GUIDELINES FOR PREPARING THE MINI PROJECT-I
1. GENERAL
The students are required to develop an innovative idea for product or services and a
project report to be prepared on that idea under the guidance of faculty member. Report
will be prepared individually and this report will consist of importance and relevance
of innovative idea, its feasibilities and detail descriptions. The report will be evaluated
by one external examiner appointed by university. Student has to present his output
through a seminar.
The sequence in which the report contents should be arranged and bound should be as
follows:

3. MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
3.1. Page Dimensions, Margins and Quality
The page dimensions of the final copies of the project should be Standard A4 size paper
may be used for preparing the copies. It should have the following page margins:
The project should be prepared on good quality white paper preferably not lower than
80 gsm.
Name of the College (Times New Roman, font size 16, bold, full name, all characters
uppercase/Title mode, centered within the specified margin of the page).

b. The TITLE of the project (Times New Roman, font size 16, bold, single line spacing,
all characters uppercase except the symbols and numerals if used in the title of the
project; centered within the specified margin of the page).

mode, single line spacing, centered within the specified margin of the page).

of the page, separated symmetrically in case of two guides, use the next line in case
of three guides; brief one-line mention of the names of the institution of the guide).
j. Month, Year (Times New Roman, font size 14, bold, full name of the month in title
mode, comma, 4-digit year in Arabic, all centered within the specified margin of
the page).

3.3. Declaration
The Declaration of Candidate of the project shall be in double line spacing using
Times New Roman font size 12, as per the format shown in Annexure. The
heading DECLARATION Times New Roman font size 14 bold. The
certificate shall carry the Head of the Department and Faculty Guide signature
in original.
3.4 Certificates
The Certificates of the project shall be in double line spacing using Times New
Roman font size 12, as per the format shown in Annexure. The heading
CERTIFICATE Times New Roman font size 14 bold.
The certificate shall carry the Faculty Guide signature in original and shall be
followed by the Faculty Guide name, academic designation (not any other
responsibilities of administrative nature), department and full address of the
institution.
3.5 Acknowledgement
Acknowledgements shall be brief and should not exceed one page when typed
in double line spacing Times New Roman with font size 12 within the specified
margin of the page. It should begin with title ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS Times
New Roman with font size 14 bold as heading placed in center. The signature of
the candidate shall be made at the bottom right end above his. /her name typed
in title case.
3.9 Appendices
Appendices in a project are provided to give supplementary information, which
if included in the main text may serve as a distraction and could tend to dilute
the central theme under discussion.

4. TYPING INSTRUCTIONS
4.1. General
The last word of any page should not be split using a hyphen. Double spacing
should be used for typing the general text. The general text shall be typed in
font Style Times New Roman and Font Size 12. All quotations exceeding one
line should be typed in an indented space - the indentation being 15mm from
either margin.
5. NUMBERING INSTRUCTIONS
5.1. Page Numbering
The preliminary pages of the Summer Internship project (such as Title page,
Acknowledgement, Table of Contents etc.) should be numbered in lower case
Roman numerals e.g. (i), (ii), (iii), …. The Title page, however, will be treated
numbered as (i) but this will not be typed. The page immediately following the
title page shall be numbered (ii) and it should appear at the bottom center of the
page, and so on. Pages of the main text, starting with Chapter 1 should be
consecutively numbered using Arabic numerals e.g. 1, 2…. All page numbers
(whether Roman or Arabic) should be typed without punctuation in the center
of the page 15mm above from the bottom.

Arabic numerals only and further decimal notation should be used for
numbering the sections and sub-sections within a chapter. For examples sub-
section 4 under section 3 of chapter 2 should be numbered as 2.3.4. The heading
for a section or a sub-section should immediately follow in the same line after
the number with a line spacing of 1.15 in between.
7. SIZE OF REPORT
The size of the report should be within 30 pages

Follow the given format for quoting the reference:
Last name, Initials. (Year). Article title. Journal Name, Volume (Issue),
Page range. DOI or URL

Year of Publication, Month Day if Given). Article title: Subtitle if any. Name of Magazine, Volume

Course Objective:
1. To develop an innovative idea for a product or service in the form of a project report.
2. To understand the importance and relevance of innovative ideas, its feasibilities and detailed
descriptions
Project/Practical Work /Seminar in the first semester, the students are required to develop an innovative
idea for a product or service and a project report to be prepared on that idea under the guidance of a
faculty member. The report will be prepared individually and this report will consist of the importance
and relevance of the innovative idea, its feasibilities and detailed descriptions. The report will be
evaluated by one external examiner appointed by the university. The student has to present his output
through a seminar. The project should encourage innovation, creativity, critical thinking, and a deep
understanding. By following the guidelines below, students can develop a comprehensive and well-
thought-out plan for an innovative product or service to address a business and social issue.
Project Guidelines:
1. Understanding Business/Social Issues:
Begin by researching and identifying pressing business / social issues. Students to choose a cause they
are passionate about. Conduct stakeholder analysis to understand the various perspectives and interests
related to the chosen issue.
2. Market Analysis:
Define the target audience affected by the problem and analyse their needs, preferences, and behaviours.
Discuss the competitors present in the market.
3. Idea Generation:
Generate creative ideas addressing solutions to the problem chosen. Think outside the box and consider
unconventional solutions to foster Creativity and Innovation.
4. Feasibility Analysis:
Evaluate the feasibility of the proposed ideas by planning the required resources, financials, manpower
requirement, and technological resources if any. Identify potential risks and challenges associated with
the implementation of the idea and develop mitigation strategies.
