Radiation Concentration Of Unknown Samples Using A Uv...
etermination of iodine concentration of Unknown samples using a UV Visible
Spectrophotometer.
Abstract:
The purpose of this experiment is to use UV/Visible Spectrophotometer to determine the
concentration on three unknown samples of iodine (A, B and C), this is done by
measuring the absorbance of different known concentration of iodine using a UV/Visible
Spectrophotometer and plotting a calibration curve of Absorbance Vs Concentration (as
shown in Fig 4). This is used to find the concentration of the unknown samples as the
absorbance was measured using a UV Spectrophotometer. The wavelength used to
measure the absorbance is 287.20 nm and the method number used was 40 . The
concentration of Samples A, B and C are 1.48*10 4M, 1.03*10 4M ... Show more content

When a light set at a specific wavelength enters the cuvette which contains the solution
that need to be tested, some of the incident light (I0) is absorbed by the solution, and the
rest of the light which leaves the solution (the transmitted light I) is detected, the amount
of light absorbed depends on the concentration of the solution. The amount of light that
goes into the solution and the amount of light that leaves the solution gives a value of the
absorbance (A) of the solution which can be calculated by using the equation: (A= log (I
/I0)). This equation assumes that all the incident light is either transmitted or absorbed,
therefore, reflection or scattering are insignificant. [1]
The quantity of light absorbed is inversely proportional to the logarithm of the amount of
light absorbed by the substance. The amount of light absorbed by a substance is directly
proportional to the concentration of the substance (As the concentration increases, the
absorbance also increases provided that the wavelength is constant). [1]
A= lc [1]
Where is the substance and wavelength specific absorption coefficient,
I is the length the light travels through the sample and c is the concentration of the
sample. [1]
To comprehend the theory behind how a spectrophotometer works, an understanding of
the relationship between energy and light must be required. Light contains tiny packs
Analysis Of The Death Of The Ball Turret Gunner
With every great video game there is always a final battle as the same goes with every
great movie there is always a great ending, the same goes for life as long as we live
our lives although not always long but anyways amazing life sadly must always coming
to an end even the beautiful flowers in your garden or a new born puppy that is just
born, that s why people try to tell you to live your life to the fullest extent. In the poems
Deathbe not proud , Because I could not Stop for Death and Death of the Ball Turret
Gunner all highlight different deaths and each having there our unique symbol and
importance. In Randall Jarrell`s The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner , although short
describes a the hard and short lived life of a Ball Turret Gunner who drives a plane
that doesn`t have a parachute his plane must have been hit or crashed because early in
the poem you can he is death bed. As the Gunner is dying he is having the death
flashbacks they say you have when you re on the verge of dying he first mentions his
mother saying From my mother`s sleep I fell into the State , probably comparing his
mother s sleep to his early signs of death .Then he remembers the experience of being
that high in the air flying the plane and comments six miles from earth, loosed from its
dream of life , using the plane distance from Earth to represent him furthering more and
more into death calling life a dream. The most tragic part of this poem comes at the end
when the Gunner is
Domestic Disaster Assistance
Domestic Disaster Assistance Versus International Assistance
Numerous definitions of disasters exist with differing criteria such as the number of
fatalities or amount of property damage. This author defines disasters in the following
manner. Within a country a disaster occurs when its magnitude overwhelms the ability of
the local resources to adequately respond the to victims. For international disasters, the
magnitude must overwhelm the ability of the entire country to adequately respond to the
victims. The philosophy, mission, and purpose for domestic disaster assistance shall now
be compared and contrasted with international disaster assistance. The domestic disaster
assistance philosophy focuses on activities within the ... Show more content on

Both of these areas advocate saving lives, meeting the needs of the disaster victims, and
engaging in preparedness activities. The primary difference between international and
domestic assistance lies in their respective philosophy. The domestic philosophy focuses
inward, involves a whole community approach, and addresses property protection. The
international philosophy, however, focuses on the numerous international actors and
advances safeguards for the host county. In the final analysis, everyone would agree that
the goal of saving lives is paramount.

Essay On The Boston Massacre
Everyone always asks why there were only five people that died in the Boston
massacre, it will be discovered today. The Boston Massacre occurred on March 5, 1770
in Boston Massachusetts at the Boston s customs house. The British troops were sent to
Boston in 1768, because of taxation. While the British soldiers were in Boston, the
American colonist decided to mess with the Soldiers. As this was happening, the patriots
had been protesting against the British troops. The British troops getting word from their
captain, to get ready to guard and attack. As the crowd starts to rile this led to five
people dying.
In the photo, it mentions that Just three weeks after British soldiers shot and killed
five Bostonians and wounded six others, the silversmith and patriot Paul Revere
produced this engraving, which depicts the British massacring peaceful colonists in
cold blood. The leader of the British troops is Thomas Preston. There s always two
sides to every story. Listening to Theodore Bliss, He was on the Patriots side.
Theodore said he saw the patriots throw a couple of snow balls first. A couple of them
hit the soldiers, then before the patriots knew it, the Soldiers started to fire. Theodore
says he didn t hear the captain say to fire when shots were fired. He was uncertain,
soldiers and patriots were saying it, and Theodore could differentiate who was saying
what. But Theodore doesn t know whether it came from the captain or not. There were
about a hundred of people
