Education in America Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of education in America can be a formidable task. The topic
encompasses a vast array of issues, ranging from the structure of the education system to its
effectiveness, equity, funding, policies, societal impacts, and more.
To start, one must delve into the historical context of education in America, tracing its evolution
from colonial times to the modern era. Then, there's the intricate web of policies at federal, state, and
local levels, each influencing the educational landscape in unique ways.
Discussing the challenges within the system demands a nuanced approach. Issues such as disparities
in access, achievement gaps, standardized testing controversies, school funding inequities, teacher
shortages, curriculum debates, and the role of technology all warrant careful examination.
Navigating through the vast body of research, statistics, case studies, and expert opinions requires
time, patience, and analytical rigor. Crafting a coherent argument while acknowledging the
complexities and nuances of the topic is essential to produce a well-rounded essay.
Furthermore, addressing potential solutions and reforms adds another layer of complexity. Proposals
for improvement often spark intense debate, reflecting the diverse ideologies and priorities within
American society.
But why does this simple word cause great debates? In a documentary[2] called Allow
me to die Peter Ketelsleger is a healthy young father of two. He suffers from cluster
headaches which is a neurological disorder which causes recurrent, severe headaches
on one side of the head. He describes them as knives being stuck in his head .His wife
allows him to be euthanasia because she understand his pain and does not want to be
selfish. Their kids, aged 8 and 10 year old boys understand as well. If two kids can
understand the pain why cant mature grown ups too? In some cases like this a right to
die isn t necessary. People have the freedom of choices including the right have control
over their own body and life as long as they don t violate or offend any other person s
rights. Euthanasia not only helps the terminally ill patient to end their suffering quickly
and humanely but it allows them to die with dignity which gives peace of mind to
families and friends.
Legalizing euthanasia would not only allow terminally ill people to die with dignity but
it would also help lifting the taboo[3] of suicide that society has. Is euthanasia a choice
that we all should have? Some people could argue that we don t have a choice in life or
death but imagine being Peter. Had he committed suicide his family would be crushed
with the taboo of suicide and the malicious remarks from others wouldn t help
otherwise. But by taking the euthanasia route to die peacefully and painlessly Peter
made sure his family knew he died without suffering and without the constant nagging of
society saying that those who end their lives are cowards. Society is wonderful yet
surprisingly ignorant. Whilst euthanasia is slowly being accepted by the society suicide
is still frowned upon in certain circles. People have
Cloning Argumentative Essay
Over the last few decades Science Fiction has become an incredibly popular genre, but
could you imagine something thought to be science fiction is actually science fact?
Movies like Multiplication, Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones, and, Splice
all have one thing in common, Cloning! This controversial topic was once thought to
be imaginary, but has recently been pefected and many mixed opinions are developing
because of it. Scholastic Scope magazine even came out with an article called Should
You Clone Your Pet? . The way it works is, you take the embryo, a cluster of cells, from
one organism then implant that embryo in a female of the same species womb. Finally
you end up with a clone of the organism that you took the embryo of.... Show more

I think cloning a deceased pet is a terrible idea because, it seems extremely
disrespectful. To me it seems like you re replacing your pet, and if you don t mind
replacing a pet with a genetic copy the original pet must not have met that much to
you. If a beloved family member died would you create a copy of them? I know I
wouldn t. How would you feel if one day you die and are immediately replaced by a
genetic copy of yourself. Doesn t that take away from who you are? Every human on
earth is different from each other and creating an exact replica of any living thing
makes it less like a living creature and more like something that can be mass produced
in a factory. Everyone is special and I think cloning takes away from that. Another
reason I m against cloning recreationally (cloning for your enjoyment not to cure
diseases and sniff out bombs and such) is if you have a younger child that s dog dies
and you decide to clone it, doesn t that take away the perpetuity of death for this child? If
someone close to this child dies and they think they can just replace them than the shock
of that being untrue will be much worst than their grief over a deceased dog. To
conclude my complicated opinion, when something/someone is dead leave it to rest!
Horror movies have taught that messing with others lives (or deaths) only ends bad for
you.
In conclusion, cloning pets or animals
How Did The Great Depression Affect Society
Poverty. Loneliness. Depression. All of these things were present during the Great
Depression. The Great Depression began in 1929, and was the worst economic disaster
in the history of the U.S. The Great Depression was not the only economic crisis though.
There were many other in history. The real question is, how do economic disasters such
as the Great Depressionaffect society?
The Great Depression lasted from 1929 to 1939 and is the biggest economic crisis in
U.S history. One of the biggest reasons that the Great Depression occurred was the
Stock Market Crash of 1929. Through the 1920s, the economy grew a large amount, and
the wealth of the U.S more than doubled during the Roaring Twenties, a period of time
between 1920 and 1929. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Great Depression had many bad effects. Consumer spending and investment
dropped and industrial output dropped very quickly. Banks tried to help the economy
by buying up store blocks, but it resulted in a rally. A rally is when there is a period of
increased prices of stocks, shares, etc. (Alexander, April 20, 2018). Failing companies
had to lay off many workers and half of the country s banks failed. Out of work
Americans filled long breadlines, begged for food, and sold apples on street corners.
A Chicago social worker wrote, We saw want and despair walking the streets, and our
friends, sensible, thrifty families reduced to poverty. (Khan Academy More than a
third of the nation s banks failed in the following 3 years after 1929. Farmers were hit
very hard by the crisis. Falling crop prices, and drought in Oklahoma, Texas, and
Kansas brought on the Dust Bowl. Hitler s rise to power was also fueled by the
economic slowdown. The Credit Crisis of 1772 had many effects as well. Because of the
crisis, the credit markets would never properly recover. Merchant houses were forced to
tighten their credit strings in order to hang on, and insist on stricter terms with their
account bankers. Another disaster that had multiple effects was the 2008 Financial
Crisis. When the derivatives the banks sold lost money, the banks panicked when they
realized that they would have to pay for the lost money, and they

Unit 2 Research Essay
24 October 2016 The Renaissance painter, sculptor, and poet Michelangelo is famous
not only for his painting of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel or his sculpture of the
Biblical King David, but he also created another Biblical figure, the Hebrew Prophet
Moses. The sculpture was commissioned by Pope Julius II, in an attempt to mirror his
larger than life reputation and personality. Michelangelo Moses along with other pieces
of sculpture and artwork were to be enshrined in the Pope s planned resting place, with
the Moses statue placed opposite of another figure of Saint Paul. However, it would
never come to be, as the Moses sculpture would not be completed until more than 30
years after Pope Julius death in 1513. Pope Julius II had commissioned Michelangelo to
paint the Sistine Chapel as well as build his entire tomb, but the chapel frescos occupied
all of the painter s time (Michelangelo Gallery.com). However, once the Sistine Chapel
frescos were finally completed Michelangelo immediately resumed his work on Moses,
completing it in 1545. This sculpture marks a significant innovation, combining
sculpturing and architecture for the first time in his career. Completed out of nothing
but marble, the Moses became one of Michelangelo s crowning achievements along
with the Sistine Chapel frescos and his sculpture of David. It was placed on the second
tier of Pope Julius II s tomb which is housed in the church of San
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Travel
Viva Las Vegas! If it has been a while since your last couple s getaway, maybe now is
the time to start thinking about taking a trip together. After all, a little vacation time
can do wonders for a relationship. According to a survey conducted by the U.S. Travel
Association, 63 percent of the couples who were polled believe that travel helps
couples stay together longer. If travel is not in your budget, do not let that keep you
from hitting the slots. Instead, enjoy a date night in Las Vegas without leaving your
couch by ordering a datelivery box for your next staycation. Not every couple can
afford regular getaways, and for them we suggest a staycation from the comfort of your
home or a local hotel. That way you can still take in the... Show more content on

If anything, it can detract from your time together. Whether you are on a vacation or
enjoying a date night box at home, you can unplug from the rest of the world without
feeling guilt or anxiety over your messages that are piling up. Your team can take care
of while you are gone. Take the opportunity to unplug from the rest of the world and
focus on each other without any distractions. 4. Rekindle Your Romance A couple s
getaway, whether out of town or at home, often allows you and your partner to reach a
level of physical intimacy that can easily fall by the wayside when work and other
responsbilities get in the way. In fact, regular touching starts to ramp up when you are
away on vacation. Whether you are cuddling in bed or holding hands on the beach,
increasing your intimacy levels helps to rekindle that spark both of you had at the
beginning of your relationship. 5. Try New Things The secret ingredient for
successful relationships is having fun together, which often can be brought about by
trying new things. For example, a date night in Las Vegas, whether it is in your living
room with a Datelivery box or in Sin City itself, will give you plenty of opportunities
to share a new experience together. If you have never before been to Vegas, try your
hand at gambling or take in a show or eat at a different restaurant. If you are having a
Vidia In Susan Glaspell s Pixie Hollow
Everyone who knows Vidia, especially if they are from Pixie Hollow, knows that
Vidia is many things. She is very mischievous, some say that is a good trait, but for her
not so much. She is very quick to cause annoyance, she causes more harm than good
with being mischievous. Some would say injurious at times. Vidia has a short temper,
may fairies have learned that quickly. The slightest littlest thing can set her off, making
her grouchy for days. In Pixie Hollow, she is said to be the fastest fairy and she makes it
known. In the real world, the streets of New York, she still makes it known and still
thinks herself better than the others. Vidia is the best fairy of them overall and berates
anyone who thinks otherwise.
Jealous? Of course, but she will never admit to it. When Tinkerbell came on the scene
that was when Vidia learned that she did have a jealous bone in her body. How could
someone like Tinker fairy? Was it the blonde hair? The fact she was new? Or the way
she looked in her little green dress and cotton balls on her flats? Whatever it is, Vidia
was and still not pleased by how Tinkerbell outshines her, even when that is never the
case. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
many bad traits and is mean. Deep inside, she is actually kind, protective, and sassy.
Yes, Sassy. She ll never admit to any of those. In her own way, she shows that she is
kind in her own way. Yea, she may have fed into the idea that Tinkerbell had of going
to the Mainland, she may of helped in the new fairy embarrassing herself, but in the
end Vidia is actually protective, caring of the fairy. In the reality of New York, she
looks out for the fairy, one would think she is smitten by the fairy. It s no secret that
Vidia swings both ways; in fact she will be the first to admit to who she hooked up
with the night before. Boy or girl, she has no shame and most of it is said even when the
night before she sat in the coffee shop, reading and drinking
Investigating And Writing About The Ashanti People
For my research paper, I am going to be investigating and writing about the Ashanti
people. The Ashanti people inhabit what is today Ghana, West Africa, with their capital
city being Kumasi. I am interested in this subject because I spent four weeks of this
summer in Ghana. While I spent most of my time with the Fante people on the coast, we
toured Manhyia Palace in Kumasi and I was instantly intrigued by the Ashanticulture. I
also personally know an Ashanti that has moved to the United States, which makes me
all the more interested to explore how globalization, as defined by Manfred Steger, has
shaped her life and culture. The issues that I am going to be investigating in this paper
are ones that I have had first hand experience with:... Show more content on

Ghana was called The Gold Coast until its independence was gained from the British in
the 1900s, due to the abundance of gold. This, along with the eventual slave trade was a
catalyst for the arrival of Europeans in the area in 1471. The Ashanti Empire was founded
in 1697 by King Osei Tutu I. At its height, the Ashanti Empire was incredibly rich and
powerful, larger than modern day Ghana, and even had European advisors. Dress was
extravagant, rituals were important, and courts, tax systems, and military organizations
were all being employed. Yet, as is the case with many African nations around this time,
conflict with Europeans eventually arose. The first conflict between the Ashanti and
Europeans was with the British, and it occurred in 1824. The Ashanti emerged victorious
with the death of the British governor. During the second conflict with the British, the
Ashanti were defeated and Kumasi was captured. The near fall of the Ashanti Empire
came in 1896, when the Ashanti were defeated by the British and King Prempeh was
exiled to the Seychelles. After this, the Ashanti attempted one last attack on the British
fort, spurred on by the disrespect they were being shown by the British governor, but they
were ultimately defeated. However, many of the traditions and cultural aspects of the
ancient Ashanti s still exist today.
Art and language are two ways in which Ashanti culture has been preserved
