Dear Samson,

OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT

1. Following your interview at our office, we are pleased to offer you a position as a Chef in
our organization. You shall report to the Manager – Green Vault. The employee’s duties
may from time to time be reasonably modified as necessary to meet the needs of the
employer’s business. However, this offer is subject to your acceptance, provision of
three (1) references, and a completed guarantors form.

2. Commencement: Your employment will commence on the September 1st 2023.

3. Salary: The employer shall pay the employee an annual gross salary of One million, eight
hundred thousand (1,800,000) Naira, only. The employee’s monthly gross salary will be
One hundred and fifty thousand Naira Only (150,000) itemized breakdown below:

4. Hours of Employment: The company operates a seven (7) day working week (Monday
to Sunday). You are entitled to one day off duty every week. The off-day shall be
communicated to you by your Manager.

5. Probationary Period and Confirmation: The first six (6) months of your employment will
be treated as probation. After which, you will be confirmed as a permanent member of
staff should you meet the performance expectations, values, policies and code of
conduct guiding the organization. During this probationary period, either party may
terminate the employment contract by giving two (2) weeks’ notice or payment in lieu
of notice.

6. Confirmation: Confirmation shall take place after a six (6) month period of probation,
subject to a positive evaluation and assessment of your performance and satisfactory
adherence to company policies as well as receipt of favourable reference one of which
should be your previous employer. If your performance is adjudged to be unsatisfactory,
management reserves the right to terminate your employment or your probation may
be extended for a maximum of three (3) months, after which the appointment may be
terminated if performance is still unsatisfactory.

7. Job Description: the employee job description will include but is not limited to the
following:
 Direct kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking and clean-up
 Clean-upcharge of the presentation of food.
 Maintain control of the kitchen to ensure that all tasks are carried out efficiently
and effectively
 Ensure food safety and sanitation standard.
 Plan menus and set prices, making adjustments where necessary and based on
available ingredients.
 Inspect raw and cooked food items to guarantee that the highest quality products
are prepared and served to customers.
 Collaborate with the Chef to ensure to align kitchen operations with the
overarching goal of the establishment.
 Ensure proper inventory and maintain vendor relationships.
 Maintain a clean and safe work area including handling utensils, equipment and
dishes
 Ensure food is served promptly.
 Taking stock of ingredients and equipment, and placing orders to replenish stock.
 Enforce safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen
 Create a new recipe for meals
 Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients.
 Ensure good prep is in place
 Attend meetings when required.
 Assist the manager to ensure the kitchen is run profitably.
 Takes responsibility for the duties and tasks assigned to the role, ensuring that all
work is carried out in a timely and professional manner
 Works as part of a team that maximizes guest satisfaction and comfort, delivering
a positive and timely response to guest enquiries
 Monitor Stock inventory levels
 Any other duty assigned by the Manager

8. Performance Reviews: The employee will be provided with a written performance


appraisal, at least once a year, taking note of all metrics from performance to values.

9. Termination: The employer and the employee may terminate this agreement by giving
one month’s written notice or payment of one-month salary in lieu of notice (for
confirmed employee) and two weeks’ notice (unconfirmed employee) which is subject
to the employee handing over of all files, document, and properties belonging to the
company back to the employer. The employer may also terminate this agreement
without notice or payment in lieu of notice in the case of serious or persistent
misconduct such as causing a major breach of the employer disciplinary rule.

10. Confidentiality: The Employee is aware that during his/her employment he/she may be
a party to confidential information concerning the Employer and the Employer’s
business, intellectual property and trade secret. The Employee shall not during the term
of this employment or after disclose or allow the disclosure of any confidential
information. The Employer shall be entitled to apply for an injunction to prevent such
disclosure or use and to seek any other remedy including without limit, including in the
case of such disclosure or use.

11. Non-Competition: For 2 years after the termination of this Agreement the employee
shall not solicit or seek business from any customer or clients of the Employer who was
customers or clients of the employer at any time during the 2 years immediately
preceding the termination of this Agreement. The Employee shall not hire or attempt to
hire any current Employees of the Employer. Contrary to this, the employer shall be
entitled to apply for an injunction to prevent such.

12. Company Policy, Rules and Regulations: The company has its strict rules and
regulations which must be adhered to at all times as listed in our Employee handbook,
code of conduct and any other policies and procedures.

13. Discipline and Grievance: Reasons that will give rise to disciplinary action against the
employee will include, but not be limited to:
a. Job Incompetence;
b. Unsatisfactory Standard of dress or appearance;
c. Conduct during or outside working hours prejudicial to the Employer’s
interests or reputation.
d. Putting clients and company property at risk;
e. Unreliability in timekeeping or attendance;
f. Failure to comply with rules, regulations, instructions, and procedures of
the Employer;
g. Breach of confidentiality clause;
h. Breach of the employer no smoking, drinking or fighting policy.

In the event of the need to take disciplinary action, the procedure shall be (a) oral
warning (b) written warning (c) facing a disciplinary panel (d) dismissal.

Reasons which might give rise to immediate dismissal include the following: (a) theft (b)
drunkenness (c) drug-taking or trafficking (e) lying (f) dishonesty, (g) fighting, (h)
smoking, (i) fighting.

14. Other Terms and Conditions: Your primary responsibility and professional loyalty are to
the Company. Therefore, you should be prepared to serve anywhere within and outside
Lagos/Nigeria, in whatever capacity as deemed fit by the company from time to time.

Your employment is subject to the terms and conditions set out in this contract as well
as other applicable policies approved by the company. You are required to fully abide by
the company’s conditions of service, instructions, policies, employee handbook and
procedures that may be in force from time to time.

15. Notices: All communications including notices required under this Agreement shall be in
writing and sent either by personal service or post to the Parties’ respective addresses.

16. Entire Agreement: This Agreement contains the entire Agreement between the Parties
and supersedes all prior arrangements and understandings whether written or oral
concerning the subject matter hereof and may not be varied except in writing signed by
both Parties hereto.

17. Governing Law: This Agreement shall be construed by the laws of the Federal Republic
of Nigeria and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.

18. Possession and Return of Company’s Items:


Upon termination of the contract, you are expected to handover company’s items or
information. The Company shall retain possession of any document, policy, form e.t.c
developed by an employee whilst in service of the company.
