ready for when we graduate highschool and are ready for the world outside of high school. They
taught us how to be interconnected with our peers by communicating with one another and
taught us how to understand the world and the responsibilities we have or gain and how we use
our knowledge towards it. They teach each and every student how to be a Global Citizenship role
model to those around us by teaching us skills and knowledge that we, in the future, will be able
to use.
So, what does it mean to be a global citizen? One of the few qualities that makes someone a
global citizen is to speak up for others who can’t, stand up for what they believe in, being able to
be reflective of their mistakes, being honest, respectful, and open-minded. Someone who is a role
model to others whom others can look up to. That role model for me would be my friend Bri.
She is someone I look up to because she’s someone who is knowledgeable, principled, caring
and open-minded. She is one of the few people who is determined to learn about the world and
its problems and speaks up for it. She treats those around her with respect, honesty, care and with
an open mind. Not once has she made me feel ashamed of my feelings or have I ever felt
disrespected by her. One of the most important values that she possesses as a global citizen, is
principled since she has a strong belief in what she believes is right and is very honest and fair to
believe in and being open-minded with those around me. I achieved these by the people around
me who do the same and more. When I was in middle school, I wasn’t really reflective, honest,
or commutative. I wasn’t really happy with how I was acting and decided to change in
highschool. One of the few things that made me change was the people around me, I guess you
can say I got influenced by them but in a good way. They help me be more open-minded, caring,
principled, and reflective. Soon, I've come to realize just how many amazing people there are
in ASGL, students and teachers. These people helped in shaping me into a better person I myself
can be proud of. With these skills, I hope I can, in a way, impact those around me, even if it's
little. I know I still have room to grow but I'm now excited to see myself and how much I've
grown in the future. I also see myself as becoming more of a risk taker which is someone
When it comes to my future, I plan on becoming a fireman. I will become a Risk-taker as I will
be putting other people's lives first before mine. I will continue to use Principle as a way to act
with honesty and integrity which is to help those around me as much as I can. I will be using
Inquirers as a way to develop my skills so that I will be able to do my job properly. I look
forward to learning more ways to help people and having the resources to do so. Looking back, I
feel like I’ve developed and improved as a person compared to how I entered High School.
In conclusion, I want to use my Knowledgeable and Inquirers skills that the school has taught me
and use it outside of school. I believe that our generation will be able to make a difference in
today's society and will have an impact on future generations. Many people here like me are
already doing just that, I see that many have a strong sense of justice and fairness. I've
learned/matured more here in this school than I ever had in any other, for example, I've come to
be more Reflective of my actions and I can recognize my own weaknesses and strengths. I will
also be able to be a Communicator as I will use my skills to engage and talk with many
different people. I have also come to be open-minded to those who share with me, I learned to
respect their opinions and in what they believe is right. ASGL has taught me how to become a
better version of myself, I believe I still have much to learn from and much to grow from.
