Opted for premature Retirement in 2007(on completion of 29 years of Service) from Federal Board of
Revenue (FBR) Islamabad as Chief (IT & VAT Reforms). In 2009 appointed as Director General (MIS &
Tax Reforms) in MP-1.

General: Have worked at following organizations and carry a rich experience of over 40 years
working both in Public Sector domain regulators with FBR, State Bank of Pakistan, Bangladesh
Bank-Dhaka, NBR(National Board of Revenue-Dhaka, and Private Financial services domain in
close liaison with SBP etc. for nearly 10 years now.)
Specialise in providing consulting & Advisory services for Digital Financial Services Sector domain of
Pakistan actively interacting with regulators especially SBP/PTA for acquisition of licenses (Principal
approvals till acquisition of commercial licenses) in the domain of PSO/PSP, TPSP, EMI, and other
financial inclusion initiatives of the Govt of Pakistan/SBP etc.

Non-Executive Member on Summit Bank Board of Directors. Chairman of two Committees on IT &
Compliance and Member on Bank Audit Committee and HR Committee.

1. (VRG) Virtual Remittances Gateway (Pvt) limited –Karachi (Financial Inclusion /PSO/PSP Project).
For the last 3 years I was working as a lead for the E-commerce assignment which entailed seeking
license for PSP/PSO,TPSP (Third Party Service Provider Licenses),EMI acquisition and Commercial/
Principal approvals under the regulations and its implementations

2. InfoTech (Pvt) limited. -Lahore (Nov-2011- Nov- 2016).


Designation: Principal Consultant (Tax Reforms, E-Commerce and Regulatory matters with SBP).
For a year was based in Accra heading the Registration Department of Ghana (RGD) for implementation
of WB Reforms program.

5. Central Bank (Bangladesh Bank)- Bangladesh (July 2008 – Dec-2008)


Designation: Program Manager/Banking Reforms. Two years assignment but could only complete 6
months when due to aggravating political situation I had to return to Pakistan..

6. State Bank Of Pakistan (World Bank Funded Project). (2000-2005)
Designation: Program Manager/Advisor on Banking Reforms.(Senior position reporting directly to
the Governor as Executive Director SBP) Under arrangement with UNDP to head Pakistan’s
largest Banking Sector Reforms (Automation Project-FSDIP known as Financial Sector Deepening
Project) of over US$ 33.5 million.(direct reporting to Governor Dr.Ishrat Husain)

8. Federal Board Of Revenue (1991-2000)


As a member of the reforms team worked with IMF resident team for about 2 years in the VAT reforms
Project during 1995-1996/1997 along with Price Water House Coopers U.K. based consultants The
reforms process was funded by DFID. Developed in house VAT Software solution application &
implemented at 12 Sales Tax FBR (Hq).
