I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, learners should be able to:
1. analyze and present the song in terms of text and melody/tune;
2. show cooperation while doing the activity; and
3. perform the activity spectacularly.

II. CONTENT
A. Topic: Traditional Composers (Presentation of activity)
B. Reference: Sunico, Raul M., Evelyn F. Cabanban, & Melissa Y. Moran. Grade 10
Learner’s Material. HORIZONS Music and Arts Appreciation for Young Filipinos.
Philippines: Tawid Publications, 2015.
C. Materials: Ppt, laptop, speaker, and television.

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Daily Routine

d. Checking of Attendance
2. Review of the Lesson
 The students will share their thoughts and knowledge about the lesson
taught yesterday.
B. Motivation
 The students will play “Song tanong”.
 The teacher will play different compositions by Nicanor Abelardo and
Francisco Santiago, then the students will have to guess the title of the
music.

C. Lesson Proper
 The teacher will ask the students one by one about the compositions of the
first set of Contemporary Filipino Composers.

D. Application
 The students will analyze and present the song Pilipinas kong mahal in
terms of text and melody/tune.
 The teacher will explain the instruction to the students.
 The students’ performance will be guided by the rubrics.

6-10 Give the best-known compositions of Nicanor Abelardo.

V. ASSIGNMENT

Make an advance reading about the life of Antonio J. Molina and Lucio San Pedro.
