planet has upon the individual and the degree with which the person will remember
the effect of the planet.
• The secure and confident or insecure use of a planet.
• The capacity of the planet to deal with conflict and tackle the struggles in life.
• Is the planet supported or disrupted.
• The correct calculation of planetary war.
• The importance of Spashta Bala (a planets distinct strength).

Tajika Astrology
The Tajikas were the ancient Persians, of whom Edgar Cayce has said that while the ancient Hindus and Mayans
had very sophisticated systems of predictive astrology, that that of the Persians was the most accurate. Regard-
less of whether Cayces statement is true or not, the Tajika system has proven itself as a very effective branch of
astrology. While Persian style astrology is alive today in bits and pieces in the various schools of western astrology
it is in India that a systematic astrology of the Persians has been best preserved. The Tajika system as preserved
in India is really quite wonderful and vast; it even includes several planetary strengths, Varga charts, and the exact
calculation of Tajika aspectual strength.
The Tajika system depends upon Solar Return or Varshaphal charts to make all the general and specific predictions,
and Prashna to answer particular questions put forth by the client. All the possibilities that the astrologer may face
can be answered with these two methods of astrological practice. I plan to teach three classes on the Tajika system
over the next several months. The first class will be a Varshaphala class, followed by an advanced Varshaphala
class and finally a Prashna class.
Varshaphala is the most simple predictive technique to learn. In just 9 weeks of study many students learned to
predict better than they did with 1–2 years of Parashara style astrology. It is really such a simple system and has
the advantage of one chart focusing on one year and so automatically timing events is much easier – and as every
astrologer knows, it is the timing that is the hard part in astrology. With Varshapahala you can always time an event
to the year at least with a lot more ease than timing an event to a year with Vimshottari Dasa and with some skill,
you can time the event to a day or two with the same amount of effort that it takes predicting the year of an event
with Vimshottari. Varshaphala is really the system to study if a person wants to be able to quickly and effectively
time events.
Vaarsphala I
The Tajika system of Varshaphala is certainly a great method to discern and precisely time the more important and
big events in a given year. Instead of painfully filtering out the events of the year from the many, many events indi-
cated in the birth chart, the Varshaphala or solar return chart allows the astrologer to focus on the year at hand. And
with the help of the Varshaphala Patyanini Dasa events can often be timed to the exact day. In this first Varshaphala
course will be covered:
I discuss some very controversial issues in this class, some of which may cause you to revisit your horoscope in an
entirely new way. If you would like to discuss your chart or any other charts that you may be testing for purposes of
seeing which calculations are more accurate, please feel to call me (760–420–5648) or Email Me and we can set up
a time to discuss it. I am offering this service free of charge because I consider the calculations that us astrologers
use to be of greatest importance and so I am always happy to discuss them or to examine charts in light of the
different calculation possibilities.
Before you listen to this class, make sure you read the following article and download the following diagrams, oth-
erwise the class will not make much sense.
