 ABOUT
In 2016, after giving birth to Galatea Marie, a premature baby, Lisa Marie Santos, created an online community and

established the very first Premature Birth and NICU Support group in the Philippines.

3 years later with 4,000 members, Nina Celine Recio, Galatea's Godmother found a way to support the community

not only by peer support from members but by means of for profit ventures, charity events and digital media advances

to spread awareness about Premature Birth in the country and help families with financial assistance and resources to

help them in their prematurity journey.

Our goals for establishing Preemie Philippines is to;

(1) Spread Awareness that 8 out of 10 pregnancies lead to Premature Birth Delivery, and for the public and the

government to know the needs and special assistance of this common pregnancy situation, that they may realize and

give importance in making their needs more available commercially and provide amendments and show concern with

regards to hospital bills, after care maintenance, leave regulations for parents and intentional privileges to premature

babies. (2) Provide a safe environment and support group to Parents of Premature Babies. Reach out to the families,

and create an extended family who will be there for them, give hope and to love them just as Jesus commanded.

Nobody understands the effect of a supposedly happy day for a celebration of life that becomes a tragedy than

those who have experienced it. We all love our children even before they are born, imagine seeing them fighting for

their lives seconds after birth. It is hard. And hard is an understatement. And it's as if the world of Pregnancy and

Parenting take little attention to this.

Established in 2016, It caters to people of all

walks of life including preemie parent

celebrities like Saab-Magalona Bacarro and

Ogie Diaz who are active members and

beloved preemie supporters.

In this community we share the struggles,

triumphs of our Preemie Journey.

There are other Preemie Support Groups for

different purposes, mostly for different

preemie baby conditions that are we are

partnered with.

 Words from the Community
I am a single mother of 3 kids, and I thought having to deliver 3 of

them alone via cesarean section is hard. Until I saw these

premature babies, their mothers and families. They are broken.

And for it to happen to somebody close to my heart,

I felt like I had 2nd hand trauma.

I started visiting NICU hospitals and I look at these babies fighting,

most of which is just the size of my palm. And wow, how come we

don't know of this situation. And why do the people that are made

aware wouldn't do anything about it.

This is what drives Preemie Philippines. I want to do more than just

pray for them. And I know I can do more with your help.
