Purpose of the Document
This document captures in detail the transactional steps required in the SAP
system to be performed to meet the business requirements as envisaged in
the Business Blueprint phase. The screen shots along with rationale of all the
steps are also provided.
The documentation provides visibility to all project teams members on the

process flow in the system. This is very important due to the highly
integrated nature of SAP.
This training manual outlines the way, how the Production Planning &
Control (PP) Module should be executed for Atul Auto Ltd. as per the
requirement of their business scenarios.

Process flow of Chassis Number Management covered in this document is as

follows:
1) Creation of 17-digit Serial Number (ZPP_SRNO)

2) Creation of Chassis Number (ZPP_IE01)
1) Process Title: Chassis Number Management
Chassis Number Management is handled by two processes in the system. The

linkage of the Vehicle Chassis number and Engine number is also catered in the
below processes. Following steps will throw the light on complete process.
A. Program to create 17-digit serial number ZPP_SRNO
B. Program to create Chassis Number ZPP_IE01
PROCEDURAL STEPS
Via Transaction Code ZPP_SRNO
Selection of Model
from list (F4)
Enter Quantity
Click 'ADD'
 Enter the data in the highlighted areas. Any incorrect data entry will not
be permitted by system.

 Entry of Current month & previous month is allowed to be entered.

 Duplication of 5-digit number is not allowed.
 Check & Save will enable to create 17-digit serial number.

Via Transaction Code ZPP_IE01
 Entry Screen as shown. Here the list of generated and not generated
Chassis number can be selected as per Model number.
 This screen displays the created 17-digit number. Selecting “create

equipment” & link Engine number to the respective Chassis number, will
create the complete Chassis number in the system.
3. "Save" will create the Chassis number.

 The system gives message on Chassis number generation as shown below.

The Message confirms the linking of Chassis & Engine number. Incorrect
entry of Engine number will not be linked to the created Chassis
number. Activity of linking will be done manually.
o Engine number assigned to the Chassis number succesfully.
o Engine Number not assigned ti the Chassis number.

The reversal process of Chassis Number management triggers from the

Cancellation of the GR (MB31) from production of the incorrect Chassis number
(Stock assignment with the Chassis number is removed).
 Select the path as shown below
 Material Document is the only input to provide for cancellation of GR

 Identify the Engine no. linked to Incorrect Chassis number
 Enter the number & continue

 Select the Engine no. to be removed & follow the path for Dismantling

 Engine number is removed from the Incorrect Chassis Number

Deletion flag activation to the incorrect Chassis number. The deleted Chassis
number can be used in future if required by revoking its deletion flag.
 Enter the material number for the FG (vehicle)
 Complete list of Chassis number is generated.

If the same 5-digit number is to be used, some very important activity needs to
be done in the system. We have to make some Database maintenance activity
in the system. Table Entries from SAP tables ZPP_SERIALNO &
ZPP_SRNO_5DIGIT to be deleted. Thus again the number becomes reusable for
any other model number.
 Enter ZPP_SRNO_5DIGIT & press Maintain
 Select the line & delete
 Save the Entries

The incorrect Chassis number is reversed till its last end. New entry can be
executed now with standard path & GR for the same order can be done
selecting the Correct Serial Number.
If the Chassis Number for 1st material is to be linked with 2nd material follow
the steps below.
 Enter the 1st material & Execute
 Complete list of Chassis number is generated.
 Make the screen in Change mode & select the Chassis number for which
material assignment is to be changed.
