Wood working tools

Spokeshave (Round and

Flat

A spokeshave is a woodworking tool used to

shape and smooth curved or flat surfaces of
wood. The round spokeshave is used for
shaping and smoothing concave surfaces,
while the flat spokeshave is used for shaping
and smoothing flat or convex surfaces. It is a
versatile tool that can be used for various
woodworking projects.
Oil stone and slip stones
An Oil stone —> is a sharpening stone that is used to sharpen the
cutting edges of tools such as knives, chisels, and plane blades. It
is called an oil stone because it is typically used with a lubricating
oil to aid in the sharpening process. The oil helps to float away the
metal particles and keeps the stone clean.
Oil stones —> are usually made of natural materials like Novaculite
or aluminum oxide.Slip stones, on the other hand, are small
sharpening stones that are used for honing and sharpening hard-
to-reach areas or curved edges of tools. They are called slip stones
because they can easily slip into tight spaces, allowing you to
sharpen the curved or small sections of a tool. Slip stones come in
various shapes and sizes to accommodate different types of tools
and edges.
Oil can

An oil can is a container used for storing and

dispensing oil. It typically consists of a metal
body with a long spout or nozzle for
controlled pouring of the oil. Oil cans are
commonly used in various industries and
applications, such as automotive maintenance,
machinery lubrication, or household oiling
tasks.
Brace (Ratchet)
A brace, specifically a ratchet brace, is a hand tool used
for drilling holes in wood or other materials. It consists of
a handle, a chuck, and a ratchet mechanism. The chuck
holds various types of drill bits, and the ratchet
mechanism allows for easy and efficient drilling by
applying force in a clockwise motion. The ratchet brace is
designed to provide more control and power compared
to traditional hand drills. The ratchet mechanism allows
the user to apply force in a continuous motion, making it
easier to drill through tough or dense materials. It is
commonly used in woodworking, carpentry, and other
tasks that involve drilling holes.
SUGGESTED WOODWORKING MACHINES
• Thichnesser
—> Thicker materials can offer several
advantages in different applications. They can
provide increased strength and durability,
making them suitable for heavy-duty use or for
structures that need to withstand high loads.
Thicker materials can also offer better
insulation, whether it’s for thermal, sound, or
electrical purposes. Additionally, thicker
materials can be more resistant to wear and
tear, making them last longer.
MATERIALS

Adhesive
—> When it comes to adhesives, the
thickness of the adhesive layer can have a
significant impact on its performance.
Thicker adhesive layers generally provide
stronger bonds and better adhesion. This is
because a thicker layer allows for more
contact area between the adhesive and the
surfaces it is bonding, resulting in a stronger
bond.
Thicker adhesives are often used in
applications where there is a need for high
strength or when bonding uneven or rough
surfaces.
For example, in construction, thicker
adhesive layers are commonly used for
bonding materials like wood, metal, or
concrete, where a strong and durable bond
is essential.
