Agriculture Studies Networks for Food Security (Agri-Net) 2024

 The Agri-Net Program aims to support the second goal of the SDGs to “End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable
agriculture”. It will be required adequate agricultural policies and introductions of appropriate Technologies for stable food production.

Areas of study consist of 6 Development Themes:

1. System, Policy and Organizations on Agriculture and Rural Development Sector
2. Sustainable Agriculture Production
3. Food Value Chain (FVC)
4. Livestock Development and Animal Hygiene
5. Fisheries Development and Resources
6. Nature Conservation

APPLICATION MUST BE TYPED OUT

Eligibility:
1. Open to young or middle-career government officials, prospective academics, or personnel from private institutions/sector who are expected to contribute to
policy formulation or its implementation in order to help tackle sustainable developmental issues in these respective fields.
2. Applicants must request a new course of study and not seek support for a course already commenced;
3. Applicants must be applying for an upgrade of their highest qualification;
4. Educational Background: Hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree
5. Less than forty (40) years old in principle (As of April 1st 2024)
6. Must be residing in Samoa / have resided for a minimum of 2 consecutive years at the time of application
7. Must sign a Government Scholarship Bond prior to departure for study
8. Applicants must have a valid email address in order to receive notifications on the status of their application.
9. Applicants must not be receiving nor planning to receive another scholarship during the program.

Program Duration:
Master’s Degree: September 2024 – September 2026 (2 years)
Doctor’s Degree: September 2024 – September 2027 (3years)

 The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC) is now inviting applications from Samoa for Commonwealth Masters Scholarships tenable in the
United Kingdom from September/October 2024.
The Commonwealth Masters scholarships are offered under six (6) development themes:
1. Science and Technology for Development
2. Strengthening Health Systems & Capacity
3. Promoting Global Prosperity
4. Strengthening Global Peace, Security & Governance
5. Strengthening Resilience and Response to Crises
6. Access, Inclusion & Opportunity

Eligibility Criteria:
• Must be a Samoan Citizen (NZ/Samoan dual citizens are eligible)
• Must be a holder of a first degree of at least upper second-class honors standard or a second-class degree
• Must have resided in Samoa for three (3) consecutive years at the time of application
• Must have at least two (2) years’ full-time work experience relevant to preferred qualification
• Previous scholarship holders must have served out all Bond obligations to Government of Samoa at the time of application
• Priority will be given to Human Resource Development (HRD) needs for the development of Samoa

Application Procedure
All interested candidates must apply using the CSC`s online application system at www.cscuk.fcdo.gov.uk/about-us/scholarships. The online application will be
open from the 05 September 2023 to the 17 October 2023 at 4pm. You must submit your application online with all the required supporting
documentation no later than Tuesday 17 October 2023 at 4pm. You are required to submit a hard copy of your application form to the Public Service Commission

JICA Knowledge Co-Creation Program for Long Term Participants

 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Global Leader Program 2024. The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is now accepting applications from
Samoan citizens to undertake Undergraduate/Master/Ph.D. studies in Japan, under our SDGs Global Leader Program (previously known as Pacific – LEADs
Program).
The purpose of this Program is to equip future Pacific Leaders with technical knowledge and skills necessary to deal with various development challenges facing
PICs. The Scholarships are for Undergraduate Level Study (offered by Waseda University & Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University), Master Level Study (research or
course work) and Ph.D. Level Study, to commence in September 2024.
The duration of the Scholarship is no more than 4 years, depending on the program offered by Universities. Under our SDGs Global Leadership Program, successful
candidates will not only have the opportunity to experience living and studying in Japan, but they will also have the opportunity to advance their career, gain new
knowledge and develop leadership skills in order to contribute effectively to the future development of Samoa. APPLICATION MUST BE TYPED OUT.
