‘To Whom It May Concern,
| am writing to provide a reference for Emily Kowal, who | have worked with as a student
teacher mentor at Clarkston Junior High since August 2023. During this period, Emily
demonstrated exceptional qualities that | believe make her an outstanding candidate for
a biology teaching position.
Emily is a hardworking and dedicated individual who consistently exceeded my
expectations. She is a responsible and dedicated educator. She has effective
‘communication skills, is always prepared and gives students timely and appropriate
feedback. She fostered good working relationships with students while maintaining an
appropriate level of classroom management. Emily was willing and eager to leam new
things throughout her time as a student teacher and conducted herself with grace and
poise as she rose to new challenges.
In addition, Emily possesses a strong science background as well as knowledge about
the core teaching practices which she combines to give her students unique and
exciting experiences within the classroom. She created and facilitated interesting and
relatable lessons for our students. Emily wrote and received a grant through Oakland
University for students to participate in an enrichment lab they would have not otherwise
been able to complete. She understands the importance of planning and looking at
lessons as a cohesive unit to deliver content and standards.
In conclusion, | wholeheartedly recommend Emily as an applicant for your biology
teaching position. She has the knowledge, dedication, and attitude that would make her
an asset to your students and to your school. If you have any further questions or
require additional information, please feel free ta contact me.
Sincerely,
OniAdne
