CHAPTER III
METHODOLOGY
This chapter will discuss the following parts: the chosen Research Design that
the researchers will be utilized, the Data source in which where the data will be taken
from, procedure of gathering the data, the selected Sampling Design for gathering
respondents, data analysis, the procedures to gather data and ethical considerations.

procedure will be done if, first, the respondent gives the researchers their consent to

Data Analysis
The Data analysis will be done using the following methods. First, as based
from the studies of Nasution et al (2021), Okafar and Alabi (2017) and Rangkuti et al
(2019), speech acts, specifically the illocutionary act will be implemented in identifying
their Linguistic features. Speech acts are words intended to inform someone of the
intention of the speaker through listening, while the illocutionary acts are those that
may have its own meaning to convey for others depending on the context. Second, in
analyzing their Characteristics and Purpose, the results from studies of Keipi et al,
(2017) and Sengun et al (2019), as well as the literature of Breur (2017) and Costa et al
(2020) will be it's criteria for they measure different varieties of hate speech. These
ranges from attack of players personally, to express and other in-game factors. They
will be arranged through the use of thematic table, in order to give details and explain

This study will be done following the ethical considerations so any issue that
may arise within the research is addressed. First, there would be voluntary participation
