1
Guidance / approach:
The pacifier clip is a great way to use yarn remnant. In this pattern, there are six
different options, everyone on the basis that the pattern should be similarly equal, on
the right side and the wrong side.

Option 1 (ribbed knitting):

Cast on 9 stitches on needle nr. 3mm. Do ribbed knitting, knit one (k1), purl one (p1).
To make the edges nicer, you always knit the first stitch on each row garter stitch,
and the last stitch on each row is lifted on to the other needle as if knitted in purl
stitch. Continue as described above until the work is approx. 20cm or desired length.
Recommended max length after assembly is 22cm, measured without the clip, do to
strangling hazard. Assembly on the last page.

If you wish to make a buttonhole, make the hole 1cm before full length: knit 3
stitches as the pattern dictates, cast off 1 stitch, 1 yarn round needle, 3 stitches as the
pattern dictates. Knit three rows.
Cast off in ribbed knitting.

Option 2 (garter stitch):

Cast on 7 stitches on needle nr. 3mm. Knit garter stitch, (knit back and forth on
needle = 1 garter stitch). To make the edges nicer, you always lift the first stitch on
each row on to the other needle, before continuing knitting. Continue as described
above until the work is approx. 20cm or desired length. Recommended max length after
assembly is 22cm, measured without the clip, due to strangling hazard. Assembly on the
last page.

If you wish to make a buttonhole, make the hole 1cm before full length: knit 2
stitches as the pattern dictates, cast off 1 stitch, 1 yarn round needle, 3 stitches as the
pattern dictates. Knit three rows.
Cast of.

Option 3 (moss stitch):

Cast on 7 stitches on needle nr. 3mm. Do moss stitch, one row knit one (k1), purl one
(p1), and alternate with one row purl one (p1), knit one (k1). To make the edges
nicer, you always lift the first stitch on each row on to the other needle, before
continue knitting. Continue as described above until the work is approx. 20cm or
desired length. Recommended max length after assembly is 22cm, measured without the
clip, do to strangling hazard. Assembly on the last page.

If you wish to make a buttonhole, make the hole 1cm before full length: knit 2
stitches as the pattern dictates, cast off 1 stitch, 1 yarn round needle, 3 stitches as the
pattern dictates. Knit three rows.
Cast of as the pattern dictates.

2
Option 4 (shifting):
Cast on 8 stitches on needle nr. 3mm. Do ribbed knitting, knit two (k2), purl two (p2).
To make the edges nicer, you always knit the first stitch on each row garter stitch,
and the last stitch on each row is lifted on to the other needle as if knitted in purl
stitch. After two rows of ribbed knitting, the ribbed knitting is shifted with one stitch
to the left: Instead of k2, p2, you knit p1, k2, p1. Knit one row, knit over knit and purl
over purl. Shift the ribbed knitting 1 stitch. Continue as described above until the
work is approx. 20cm or desired length. Recommended max length after assembly is
22cm, measured without the clip, do to strangling hazard. Assembly on the last page.

If you wish to make a buttonhole, make the hole 1cm before full length: knit 2
stitches as the pattern dictates, cast off 1 stitch, 1 yarn round needle, 4 stitches as the
pattern dictates. Knit three rows.
Cast of as the pattern dictates.

Option 5 (double moss stitch):

Cast on 8 stitches on needle nr. 3mm. Do moss stitch, two rows knit one (k1), purl
one (p1), and alternate with two rows purl one (p1), knit one (k1).

If you wish to make a buttonhole, make the hole 1cm before full length: knit 2
stitches as the pattern dictates, cast off 1 stitch, 1 yarn round needle, 4 stitches as the
pattern dictates. Knit three rows.
Cast of as the pattern dictates.

Option 6 (icord-braid):
This pacifier clip consists of tree braided icords.
Cast on 9 stitches on needle nr. 3mm. Knit 6 rows stocking st. To make the edges
nicer, you always lift the first stitch on each row on to the other needle, before
continue knitting. Putt the last six stitches on the needle unto a cable needle or a
thread of yarn. Leave the first three stitches on the needle. Knit an icord:

Knit 3 stitches, push the stitches back to the start of the needle, tighten the thread and
knit these three stitches over again. Pull the cord underway, this will make the
stitches even out more. Repeat this until the cord is approx. 24cm or desired length.
Putt the stitches on a cable needle/thread. Knit two more icords similarly.

You are now going to make a braid out of these tree icords. When the braid is
finished, you putt all nine stitches back on the needle. Knit 6 rows stocking st. Cast
off. Attach the threads attached to the icords. Recommended max length after assembly
is 22cm, measured without the clip, do to strangling hazard. Assembly on the last page.
Cast off.

3
Assembly: (Steam before assembly)
Putt on the clip (at the opposite side off the buttonhole), fold the edge over and
attach. Putt the adapter ring or hair tie at the other side, fold the edge over and
attach.

If you made a buttonhole you sow the button approx. 2-3cm under the hole. Putt the
adapter ring or hair tie at the end, fold the edge over and buckle.

If you like an alternative to the adapter ring and hair tie, you can crochet a chain
stitch cord on approx. 10cm. Each end of the cord is attached on each corner of the
pacifier clip (opposite side of the clip).
