Overview
There are three types of port on the 936 Multi Purpose Interface. There is a port for connecting to
peripherals, a port for connecting to a 925 Line Keying Interface and a port for connecting to a
radio.
The peripheral ports, of which there are three, are identical to the ports found on the 920 Remote
Control Interface and the 935 Local Radio Interface. (See Pages 12 and 31.)
The 925 port can interface directly with a 925LKI or it can be configured to emulate a 925LKI.
The radio port may be either isolated, balanced audio E & M signalling or unbalanced with active
high or low PTT and Mute. The radio port will also connect directly to a 619 Audio Bridge.
The 936MPI can operate in one of three modes of operation. These are mode 1, mode 2 and mode 3.
Mode 1 allows for connecting between peripherals and the radio port.
Mode 2 allows for connecting between a 925LKI and the radio port.
Mode 3 allows for connection between the 925LKI and radio ports, for radios to be connected
back to back and for connection between a 619 Audio Bridge and an unbalanced line to a radio.
Installation
The 936MPI may be configured in a number of ways. To set the preferred mode of operation, refer
to the Link Configuration Table and Standard Configuration Options on the following pages.
Connect +12Vdc to the power socket CN5 and locate the receive and transmit level
potentiometers, VR1 and VR2. Align the receive and transmit line level for correct operation.
