Getting Started

Do not use the X-Plane option “start each flight cold and dark” in the
“Operations & Warnings” page in the “Settings” menu.

If you do, XP will set some settings that I can’t account for.

Instead, start with the engines running, and push the “Cold and Dark” push button
in the “Hidden Cockpit Page”.

This will configure the aircraft cold and dark and will set up the aircraft for an
eventful start using this checklist.

a. When COMB side reaches 3000 PSI, return to neutral

11. HYD TRANSFER PUMP switch Normal


a. FLT side will maintain COMB side 2,400 to 2,600 psi
12. HYD TRANSFER PUMP switch SHUTOFF

13. ENG CRANK [X] Left Engine


14. Left Throttle IDLE at 20 Percent RPM
15. L GEN light Out
16. L FUEL PRESS light Out
17. Idle engine instrument readings Check
a. RPM 62 to 78 Percent
b. EGT 500° (nominal)
c. FF 950 to 1400 Pph (nominal)
d. NOZ position 100 Percent
e. OIL 25 to 35 psi (nominal)

f. COMB HYD PRESS 3,000 Psi

19. HYD TRANSFER PUMP switch NORMAL
POSTSTART – Pilot

1. STAB AUG switches All ON


2. MASTER TEST switch EMERG GEN
3. MASTER RESET pushbutton Depress
Verify AFCS caution lights extinguished.
4. MASTER TEST switch OFF
5. Controls and Displays ON
6. AFTC Check
a. L ENG MODE SELECT switch SEC
L ENG SEC light illuminates, RPM Drop, left NOZ indicator
pointer below zero
b. Advance L throttle to ensure engine response
c. L ENG MODE SELECT switch PRI
L ENG SEC light goes out, left NOZ indicator to 100 percent
d. R ENG MODE SELECT switch SEC
R ENG SEC light illuminates, RPM Drop, right NOZ indicator
pointer below zero
e. Advance R throttle to ensure engine response
f. R ENG MODE SELECT switch PRI
R ENG SEC light goes out, right NOZ indicator to 100 percent
7. EMERGENCY WING SWEEP handle OV SW
8. WING/EXT TRANS switch OFF
9. COMM/NAV/GEAR/DISPLAYS ON
10. Trim set 000

11. Standby gyro Erect


12. MASTER RESET pushbutton Depress
13. MASTER TEST switch OBC
14. AUTOPILOT Switch ENGAGE
15. OBC Initiate
16. Speedbrake Switch EXT, then RET
17. REFUEL PROBE switch ALL EXT, then RET
18. WSHLD AIR switch Cycle

Ensure adequate clearance before moving wings

21. EMERGENCY WING SWEEP handle 20° /Cover down
