3Rd Person Narrative Essay
3Rd Person Narrative Essay
3Rd Person Narrative Essay
Crafting a third-person narrative essay can prove to be quite challenging. Unlike first-person
narratives where the author can directly express their thoughts and experiences, writing in the
third person requires a level of detachment. It demands a careful balance between describing
events, emotions, and characters without delving too deeply into personal viewpoints.
Maintaining consistency in perspective throughout the essay is essential to avoid confusion for
the reader.
One of the difficulties lies in creating a believable and engaging narrative voice. Since the
narrator is detached from the story, finding the right tone and style to convey the events
becomes crucial. Additionally, ensuring that the narrative flows smoothly while adhering to
grammatical conventions can be a daunting task.
Another challenge is developing well-rounded characters without the luxury of delving into their
internal thoughts and feelings. The writer must rely on actions, dialogue, and external
observations to flesh out the characters and make them relatable to the reader.
Moreover, constructing a coherent plotline without relying too heavily on the narrator's
interpretation of events requires meticulous planning and execution. The narrative must unfold
naturally, allowing the reader to draw their conclusions without feeling guided by the author.
In conclusion, writing a third-person narrative essay demands attention to detail, a firm grasp of
storytelling techniques, and the ability to maintain consistency in perspective. Despite its
challenges, mastering this form of writing can lead to compelling and immersive narratives that
resonate with readers.

Tommy Douglas is one of the most successful politicians Canadians have ever seen.
He implemented many social policies and programs in Saskatchewan that were later
adopted throughout Canada. Most of his programs continue today and are an integral
part of
Canadian society. His greatest achievement was his implementation of Medicare in
Saskatchewan. Douglas never intended to be a politician but his concern for people
drove him to be one. Thomas Douglas was born in Falkirk, Scotland on October 20,
1904. Tommy moved to Winnipeg in 1911 along with his mother and sister to meet
his father who had migrated one year earlier. (1Thomas H Mcleod and Ian Mcleod,

Loss Of Power In Animal Farm
Around the horrifying event of the russian revolution many individuals began to lose
how they think for themselves and began turning into followers. After reading this
novel, it opened my eyes to how things can change drastically over time. It also
made me realize how people can begin to worship one person and not comprehend
things for themselves. . In this book there were many followers and only one leader
throughout the entire plot line. George Orwellmade everyone at the beginning of the
book equal, while changing their roles by the end of the book, lessening the
equality of individuals. In Animal Farm, the author George Orwell utilizes the
characteristics of power of the leader and loss of individuality of the followers to

he was changing really only had significant meaning to him and not so much
everybody else. For example, when Napoleon began to walk on his hind legs he

Advantages and Disadvantages
There are both advantages and disadvantages of the matrix structure; some of the
disadvantages are an increase in the complexity of the chain of command.
This occurs because of the dif ferentiation between functional managers and project
managers, which can be confusing for employees to understand who is next in the
chain of command. An additional disadvantage of the matrix structure is higher
manager to worker ratio that results in conf licting loyalties of employees. However
the matrix structure also has significant advantages that make it valuable for
companies to use. The matrix structure improves upon the silo critique of functional
management in that it diminishes the vertical stru cture of functional and creates a
more horizontal structure which allows the spread of information across task
boundaries to happen much quicker. Moreover, matrix structure allows for
specialization that can increase depth of knowledge allows individuals to be chosen
according to project needs.
This correlation between individuals and project needs is what produces the concept
The Hobbit, By. R. Tolkien Essay
For years, people of all ages have enjoyed The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, causing a
debate over whether or not this novel should be defined as a children s book. After
all, it contains many stereotypes of a children s book, including moral lessons and
character growth, yet, avid fans debate that it includes depth and darkness that
heighten it to the level of adults. In the end, does it really matter how people view it
from the outside? What might otherwise be important is the content it contains. Bilbo

However, this seems like an awfully large reputation for somebody who seems so
meek and homely towards the beginning of his journey. Luckily, over the course of
his pilgrimage to the Lonely Mountain, he grows in ways that have enabled this

more courageous and mature throughout the journey as well. This in total transforms
him from the weak link of his traveling company, into the person who become

Even though, AJS are losing customers there are various ways of attracting and
appealing the tourist industries and other businesses. They could create an online
catalogue, which allows the customers to see the layouts and designs of the products.
This allows the customer to be more interactive. My research has shown that 70%
companies use this method to appeal to their customers. If these opportunities are
available it would fascinate more customers.
One of the weaknesses is that the staffs don t have qualified skills to design the
web pages. This means that the staffs are more likely to have fewer skills and are
unable to create the web page professionally and would have limited possibilities.
Therefore, if the staffs are provided with opportunities to learn retraining. This
would mean that the staffs would be able to manage the page on a regular basis.
Instead of recruiting new staffs with higher salary. This would save the company
revenue as well as make the website interactive and appeal to the customers.
Moreover, to add web traffic they would charge the tourist industry for sharing the

tourist industries it will be an advantage, but to AJS Maps they will receive more

act allows lawyers and non lawyers to form businesses together and also permits

Narrative Essay About A Birthday
On a beautiful day in November it started off like any other day in our life. We had
such a special occasion to attend that evening at the local park to come together
and celebrate our nephew Andy s birthday. We all arrive and set up the event and
get all the balloons and decorations up and ready for Andy to arrive. We all sat
around and waited in suspense for him to arrive. Andy finally arrived and was so
surprised that everyone came to celebrate his day with him. His smile lit up from
ear to ear and the joy radiated from his body. He jumped up and down and hugged
all of us one by one. He could not believe that we were able to set this up without
him knowing or finding out any detail about this surprise. While all the family is
sitting together I begin to start having some slight pain but every part of me was
saying Just get through this party so you do not take the thunder away from Andy.
The pain lingered on and off and I began to count the minutes until it was time to
leave. Trying to get the pain to subside without being noticed, I started to sit and
then walk around hoping the pain would just stop. After about three hours the
party finally comes to an end and I was overcome with so much relief. I began to
whisper to my husband bobby, I think I might be in labor but do not freak out. As
the words slip out I was so worried what he was going to say and just started at him.
Bobby began to say with a muffled and breaking tone, We need to get you to the
Hamilton Vs The Lion King
There are few shows in the history of Broadway and musical theatre that can claim
to have ever had the popularity and mass intrigue as Lin Manuel Miranda s smash
hit, historical musical Hamilton. The two hour rap based musical tells the story of
America s founding father Alexander Hamilton from his immigration to New York to
rise in power amongst the first presidential cabinet and ultimate death at the hands of
a former ally. Gaining support from celebrities and President Obama only furthered
the popularity of the musical that continues to boast being sold out over a year in
advance. And while this mega popularity has proven an amazing achievement for
Hamilton, there has been some question as to whether or not Broadway and the world
of music... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After all, shouldn t the surge of new audience be able to fill up the empty seats in
other shows? This is unfortunately not the case. As explained by several
producers, sheer cost from popularity may be bringing down audience attendance.
The top price is now $850, but the headlines trumpet scalper prices of $5,000 and
up. And it appears that people want to see Hamilton so much, they re willing to
pay those prices for seats months, even a year, in advance. What they re not
willing to do is to spend big on Hamilton and see something else in the meantime
(Riedel). This type of splurging behavior has left other shows in the dark and
unable to fill seats forcing them to close. The most prominent example being
Shuffle Along, which despite featuring one of the most well known actresses on
Broadway, Audra McDonald, closed after only a few months (Playbill). The
sweeping change is most noticeable to the majority of the public however, through
the Annual Tony Awards. While the nominations have proven to be fairly spread
across the board of shows, the sweeping wins of Hamilton have changed the way in
which producers seek to advertise and attract ticket buyers. So why large budget
productions have been able to afford the costs of added print materials, smaller less
popular productions have resorted to more consumer based TV ads

The Effects of Sociocultural Factors on Individuals Essay
Swami Nirmalananda, a disciple of the Indian mystic Ramakrishna, once said Our
modern society is engaged in polishing and decorating the cage in which man is
kept imprisoned. Society is seen as a cage by many because the cultural beliefs that
make up the society are what guide the actions and behaviors of those people within.
Sometimes the culture in societies result in helping people develop successfully and
positively, but this is not always the case. For instance, societies that were challenged
by racism during the mid twentieth century were marked by rage and were the
causes of some troublesome lives. In two short stories set during the mid twentieth

the two were separated for a long period of time. Having support or being cared for
by family members is invaluable, but Sonny did not have this and it ultimately
resulted in one of the reasons for his troubled life. In Richard Wright s short story
The Man Who Was Almost a Man the main character, Dave Saunders, also faces a
problem which can be similarly traced to sociocultural factors. While shooting his gun
for the first time Dave accidentally shoots his boss , Mr. Hawkins, mule, and the
mule dies. The only reason Dave purchased a gun in the first place was to prove to
the others in society, specifically those who worked alongside him at Mr. Hawkins
plantation, that he was not a boy anymore, but rather a man. While working on Mr.
Hawkins plantation Dave is often humiliated by the older workers because they
think [he] ain t nothing but a boy (878). Also, the narrator states near the end of the
story that a group of people that has gathered around the dead mule on the
plantation laughs at Dave as he is walking away with tear filled eyes (886). Once
again this emphasizes that he receives no respect from the others. Mr. Hawkins
plantation is similar to the social environment in Harlem described in Sonny s Blues .

Art is always evolving with the people causing the styles and technique. In the 1900s
style of paintings started to change dramatically. The colors got brighter and the lines
became more curved, images started to become more abstract. This changed the
meaning of the paintings to be a more imaginative and creative. Cezanne and matisse

how they are interacting with each other. The emotions on the peoples faces are

Fruit Mold Lab Report
Fruit Molds

Abstract
In this lab we looked at the mold on three different fruits in three different
environments to asses which fruit would have the most mold and in which
environment the mold would be present the most. For the experiment we used fruits
that were in season so that we could also compare organic and non organic fruit.
Because of this my group chose tomatoes, peaches and apples. We hypothesized that
peaches would rot the most out of each of the fruits and that the peaches would rot
the most in our warmest environment, the incubator. The fruits were then observed
over a period of weeks. At the end of this period of time the peaches had rotted the
most and burst and the peaches in the incubator were the first to go.
Introduction
After learning about different types of mold in lab as well as in lecture, my group and
I were interested in studying mold more. We wanted to know which fruits from our
selected few would rot the most and in which environment would they be most likely
to rot or mold in. We learned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

increments we found that the peaches and the tomatoes were pretty close together but

How Did Lenin Gain Power In October 1917

October 1917?
Lenin s idealistic political beliefs, combined with his professional revolutionary
status and the previous mistreatment of the people led to the Bolsheviks seizing
power in October 1917. Of course there were other factors that contributed heavily to
the Bolsheviks succession into power it wasn t merely because of Lenin s
understanding of the political landscape. Other significant events and factors that led

Lenin promised to protect the people, give them peace land and Bread and for a

To look at the mass of woodland and the Emory River is a sight that will take your
breath away. Oakdale is full of so much history its unbelievable. Looking at the old
building structures is just enough to show how much history Oakdale has hiding.
This is one reason why giving back to my community is important to me. I want to
keep my community beautiful and I want everyone to know just how marvelous
Oakdale really is. One other reason, is because I want tourists and anyone visiting
my community to feel humble and welcome. I want the best for my community.
Whenever someone comes to visit, I want them to be amazed by my community,
and I want them to see what I see and feel what I feel about my community. By
giving back to my community, I can make sure that it stays a clean, safe, and an
enjoyable place to be. I do not want anyone to leave Oakdale and say anything
negative about how bad the community was. By my contribution I hope that I can
make everyone a little happier. I dislike graffiti or anything of the sorts and if I see
any I make my best effort to cover it up. Liter is another thing that I can not

Gods And Goddesses Essay
Carter Ronca Professor Robinson February 10, 2015 First Unit Assessment Essay
Gods and Goddesses The beginning of religion coexists with the beginning of
humans trying to take control over the world and protect themselves and limit their
vulnerability to the outside forces. The need of early human society is the same
everywhere. This need of protection eventually evolves down the road to the need
for freedom and escape from pain. The development of central governments would
lead to the formation of divine kings and empires. This growth would unify the
different goals and the needs of the people. However, it would also have a huge
effect on the underlying nature of early religions. The early conception of Ancient
Egyptians religion is not that easy. Very little artifacts have been discovered... Show

In the world of giant metaphors, which the Egyptian temple represented, each
element is the overall architectural programme played both a physical functional
role and metaphorical one in symbolizing some aspect of the temple s underlying
meaning and purpose. Each temple was divided into zones. The first was the open
area. Next, were the outer courts that were assessable to the priests and on very
rare occasions to the common people. Last, were the inner halls where only
purified priest could enter. The sanctuary was also found in the inner halls and only
kings and the very high priests were allowed in this area. Beyond these zones laid
areas that were central to the everyday role of the temples. Here administrative
chamber, gardens, schools, libraries and areas used for various uses. The furniture of
the temples in the form of obelisks and statues had very distinct decorations and
inscriptions. These served as intricate interacting parts making temples worlds within

Analysis Of Timothy s God And The Lord Jesus Christ
In 2 Timothy 4:1 4 Paul charges Timothy along with Christians of today with God
and the Lord Jesus Christ as his witnesses to, Preach the Word! This exhortation
does not come without merit, Paul gives his reasons in verse three and four why it
is important. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but
according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up
for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be
turned aside to fables. NASB reads, But wanting to have their ears tickled and this
is exactly what is going on in the churches of Christ of today before they totally fall
away to false doctrine. They want to please their own desires and instead of
glorifying God they glorify themselves. In Current Issues Facing the Church notes,
Robert Stapleton wrote a list of the things plaguing the churches and they all have
to do with what man wants and not what the Lord wants. When it comes to
worship of the church the sovereignty of God has been displaced by the
sovereignty of the consumer, what we have ended up with is worship that is user
friendly. In other words, whatever pleases man is the rule. The list reads this way

Steven Vail Case Summary
In this scenario we will assume a robbery was just committed, and the victim
provides the general description of the suspect. The police officer taking the report
works that particular area everyday and develops a possible suspect based on past
several similar past encounters with the suspected individual. The officer is unable
to currently locate the suspected individual for a show up, so he or she returns to
the victim. Instead of calling a detective to create a photo array, which would include
the officer s robbery suspect, the officer retrieves a booking photo of the suspect to
show to the victim. The officer prints a single photograph of the person who he or she
believes committed the robbery, and from that single photograph the victim identifies

Therefore in this scenario the identification of the suspect is unnecessarily suggestive
and there is a legitimate chance of misidentification because of the personal bias of
the police officer (Hall, 2015). Furthermore, in the case of Steven Avery, officers
responding to scene of the rape may have influenced the victim s identification of
Steven Avery (Ricciardi Demos, 2015). In the documentary, one of the on scene
officers overhears the victim s description of the rape suspect, and replies that
sounds like Steven Avery (Ricciardi Demos, 2015). Subsequently, the victim
identifies Steven Avery in a photo array and he is convicted of rape (Ricciardi
Demos, 2015). Consequently, I feel the circumstances surrounding photo arrays can
be too suggestive, although police officers follow protocol when the photo array is

Alcohol And Gamblers Anonymous Meeting
Alcohol and Gamblers Anonymous Meeting As we go through the day we pause,
when agitated or doubtful, and ask for the right thought or action. We constantly
remind ourselves we are no longer running the show, humbly saying to ourselves
many times each day Thy will be done. We are then in much less danger of
excitement, fear, anger, worry, self pity, or foolish decisions. We become much
more efficient. We do not tire so easily, for we are not burning up energy foolishly
as we did when we were trying to arrange life to suit ourselves Alcohol Anonymous.
Alcohol and gambling are two addictions that impair an individual judgment,

The Rise Of D-Day During WWII
D Day was a long and difficult battle. Many things happened during it that were
good and bad. Here is what happened on D Day during WWII.
The Americans started to prepare D Day during WWII in December 1941. In 1942
the Americans and the British were planning to have an Allied invasion. In November
1943, Adolf Hitler put a man by the name Erwin Rommel in charge of defense
operations in France s Northern coast when he learned about an invasion that would
be there. In January 1944, General Dwight Eisenhower became the commander of
something called, Operation Overlord , which was a plan that was believed to be
certain success. Not long after that, Allies tricked the Germans into believing certain
locations were good places for invasions.

The purpose of this journal is to document my journey through the module. I intend as
well to show how the texts have influenced my viewpoints, and contributed to my
understanding of museums and visitors attitudes mainly relating to the locations of
our visits.
Furthermore, I wanted to capture my musings and key passages from some of the

the issues raised in these texts have affected my way of thinking; not only for this
module, but also for day to day attitudes. The narrative below comes around between

I believe that older people have the right to promote their social, cultural and
emotional capacities. So, this week I discovered a very interesting article about
museum lifelong learning of the aging people. According Hui Jong Hsieh, the
expanding number of elderly population has the outcome of confronting not only the
reshape of social structure, the redistribution of recourses, but also the complex
relationships of multi generations with assorted mindsets,
behavior and values. However, the attraction of elderly audiences requires certain
changes from the part of exhibitions halls. Museums should offer discount or free
entrance for over 65s and provide facilities such as wheelchair ramp, elevators,
wheelchair for the disabled, enlarged front brochures and large print information for
individuals and visual impairments, the medical kit, study stool or reading glasses for
any visitor who need them. It is really a big subject and many questions come to my
mind. How can museums afford so huge expenses? Does it open ways to politics to
involve in museums policies? How dangerous is it about the future of museums?

A Triple Bottom Line Model
Introduction
A triple bottom line model never merely quantifies an accomplishment or rather the
wellbeing of a company through its conventional monetary bottom line. However, it
similarly measures social, ethical as well as environment performance of the
company. Triple bottom line typically is an incessant process that shall assist the
company in concentrating into the performance of a more sustainable business
whereas demonstrating to local communities together with employees of that
particular firm that it is not merely looking forward on profit making, but similarly a
greater common good for the company operations (Hitchcock and Willard, 2009). It is
a sustainable model for business that balances financial success, community
participation together with ecological sustainability. The firm which employs triple
bottom line towards capturing the set significances, processes as well as issues of the
company might decrease and determine whichever harms resulting from their
operations then create economic, social as well as environmental values of that the
company . It is typically outlined that any is supposed to take into account the needs
of the company s shareholders, employees, stakeholders, governments, clients,
business partners, local communities together with the entire public. Reporting
through Triple bottom line (TBL) is currently turning out to be more ordinarily used
across several sectors within society. Even though the notion was born outside any

Rhetorical Analysis Of On Compassion
On Compassion Rhetorical Analysis
Where we are is the grand culmination of hundreds of years of cooperating as a
species to make for a grander environment that appeals to all. Despite our constant
effort to improve the quality of life on earth, however, an increasingly tremendous
problem pertaining the same subject has been growing right below our noses :
homelessness. We, the common people, typically place those in such plight into great
disregard; push them not off the streets but to the far back of our heads. In the article
On Compassion , former NEW YORK TIMES columnist, Barbara Ascher, teaches us
the ignorance of our denial and the importance of the helpless presence, and she does
this through the heavy use of contrast, figurative language, a good quantity of
rhetorical questions, and some very clever wording. She suggested that the presence
of the homeless helps teach us compassion. Afterall, compassion is not a character
trait like a sunny disposition. It must be learned. Ascher begins her article with a
strong narrative vividly describing a queer exchange between a homeless person, a
fearful woman, and an equally frightened infant. Utilizing both contrast and figurative
language, Ascher captures the unsettling atmosphere present in the special transaction
:
The mother removes her purse from her shoulder and rummages through its
contents: lipstick, a lace handkerchief, an address book. She finds what she s
looking for and passes a folded dollar over her child s head to the man who stands
and stares even though the light has changed and traffic navigates around his hips...
He does not know his part. He does not know that acceptance of the gift and
gratitude are what makes this transaction complete... The mother grows impatient
and pushes the stroller before her, bearing the dollar like a cross. Finally, a black
hand rises and closes around green (paragraphs 3 5).
In this segment from the earlier paragraphs of On Compassion , Ascher evokes some
early sympathy in the audience towards the homeless man described through the
implementation of contrast. Referencing the objects contained in the mother s purse
doesn t just contribute to a more descriptive passage; it also highlights the poor
situation
Legalization Of Marijuan The Hot Button Issues Of

Andrew Sheridan
Legalization of marijuana is one of the hot button issues of todays political arena. For
the last several decades the federal government has waged its infamous War on Drugs,
a war on it s own citizens which covers all manner of psychoactive substances that
have been deemed illegal. Strikingly, thousands upon thousands of citizens have been
incarcerated for crimes associated with the production, distribution, and the
consumption of marijuana. Marijuana is a plant that has been cultivated for
thousands of years for both its psychoactive effects and its industrial applications. The
founding fathers of the United States were among those who cultivated marijuana.

As these numbers increase the question of legalization in general across the states has
become an interesting and pressing issue. Multiple stances on both the pro and con
side of the issue exist. Supporting arguments often use studies to back up their claims.
In an October 15, 2014 article in The Washington Post, Christopher Ingraham writes
of the non negative aftereffects of the decriminalization of marijuana. In particular he
reviews a report from the Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice, which studied
California, where full decriminalization began at the start of 2011. Of interest the
report states marijuana decriminalization in California has not resulted in harmful
consequences for teenagers, such as increased crime, drug overdose, driving under
the influence, or school dropout. (Ingraham). Make no mistake, Ingraham is quick to
point out that correlation is not causality. He does however note The sky hasn t
fallen. (Ingraham). The naysayers who predicted that California s youth would fall
into aimless lifestyles were incorrect. In addition to studies, other arguments cite
documentaries. In his article released today, 20 April 2015, Zachary Wener Fligner
writing for Quartz reviews the CNN documentary Weed 3: The Marijuana Revolution
. In it Dr. Sanjay Gupta interviews President Obama, and Gupta asks the President if

The High Initiate Of Isis Research Paper
What is interesting to hold as a perspective is that the world in which you currently
live struggles to be in a place of rhythm and a place of balance.
Devotees to the Divine Feminine did not struggle in their devotion.
They walked the path of their own enlightenment, ask about it, wonder how to have
time for it.
The High Initiates of Isis were trained from a young age to walk in rhythm with the
seasons and flow with the tides of the moon. It simply was, what was. It was the only
way of life they knew.
Notice your surroundings. Notice the beauty. Notice the magic. Notice the richness
that is swirling around you in each and every moment.
From there...
Honor the rising sun and the setting sun.
Observe the effects of the dark and fullness of the moon
Feel the pulse in the ebbs and flows of your own lunar cycles.
The more esoteric teachings were for the High Initiates...for the women who have

Habits Of Covey

explains how many individuals who have achieved a high degree of success and
find themselves still struggling with a need to develop a personal effectiveness and

Be Proactive, the book explained that this habit is the basis of every other habit and
it is the corner stone of success. This first habit is a combination of take action and

because the greatest influence that every human receives if from within their self.
Begin with an end in mind, this phrase could be rephrase into visualize where you
want to go , Covey said that everything that if each person wants to accomplish
something they plan out everything first. First things first, this habit deals with setting
priorities. Realizing what values and goals are most important to a person. This habit
helps a person to manage his/her time efficiently, putting things in order from what
the most important to the least. Think win win, this habit states that a person s
decision must be based on a win win scale. Meaning every person involved would
get something in return. Not in a win lose scale, a person win while the others lost.
Many people grew up with this kind of mindset, also the beaten down mind set which

Saturday I prepared myself for the assignment. I dry texted people the entire day, I

Despite the efforts of parents to keep traditions alive, children are changing,
fighting over food, clothing and anything of any value. Many children feel like
they are prisoners in their host countries. Many are not allowed to leave their

percent of Syrian refugees leave their home less than once a week. In many cases,
multiple families are crammed into the same, often one roomed house. People
who held jobs, and often led successful lives now live off of handouts, or by
working odd jobs. Many children have been out of school for over two years, and
there is no opportunity to begin school in their host country. Last year, over 40%
of elementary children dropped out of school due to the civil war and resulting

is little hope for those who have fled Syria. Aside from the difficulty of finding a
place within a school, many children are also expected to work and to help provide

then work night shifts at restaurants or factories. Many children are often exposed to
extremely long working hours, dangerous types of work and many are exposed to
illegal activities. Those that do manage to go to school are faced with harsh

A Brief Biography of the Wilson Sisters
Ann Wilson and her Sister Nancy were born to their mother Lou, a concert pianist
and choir singer, and their father John, a former marine and musician. Due to their
father s job, they moved around frequently. They lived near American military
facilities before settling in Seattle. To keep the feeling of home where ever they
were they would always listen to music. On Sunday we d have pancakes and opera,

(Nancy Wilson) In the spring of 1963 Ann fell sick with mononucleosis and had to

guitar. Ann never took to the guitar, but it was Nancy who took over the instrument.
Even though Nancy became the guitar player in the family, Ann showed great
talent as a singer. During high school, Ann had trouble with weight problems and a
constant stutter. To get over her stutter and gain self confidence, Ann turned to
singing. She soon developed a very beautiful and resonant voice. After graduating

impressed by Ann s voice, the band took her in as a lead singer immediately. Heart
was quickly established a good name in rock and roll. In 1974 Ann s younger sister,

Essay on Egt1 Task 2
Supply and Demand
Elasticity of Demand
Elasticity of demand is a variation in price depending on the demand of a good or
service. Items like vehicles, appliances, jewelry, and electronics will sell less at full
price than they do when there is a drop in price. When producers and retailers drop
the price enough for the market to take notice, people react in deciding to purchase
the good or service. This reaction and sensitivity to the market is known as Elastic
demand.
Unit Elasticity of Demand applies to single units of a good or service and occurs
when a shift in price directly affects a product per unit. If the percentage of change

Soft drinks, although they have a limited substitution, they are considered inelastic
because no two soft drinks are chemically exactly the same and therefore true
substitutions do not exist. Product loyalty and brand recognition act as a way to
counteract substitutes. When a producer can make a consumer believe that no
substitute can rival their product, even when it has the exact same major ingredients
and manufacturing process, they have created an inelastic situation and loyal
customer who will make sacrifices and pay more for the brand named product.
Product loyalty is why Coca cola drinkers do not drink Pepsi and why 7 up drinkers
do not drink Sprite. While there may be a fluctuation week to week on prices, the
fluctuation is not large enough for the consumer to consider substitutions.
An example of where substitutions readily exist and can affect the elasticity of the
market is laundry soap. There are more than 40 laundry soaps on the market. If
there is a fluctuation in price where the purchaser feels their normal brand is getting
too expensive or not available, they would be more apt to choosing another brand as
basically all laundry soap has the same major ingredients, performs the same
function, and seen as an easy choice when the price difference can mean a number of
The Three Demographic Variables And How They Affect...
3. Discuss the three demographic variables and how they affect population growth or
shrinkage.
The three demographic variables are fertility, mortality, and migration. Fertility
encompasses the fertility rate which is how many children on average a woman can
have. Countries with high fertility rates tend to be poorer countries. These countries
have scarce resources and the belief is that the population growth will one day
outstrip the food supply. Other countries that don t have soaring fertility rate
generally do not have scarce resource or rather keep both balanced. Mortality is
viewed by the annual deaths per a 1000 people. Mortality rates are found to be
higher in countries that are involved in nonstop war or conflict like Afghanistan
and Israel. This is compelling because large scale acts of violence which are
common in these countries typically have huge population shrinkages. Migration is
measured by the migration rate which is the people moving into a country
compared to the number of people fleeing a country per 1000 people. This is the
only demographic that doesn t alter the global population, because no new births or
deaths are happening. You can say it s a shift of addresses.

Zoos give animals the opportunity to live a longer life than they probably would
in the woods, the public, or the forest where there is predators in every nook and
cranny. Zoos also treat their animals with kindness and love rather more than the
public does. Zoos also give animals a cage or a domain so the animals can have
their own space and doesn t have to share their home with other animals but that
doesn t mean zoos don t let the animals family members live or go in the same cage
or domain as them cause they do. Zoos also walk their animals around or let them
go in a more open and fun space to relax and to explore the new places they can go.
Now also zoos give animals toys to play so there not bored stuck in a cage all day
looking at the humans who sometimes just stare at them for hours watching,

Art Teacher Interview
Lawson
At Lakes High school located in Lakewood, Washington, I had the pleasure to
interview Kirsten Lawson at Exploring Art teacher. With this visit, the front desk had
recognized me and knew that I was there for another interview. The displays in the
administration building have changed due to Ms. Fortune class. The cases were filled
with the anthropomorphic bust that Ms. Fortune call was working on during my last
visit.
Ms. Lawson class was in the same building as Ms. Fortune class. This day I waited
for the craziness of the students getting to class to calm down. Unfortunately, the
teacher that I scheduled an interview called in sick, so I needed to implement with
plan B. There were two other art teachers that I could interview. Ms. Fortune had
explained that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I asked her, What would you change about art education if you could? Ms. Lawson
wants to grade on effort, this would make the students and herself feel better. They
would have more students that would want to take art and was not forced into it.
Art would be more fun for everyone all around. With this her second year of
teaching, she has found teaching mostly satisfying. She was lucky in getting her
job at Lakes high school. It was between Lakes high school with a great art
program and Lee that she would be the only art teacher in the school. I asked her
what she would like your students to leave with when they are finished her class. I
need to put this as my motto on the wall. Trying, perseverance, the outcome and the
big unknown. I want my students to know it s okay to fail, but do not give up. Art is
work, life is work, it s the effort you put into it for the satisfaction. Ms. Lawson
motivates students by making tasks fun yet challenging. She talks up the assignment
to get the students excited about it. Kirsten builds a relationship with the students to
allow them to feel more
Abnormality And Seymour Glass
Kelsey Sherman
ENGL 250 03
Prof. Franklin
October 11, 2017
Abnormality and Seymour Glass Abnormal behavior and those who exhibit it, often
point the way to what is wrong with being normal. Such is true in J.D. Salinger s
short story, A Perfect Day for Bananafish, in which character Seymour Glass displays
abnormal behaviors, attitudes, and qualities until the moment he dies. The
abnormalities that Seymour encompasses serve to underscore the failings of our so
called normal society.
Upon returning to New York from psychiatric wards of Army hospitals, Seymour
spends the next days with his wife s family, where it becomes apparent that his
psychiatric treatment was unsuccessful. His rudeness to Muriel s grandmother, calling

Seymour puts his hands on Sybil s ankles for the second time and compliments her
again by saying she is looking fine. They discuss another little girl named Sharon
Lipshutz who is also staying at the hotel. We learn that Sybil is jealous of her rival
and remarks that he could have pushed her off. Seymour tells her I pretended that
she was you. She tells him that next time he should push her off. After this
somewhat disturbing conversation between the adult Seymour and young Sybil,
they decide to go into the water. Seymour takes his robe off and leads Sybil into
the ocean waves where he tells her the story about imaginary bananafish. He tells
her that they lead a very tragic life. And that they swim into a hole where there s a
lot of bananas.... They re very ordinary looking fish when they swim in. But once
they get in, they behave like pigs. Seymour continues, Naturally, after that they re
so fat they can t get out of the hole again. Can t fit through the door.... And, They
die. Sybil plays along with Seymour s story, telling him I just saw one. Suddenly
Seymour picks up one of Sybil s feet and kisses it. The two then part ways, Sybil
says Goodbye and Seymour then puts his robe on, walks back to the hotel and
meets a woman in the elevator. He accuses her of looking at his feet and remarks that

Homophobia. A Word That Has Been Thrown Around For A
While,
Homophobia. A word that has been thrown around for a while, and yet there is no
exact meaning for it. According to Wikipedia, an average website used or seen by
many people, homophobia encompasses a range of negative attitudes and feelings
toward homosexuality or people who are identified or perceived as being lesbian,
gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT). , and yet to Merriam Webster, a highly
accredited online dictionary website, homophobia is the irrational fear of, aversion
to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals. There are many
definitions and perceptions of homophobia, all varying by mind set and cultural
stances. In Why Can t We Talk About Homophobia in the Black Community, by
Daniel Reynolds, Reynolds talks... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In, Homophobia Is Rampant in Professional Sports, Ford speaks about how in
male dominated sports coaches or other team players have tendencies to shame
athletes by calling them names such as sissies or girls (paragraph 1). Ford later
talks the causes of homophobia being hyper masculinity and the humiliation that
players were put though as children and teenagers in school teams to get short term
gains (paragraph 14). The author also states that someone in a professional team
could come out on a major team and survive, if they have the team support
(paragraph 16). Homophobia is the irrational fear and misunderstanding of people
who identify themselves as part of the LGBT community. Along with homophobia
can come irrational and heinous acts of hatred, to instill fear and panic amongst
LGBT members. This irrational fear and misunderstandings leads to the first cause
of homophobia: Religion. Religion plays a key role in black communities. According
to blackdemographics.com, 87% of Blacks (vs. 83% of all Americans) are affiliated
with a religion. It also found that 79 % of Blacks (vs. 56% overall) say that religion
is very important in their life.
The Causes Of Early Basketball Dynasties In The United
States
14.
Early Basketball Dynasties Several teams in both college and the professional
level formed early dynasties. Some say that this contributed to the unpopularity of
the game during their reigns because the outcomes were too predictable. In the
NBA, the Minnesota Lakers had a dynasty going; led by Mikan, they won
championships in 5 of 6 seasons from 1949 to 1954. Even as the league changed its
rules, and as Mikan s scoring dipped, the Lakers rolled. However, the game itself
was becoming harder to watch. The Boston Celtics would continue where Minnesota
left off. It started in 1957, when the Boston Celtics defeated the St. Louis Hawks in
a tough best of seven game series. That was the first of an incredible 11
championships in 13 seasons.
Some say that the Celtics Destiny is the most incredible in history but the UCLA
Bruins college basketball team might have something to say about that. For 12
seasons, beginning with the 1963 1964 season, Coach John Wooden and the
Bruins won a record 10 NCAA titles; including seven in a row. The only years they
did not win were 1965 66 season where they had a bad run of injuries and illnesses.
Texas Western won that year and we ll discuss that importance later. The other year
was the 1973 1974 season. Coach Wooden was ill a good portion of that year and
would retire the next year. This was an amazing run and in my opinion solidified
what is the greatest dynasty in the history of sports. I say this because in college
basketball you have
Democracy And The Right Of Voting
Democracy
Democracy is a generic term and every mature person living in today s world is
familiar with it. Democracy is a topic of debate now a days and most of the
research about it has already been conducted through surveys and choices of people.
Democracy is a system that assures the people s part in taking decisions of state and
political affairs through the right of voting. The generic definition and concepts of
democracy are easy accessible on many websites online. Democracy is a on which
almost 70% of the research is already done and further research is mostly taken in
order to check the shifting choices of the people.
Mostly the new generations are more attracted towards the concept of democracy
and many organizations tend to analyze the changing behavior of people. The
generic data about democracy on the internet has also explains it very well.
According to the generic data found on internet democracy can also be defined as
the government by the people . The government is supposed to be made with the
majority voting of the people and people are free to vote any candidate of their own
choice in a democratic country. (Building)
The democratic countries give power of choice to their people so that the decision
of the people should be made a supreme decision as the rulers supposed to rule on
them and the people should have the right to select their rulers freely. Democracy in
countries is dependent upon many factors and the main factor stood as the active
Greek Influence On Society
As a child I have always been fascinated with the history and influence of Greece.
When I first learned about the Olympics and how it derived from ancient Greek
times, I couldn t believe that these types of sports were still being played in today s
society. When the move 300 first came out in 2006, it just motivated me to learn
more and more about the conflict during those times. Even during my eighth grade
western civics class when we discussed the structure of the United States government
and democracy of Greece, it finally clicked that the Greek culture has had a huge
impact in today s modern culture. First of all, the Greek influence is not just limited
to politics but also in Art, philosophy, mathematics, and even modern science.

Even though the United States is considered by a vast majority as a Democratic type
of government, the system is based on the Greek influence of Democracy but is a
Republic country. The influence of ancient Greece plays a key role on how our
government in the United States formed and works. Much like ancient Greece,
today s United States government is also divided into different branches; the
executive, legislative and the judicial. Ancient Greek movement structure was
divided into Ekklesia, which was similar to the legislative, or law making branch,
the Boule, which resembled the executive, or law enforcing branch, and the
Dikasteria, a rough equivalent of the judicial branch (Harmon). But one of the main
differences between what we know as the Legislative branch and the Ekklesia, is
that within the Legislative branch the Congressional Legislative is made up of
elected senators and representatives from every state. Unlike the Ekklesia, which
during the 40 annual meetings of the Ekklesia, any of the roughly 40,000 male
citizens of Athens was allowed to appear and participate (Harmon). This also limited
females to not be citizens in Greece, only males unlike in today where both females
and males can participate in
