prosperous farmer and town councilor in Calamba, Laguna. He
was known for his commitment to providing a good education for
his children.

TEODORA ALONSO (1827-1913)

Born on November 9, 1827, Teodora Alonso, the mother of Jose
Rizal, was a highly educated and cultured woman skilled in arts,
particularly music and literature. She played a crucial role in nurturing
the intellectual and cultural development of her children, especially
Jose Rizal.

SATURNINA HIDALGO(1850-1913)

Saturnina Rizal-Hidalgo, born on November 9, 1850, was the eldest

sibling of Jose Rizal. Married to Manuel T. Hidalgo, she played a
significant role in the historical narrative of the Rizal family and the
Philippines' quest for independence.
PACIANO RIZAL (1851-1930)
Jose Rizal's only brother, played a crucial role in supporting Jose's
efforts for Philippine independence. Active in the Katipunan, he
significantly influenced his brother's ideals. Paciano lived until 1930,
witnessing the realization of the country's quest for freedom.

NARCISA RIZAL (1852-1939)

The third child, born on October 2, 1852, married Antonio Lopez in
Morong, Rizal. A teacher and musician, she made significant
contributions to education and culture. Narcisa's legacy extends
through her diverse roles in her community. She passed away in 1939.

OLYMPIA RIZAL (1855-1887)

Olympia Mercado (1855-1887), the fourth child of the Mercado
family, was born on October 29, 1855. She married Silvestre Ubaldo.
While information about specific achievements is limited, Olympia
played a role within the context of the Mercado family, contributing to
their collective history. She lived until 1887, leaving a mark within her
familial connections.

LUCIA RIZAL (1857-1919)

The fifth child, was born on July 19, 1857. She married Mariano
Herbosa and had 5 children. In 1889, Mariano faced denial of
Christian burial during an epidemic due to being Jose Rizal's brother-
in-law, marking the beginning of the Rizal family's persecution by
Spanish friars. Lucia, a part of the broader Rizal family history,
passed away in 1919, contributing to the family legacy.
MARIA RIZAL (1859-1945)
Maria, born on June 14, 1859, enriched the Rizal family legacy
through her marriage to Daniel Faustino Cruz. A recipient of letters
from Jose Rizal, her son Mauricio became one of Rizal's favorite
students. Maria passed away in 1945, leaving a lasting mark on the
family history.

JOSE RIZAL (1861-1896)

The second son and seventh child, was born on June 19, 1861.
Renowned for his pivotal role in advocating Philippine independence,
he authored influential works such as "Noli Me Tangere" and "El
Filibusterismo." Executed by the Spaniards on December 30, 1896,
Rizal's martyrdom further fueled the Filipino fight for freedom,
making him a national hero.

CONCEPCION RIZAL (1862-1865)

The eighth child, was born on February 19, 1862. Tragically, she
passed away at the tender age of three. Due to her young age, there are
no specific achievements attributed to her. Her brief life is a poignant
part of the Rizal family history, symbolizing the challenges and losses
faced by the family during that time.

TRINIDAD RIZAL (1868-1951)
Trinidad Rizal, the tenth child born on November 13, 1868, remained
unmarried and was the last of the Rizal siblings to pass away in 1951.
Though lacking widely documented achievements, her significance lies
in symbolizing the end of the Rizal family era. Trinidad lived with her
sister Josefa and played a role in preserving Jose Rizal's "Mi Ultimo
Adios."

SOLEDAD RIZAL (1870-1929)

Born on August 16, 1870, was the youngest of the Rizal siblings.
Known as Choleng, she married Pantaleon Reyes Quintero and had
five children. Considered "the best educated" among Rizal's sisters,
Soledad's significant achievement lies in her marriage and role in the
family's history. She passed away on August 26, 1929, in San Roque,
Dasmariñas, Cavite, Philippines, marking the end of an era for the
youngest Rizal sibling.
