Geogebra Lab Report
This investigation did have its limitations however. The aspect of drawing the design
on a piece of paper posed no limitations, these began to start when technology was in
use. Creating a domain for the circle on geogebra was beyond my capabilities. This did
not dramatically affect my design but it would improve the overall atheistic of the piece.
Other limitations included the inability to create curved edges with ease (for example
the nose). This was possible, however was very difficult as I did not have the knowledge
to create these using technology.
This investigation looked at five different mathematical modelling techniques and the
effect when domains were set for a function. These modelling techniques were used to
construct an illustration. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The equation for the linear function used was Ax By=A_1 B_1. A and B are
represented in the form A/B after finding the slope using the formula (y_2 y_1)/x_(2
x_1 ) . Once the slope has been found these are substituted into the equation as well a
known coordinate on the line segment (A_1,B_1). This process can be seen in figure 3
Aim
To use mathematical modelling techniques to create a picture using a combination of
linear, quadratic, cubic, rational functions and circles. The picture will be reproduced
using graphical software and particular attention will be paid to identification of domain
of the chosen functions. (Maenpaa, M 2015).
Method and Results
A picture was drawn onto some graph paper. This needed to consist of a minimum 6 or
more functions that include the five modelling techniques (linear, quadratic, cubic,
rational functions and circles). The picture designed was popular cartoon character
Homer Simpson. Once the picture had all coordinates and functions labelled it was then
recreated on a graphing package (GeoGebra)

Freedom And Liberty In Chains By Laurie Halse Anderson
During the American Revolution, different people had different points of views on
Freedom and Liberty. In the book, Chains by Laurie Halse Anderson, it talks about
these different types of people and their views. More specifically, the slaves, Patriots,
and Loyalists. The varying perspectives on this certain topic, drove bad actions between
these three groups. Patriots were very rebellious and did not agree with the hierarchy,
British, Loyalists, nor the King. While, the Loyalists were complete opposite and obeyed
all laws made by the King and Britain. Slaves, on the other hand, were most passionate
about rights, liberty, and freedom. Both the Patriots and the Loyalists owned slaves and
did not allow them entitlement, making the slaves indecisive... Show more content on

They hated the views of the governed and wanted equality for all, including a voice in
the government and equal rights. According to the text, it states, The British care not
for us, they only care for victory. Patriots own slaves, yes, but you must listen to their
words: all men, created equal. The words come first. They ll pull the deeds and the
justice behind them. (a slave 164). This shows that the Patriots, or rebels as some call
them, say that all men are born with the same liberty, privileges, and rights. They fight
for having an opinion, in the colonies/government. In contrast, Loyalists have a very
different, if not opposite, point of view on Freedom and Liberty. Most Loyalists are of
the hierarchy and believe they deserve more than anyone socially lower than them.
They believe those who are not alike, do not merit liberty nor freedom. As stated in the
book, Freedom and liberty has many meanings, Lockton finally said. Am I free to
return to my home? Shall I be at liberty from the improper meddling of your
Committee? (Master Lockton 31). Master Lockton is of the higher status and, of
course, a Loyalist. He is arguing with a Patriot Committee and gives his perspective on
Freedom and Liberty. This demonstrates that Loyalists are very loyal to the King and
believe obeying will increase your social state. They think of freedom as having no
disturbances in their
Benefits Of Oil Drilling In The Arctic National Wildlife...
The question is should we drill for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Reserve. While
there are downfalls to drilling the Arctic National Wildlife Reserve, the benefits to the
country and to Alaska far outweigh them. These benefits include lower gas prices,
more jobs, energy independence. First off, there are many benefits of oil drilling in the
ANWR. It will lower the gas prices for all of the U.S. The reason it will lower the gas
prices because we will be using our own oil instead of buying oil from other countries.
Lower gas prices will help the economy out very sufficiently because you won t be
spending as much money on gas and could use that extra money to pay off bills or if
you re a teen and only making 8.05 an hour and have to pay
Unit 424 Referencing For Research Paper
424 Task 1.1 Introduction Referencing is when you acknowledge materials used while
researching, including books; papers; websites and other published or unpublished
materials. References are used to acknowledge the parts of your work that are based
on information from other outside sources and have been written by someone else not
by yourself. References are a way to acknowledge the other authors and give them
accreditation. If you fail to use references, what you have written would be classed as
plagiarism and will be discredited. When to use referencing Referencing should be used
whenever quotations of an original text is used or you refer to quotations and paraphrase
any content that has been written by someone else. References could
Something Went Sour at Parmalat
Something went sour at Parmalat
The Italian dairy food corporation Parmalat SpA was founded by Calisto Tanzi in 1961
and grew to a global company. It had about 140 production centers, 36,000 employees
and 5,000 contracted dairy farms (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parmalat). The dairy food
giant defaulted on debt in November 2002 and filed bankruptcy in December 2003. It
sounds ridiculous because Parmalat s subsidiary in Cayman Islands had a $4.9 billion
cash balance in Bank of America account. However, this account was falsified.
Meanwhile, Parmalat also hid losses of $10 billion and increasing assets as high as $19
billion. The auditors did not show enough professional skeptism and due care during the
audit.
When receiving the smudged fax copy, the auditor should prove the confirmation letter.
In this case, the auditors can search online or other independent source (i.e. non client
source) to get phone number and email address of Bank of America and contact with the
bank immediately. The auditors should also request the original confirmation be mailed
directly to the firm. The original confirmation is more convincing to a faxed one.
There are several red flags: (1) The large size of the bank account. The account
represents 38% of Parmalat s assets. It is not normal for such a big company having so
much money in a single account. (2) The location of the account. Parmalat deposited
money in a foreign bank made it hard to confirm the balance and direct communication
between the bank and the auditors. (3) It is not understandable Parmalat raised more than
$5 billion debt when it had $4.9
Chromium Essay
Chromium, the seventh most abundant element on earth is a transition metal from
group VI B .It is found in nature as the bound form constituting approximately 0.1 0.3
mg.g 1 of the earth s crust. The name of the element is derived from the Greek word
chroma meaning color, because many of its compounds are intensely colored. Cr is
able to exist in several oxidation states, of which the trivalent Cr (III) and hexavalent Cr
(VI) species are the most stable and abundant forms (Zayed Terry et al., 2003).
The most stable form of chromium is its trivalent oxidation state which is primarily
found geologically as chromite (FeCr2O4) (Cervantes et al., 2001). Cr (III) is naturally
occurring, whereas Cr (VI) is of anthropogenic origin. This ... Show more content on

The deficiency of chromium has been implicated in impaired insulin action, which can
cause glucose intolerance, elevated glucose blood levels, diabetes, elevated cholesterol
levels, obesity and heart diseases, as well as other conditions not yet documented.
Chromium is considered the cofactor for all the actions of the hormone insulin, primarily
the regulation of carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism. Signs of chromium
deficiency are widespread; they tend to be associated with aging, and are consistent with
the progressive decline in body and organ content of chromium from birth onward.
Chromium deficiency impairs glucose utilization and disturbs protein and lipid
metabolism
The biological effect of chromium is highly dependent on its oxidation state. Cr(VI) is
highly toxic and has been shown to be a mutagen and carcinogen, whereas Cr(III) is
considered to be relatively innocuous, probably due to the inability of Cr(III) to
penetrate cells (Cervantes et al., 2001; Codd et al., 2001).Chromate alone does not
react with DNA in vitro, however, in the presence of reductants a wide variety of DNA
lesions, including Cr DNA adducts, DNA DNA crosslinks, DNA protein crosslinks and
oxidative damage occurs (Codd et al., 2001).
Under normal physiological conditions, Cr6+ reacts spontaneously with the intracellular
reductants (e.g. ascorbate and glutathione) to generate the short lived intermediates Cr5+
and/or Cr4+ free radicals and the end product Cr3+
It All Started With The Screaming And Fighting Of My Dad
It all started with the screaming and fighting of my dad and stepmom. I hadn t ever met
my mom I was token away at birth and was deprived of the visits of my birth mom. My
dog had always stayed by my side. Her name is Tukie. Tukie was 10 years old. My dad
got him as a puppy for his special needs. My dad would have a stroke every month, to
then go paralyzed for the rest of that week. Due to this I had missed lots of school and
had unacceptable grades. My sister who had died after college, to be exact a month after
the graduation, had finished college on the honor role. By the age 5 I had gone blind in
my left eye. The recover was a flop. I had lost my vision in my left eye forever. The first
day in the hospital Tukie came to visit he had... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My final days of happiness 10/9/01 I was walking home from school my house keys in
my hand. Turning the doorknob was the last step. As I slowly open the door I dropped
to my knees at the sight of the blood on the floor.
My head ached as I lay on the floor of the cardboard of a UPS shipping box. I had
nothing but clothes and a sign that read Please I need food, I lost my family. I had found
my new home. I had $20 dollars but had $10 dollars stolen. I had bought rice and
chicken that night. Little did I know the next day would be better. I was looking
across the street when I saw my mom then a car zoomed by and she disappeared. But
that was the highlight of my day. Then an hour after the sighting a blue haired woman
came up to me and hugged me I was shocked at what had happen tell I saw the features
of this lady s face it was my stepmom.
Hi, Durla.
She was here for me? She was here for the will? She was in town? Whatever it was the
safety of her big booming voice had made me just happy to see her.
What are you doing here?
The tears fell down my face leaving a cold and damp trail along my face.
I came back I realized I was wrong... What are you doing out here in this gruesome
place all alone. The sharp painful memory of my dad on the floor popped into my
head as I slowly dropped to the floor snivelling. Warm hands had wrapped around me.
After the crying I didn t want to tell her that my dad was dead and I had woken
