Machacookies

STEPS PROCEDURES MINUTES

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the flour, 2 mins

1 baking soda, and matcha. Put aside.

2 In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, 2 mins

sugars, egg, and vanilla extract until blended.

3 Mix the dry ingredients into the liquid ingredients 3 mins

until they form a dough. Stir in the chocolate
chunks.

4 Refrigerate the bowl after wrapping it in plastic 30 mins

wrap.

5 Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a large

baking sheet with a silicone baking liner or 5 mins
parchment paper when ready to bake.

6 Scoop dough onto a prepared cookie sheet, 2 3 mins

inches apart, with a tiny cookie scoop.

7 Bake until the edges of the cookies are golden

brown, in a preheated oven. The centers will still
appear underdone when they come out of the oven 10 -12 mins
because the cookies will continue to cook as they
cool.

8 Put it in clear cellophane and seal it with a ribbon. 1-2 mins

RedVecookies

STEPS PROCEDURES MINUTES

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa 2 mins

1 powder, baking soda, and salt. Place aside.

2 Beat the butter on high speed with a handheld or

stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment until
creamy. As required, scrape down the sides and 4 mins
bottom of the basin. After adding the brown sugar
and granulated sugar, beat until blended and
creamy.
3 Scrape down the sides and bottom of the mixing
bowl as required to incorporate the egg, milk, and
vanilla essence. Once blended, add the food
coloring and stir well. Turn off the mixer and
combine the dry and wet ingredients. Turn the 5 mins
mixer to low and gradually beat until a soft dough
forms. If you want a brighter red dough, use
additional food coloring. Beat in the chocolate
chips at low speed. The dough will be quite sticky.

4 Allow the dough to sit at room temperature before 15 mins

rolling and baking because the dough will be quite
hard.

5 Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a large

baking sheet with a silicone baking liner or 5 mins
parchment paper when ready to bake.

6 Roll 1.5 Tablespoons (35g) of dough into a ball.

On each baking sheet, place 9 balls. It's okay if the
cookies just spread somewhat. Simply press down
on the heated cookies to gently flatten them, which 13-14 mins
aids in the formation of crinkles. Put a few
chocolate chips on top of the warm biscuits for
decoration if desired.

7 Cool cookies on the baking sheet before 5 mins

transferring to a wire rack to cool fully.

8 Put it in clear cellophane and seal it with a ribbon. 1-2 mins

provide its customers with personalized offerings and achieve a deeper level of communication.

This concept emphasizes engagement by offering patrons the opportunity to enjoy homey-crafted

beverages while immersing themselves in library-ish surroundings. Brewed Books Cafe

transforms into much more than a place to grab a cup of coffee. Patrons will enjoy the sensory

experience of freshly brewed coffee and the smell of pages from books. Consequently, the coffee

shop plans to retain its customers longer and attract organic word-of-mouth referrals from

satisfied customers. Our library-themed coffee shop plans to attract media attention and generate

social buzz. Creating a memorable experience for customers is the key to our library-themed

coffee shop's competitive advantage.

Promotional Strategies

A. Social Media Engagement:

Establish a strong presence on popular social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and

TikTok. Regularly post aesthetic content, such as the making of coffee and pastry, satisfied

customer experience, behind-the-scenes cafe footage, book and product recommendations, and

cute pictures of the cafe showcasing its Instagrammable setting.

B. Loyalty Program:

Introduce a loyalty program to reward repeat customers with points that they will gain and

accumulate to avail of some of the cafe’s premium offers. Members will receive exclusive perks,

such as discounts on cafe items, free book rentals, and free drinks or sweets on designated dates

like birthdays or the cafe's anniversary. The loyalty program will enhance customer retention and

encourage word-of-mouth referrals.

C. Local Marketing Initiatives:

Distribute attractive flyers and posters around the city, targeting high-traffic areas and places

frequented by the target audience like near the city hall, La Salle University - Ozamiz, etc.

Distribution of brochures to individuals in the city hall, students in La Salle-Ozamiz, Misamis

University, and Basic Education schools like Ozamiz School of Arts and Trades and Ozamiz City

National High School will also be done to increase awareness of the cafe.
D. Free Taste Testing on Opening:

Conduct free taste testing outside and near the location of the cafe on its opening day to entice

and encourage customers to visit and buy from the cafe. A dozen of free bite-sized cookies,

crinkles, and brownies will be distributed to potential customers, giving them a gist of the

products offered by the business.

Pricing Strategies

For our pricing strategy, we will employ the cost-plus pricing approach. This means that a

markup percentage will be added to the cost of the production to determine the selling price of

our products. The markup will be calculated to guarantee that the profit margin is adequate while

covering the direct and indirect expenses involved in running the coffee shop.

To establish an accurate selling price, we will take into account all the expected direct and

indirect costs associated with operating the coffee shop.

V. ASSESSMENT RISK

Weaknesses of the Business

● Expensive Capital

The expensive capital of the business will be considered a weakness. The cost of the cafe

renovation contributes to the expensive capital including the cost of the machinery, equipment,

and furniture due to its aim to provide high-quality products and ideal customer accommodation.

The business will compensate for the cost of expenditures by generating revenues. Brewed

Books plans to focus on sales and marketing efforts to drive revenue and increase customer

acquisition. It also plans to offer products and services that are competitive and fulfill a genuine

need in the market. Brewed Books will minimize unnecessary expenses and monitor costs

closely. The owners will conduct a thorough analysis of the business operations to identify areas

where expenses can be reduced without compromising on quality and customer satisfaction.

Brewed Books will also utilize cost-effective digital marketing strategies to reach a wider

audience without significant upright expenses.

● Management’s lack of prior experience

Another weakness that will be considered is the management’s lack of prior experience in

managing the business. The management team may make less-informed decisions, leading to

potential missteps and missed opportunities. They may also struggle in handling unexpected

challenges effectively as well as dealing with customer problems. Since it will be a new and

relatively young business, with a limited track record, there will be more uncertainty about how

the business will perform in the future. It will also hinder demonstrating consistent growth

patterns and future scalability. To address these, the management team plans to seek guidance
from experienced mentors or advisors who have successfully run a business in the same or

similar industry. They can offer valuable insights, provide feedback, and help navigate

challenges. The management will also conduct thorough market research to understand the target

audience, competitors, and industry trends. Having a deep understanding of the market can help

the management in making informed decisions. The management will also consider engaging

with other entrepreneurs and business professionals through networking events, industry

conferences, and online forums. Learning from others’ experiences can provide valuable lessons

and new perspectives to the management.

● Changing consumer preferences

This will be considered a weakness because when consumer preferences shift, the products and

services that Brewed Books will offer may no longer align with what customers want. This will

lead to a decline in customer loyalty and a loss of market share to competitors who cater better to

the changing preferences. It may also result in a decrease in sales and revenue of the business. To

provide solutions, Brewed Books will establish direct lines of communication with customers

through various channels such as social media and customer service interactions to gain insights,

address concerns, and build relationships to foster loyalty. Brewed Books also plans to be open

to change and innovation. It plans to adapt existing products and services to better align with

customer preferences and be willing to introduce new offerings that will cater to emerging

trends. Brewed Book will also plan to conduct market research regularly to understand current

trends, customer needs, and preferences. This can be done through surveys, social media

monitoring, and analyzing customer feedback. The insights that will be gained from the research

will inform decision-making and product/service development.
