1.2 Define the Accounting Flexfield Structure

Setup > Financials > Flexfields > Key > Segments
Field Description Value Application R Enter the application name that owns the key flexfield. General Ledger Flexfield Title R Enter the title of the key flexfield you want to define. You cannot create a new flexfield or change the name of an existing flexfield using this form. Structures Code Title This field automatically displays all previously defined flexfield structures. Use your cursor keys to select the title of the flexfield structure you want to

Field Description Value define or customize. If the flexfield you are defining allows you to use more than one structure, you can create a new structure for your flexfield by inserting a row. When creating a new structure, arrow down to obtain a blank row. Description O You can use this description to provide a better explanation of the purpose of this flexfield structure. View Name O Enter a View name if you want the application to generate a view for the structure to make ad hoc reporting simpler. The View that you specify will have a column for each segment in the structure along with the start_date_active, end_date_active, summary_flag, enabled_flag, and row_id. Freeze Flexfield R Indicate whether you want to freeze your flexfield definition. Enter No if you Definition want to set up or modify your flexfield segments or change the appearance of your key flexfield window. After you finish defining your flexfield, enter Yes to freeze it. Then save your changes. Enabled R Indicate whether you want this structure may be used in your key flexfield. Y Segment R Enter the character you want to use to separate your flexfield segment Separator values or descriptions whenever your application forms display concatenated segment values or descriptions. Cross-Validate O Indicate whether you want to cross-validate multiple segments using crossMultiple validation rules. You can define cross-validation rules to describe valid Segments combinations using the Define Cross-Validation Rule form. Enter No if you want to disable any existing cross-validation rules. Cross-Validation rules will be addtional rules to any FCE validations. Freeze Rollup O Enter Yes or No to indicate whether you want to freeze your rollup group Groups definitions. Allow Dynamic R Enter Yes to allow dynamic inserts of new valid combinations into your Inserts generic combination table.
